I'm just curious, how many people in this guild hate Emmy Rossum? I mean, I think she's very good, and don't see why others don't like her, so please post why you don't like her, or vise versa.

I personally do like her but she was also the first Christine I saw or listened too. Well no wait, I take that back, I listened to Brightman when I was about six but the music scared me so I can't say if I liked Sarah too much...

I didn't like her as Christine. She's a fine actress, I just don't like her voice.

I prefer her voice to Brightman personally. I think she's my second favourite next to the Christine I saw on the Canadian tour. Sandra Joseph is almost as bad as Brightman too.
You know, Brightman is a really talented singer too... she just sings Webber stuff like a frog muppet thing. Her and Kermit should perform a version of phantom just so their voices could blend....
*cough* Sorry... ranting, lol.

Well I don't hate her personally, but I did hate her performance in the movie. She was just a bad performer. Sarah Brightman wasn't a very good actress either, but at least she could hit the notes properly to make up for it. *shrugs*
I used to know someone who went to school with Rossum though, and she hated her. Said she was a pretentious, braindead twit, IIRC.

I liked her in the role because it was the first person that I've ever seen play Christene! At first her voice was wierd to me but it kinda grew.... She does seem like an airhead in the movie at times though.... it seems like shes playing Raoul sometimes and I hate that...

I don't hate her because I personally don't know her. I thought she did a good job as Christine (not like 'omg she's the greatest evarrr). It's stupid if people hate her for taking on a role (i.e. "She cheated on the Phantom." That's Christine. Not Emmy.)
Yep, you can't hate a person when you don't know much about them. confused

I don't hate, I adore her! Her voice is amazing and perfect for Cristine, in my opinnion, becuase Cristine isn't supposed to have a 'mature' voice like Sarah's. Though her acting skills are somewhat lacking, she overall is a great preformer. 3nodding

I like her voice, her acting is okay, but I also think that Sarah Brightman sounded a little like she was singing with penut butter in her mouth...I can't really say...

I guess she's ok.She has a very nice voice and especially playing the role at her age. She's good biggrin
