Emerald eyes flicked about as a slim fligure walked in the Pridelands, head held high as she began to walk...then jog a little...breaking out into a death rattling run. Her legs jolted like springs as her head boggled. Only one thing was on her mind, one factor in her life that to this day meant more than anything, even her own life.
Her family.
Racing past the Pride Rock, she halted and glanced around, last time she was here Ma'isah had been just a cub. And now...everything was different. She had grown, and yet she had that childish and trickster side still in her. As she began to race again a thought flutter in her. What if...nah. But really...what if? Blinking she kept her pace as it passed by once more. "What if...they think I am...dead?" She thought and paused as her paws dug into the lush grass. The green matching amongst her coat like a sea of gems.
Shaking her long tail she continued and searched through the various dens, trying to locate hers. No that was not it. Her mind triggered as she kept racing through. Oh please, let her find them. Still she ran on through, her body swaying as she curved a corner, ears perking up at other lions and lionesses. There were cubs, more cubs than she had seen. As she ran a thought ran in her mind, was 'Kota still around? Ignoring it briefly she continued onward and saw a den in the distance.
THERE.

Shade rested on lime green fur as Siltim was sitting underneath the tree near his family's den. His mother had been resting for many days now, the cubs would be coming any day now. It made him excited about the idea of new siblings, but nervous because he'd had more responsibility of taking care of them. Ears flicked slightly as his paled mane rested over his eyes. Many days have passed since Siltim has visited any of his friends and thus, it made him realize that he didn't know his other siblings as well as he would have liked to know them.
Tail flicked slightly before a faint scent caught his attention. It was a scent he knew very well, even though it's been ages since he's caught wiff of it. His older sister, Ma'isah. She was here? Back in the Pridelands? His lime green eyes blinked before scanning the area for her pale body against the sea of green...a part of him hoping his scent wasn't playing games with him.

Eyes flicked over the den as she raced near it, her body racing against the gentle wind. Oh please, please let them know its her. As she ran it almost made her emotional, did they know she was alive. Did they think she abandoned them? No she did not, she had been simply lost for many days and now, oh and now she was home. As they say, home is where the heart is, and that was where she had left it, right at home. Grinning her eyes fell on another. A lion. Lime green...nuh uh. Still racing Ma'isah felt her jaw drop. It was Siltim. Racing faster she let out a childish giggle as tears slid off her sides of her cheeks.
"SILTIM!!!" She called out, the bitter sweet happiness in her voice stinging the air as she laughed and jittered around.
Oh what a joyous day, what a truely joy it was. Seeing her brother, her favorite being in her Pride, besides her parents. Siltim was all she had, she had SHimah and Rami but they never had the connection they did.

His name was called like a songbird singing to the sun. Siltim blinked in surprise, it was true. His older sister was back! Lime green eyes lit up with joy as his tail wagged happily at the sight of his sister making her way towards him. The day just seemed to have gotten brighter with each passing second. "Ma'isah!" He cried out before smiling at her. It was good to have her here with him again, it didn't feel right with her gone for so long. He didn't realize just how much he depended on her until now.
Cheekily, "Didn't enjoy being with me anymore, 'Isah?"

Racing to him her eyes welled up as giant tears gushed out and she nuzzled him, her smile large as she shook her head and laughed. "You silly silly Siltim, never would I stop enjoying you." She spoke and ran her fur along his as she nudged him and sighed out, "I had taken Shimah off to her new pride, and you know how I am, I got lost along the way." She shook her head in a disapproved way. "You don't know how much I missed you. And Mama and Papa. And Yaten, oh Yaten! How is he and Satinka?" She asked in affection as her tail flicked side to side.
Somehow her world brightened in that moment. She was with her best friend, her brother.
Eyes oepened showing more emerald than ever before, "You....you...grew!?" She said and chuckled, "Mr. Handsome, well not really actually the green makes me think of olives." She teased and puffed out her fur, still as she did as a child.

Maw returned her nuzzle as Siltim took in the affectionate gesture of his sister. They shared such a bond that he valued greatly. Purring softly, he chuckled at her reply. "Well of course, males always have better senses of directions than females do. You should know that by now!" He jested. At her question, he smiled, "Oh, they are doing well...with a litter of four to keep their paws full, I am sure they are having a wonderful time."
His paw raised as he batted her, "Handsome? Naw, I'm just the same, little ole' me. You, are still just as big as ever, 'Isah!" He replied, "We've both grown, huh? Have you been taking care of yourself?"

With a light laugh, Ma'isah nodded her head and purred lightly as she pulled just a step away and giggled. Her heart was racing, she was seeing her brother. Oh how wondrous the world was to her at this very special moment. "Hah, Yes we have grown. They had the cubs, oh my! How adorable are they?" She questioned and smiled as her tail flicked about. Siltim and Ma'isah were like the peanut butter and jelly of the family, always together.
The tricksters. The trouble makers. The joy.
Leaning on her side she grinned and paused, "Yes I have been. Got lost and scared countless times, but I met a lion who helped me on my way to home. Actually, he is a Pridelander, Ezeoha, you know him?" Her eyes focused on her brother as she nuzzled him again poking him with her paw, she did not know about her mother's future cubs. That would be a large shocker.

Head nodded slightly as Siltim replied, "Yes, two males and two females. Half black and half white." He smiled happily, "They are adorable and we'll need to go see them sometime. I haven't visited them in a little while." Lime green eyes flickered with mischief as he pounced on his sister and grabbed her ear with his mouth before tugging on it. It's been a while since he's done that! Tail flicked behind him in joy before he leaped off of her gracefully.
At her latter words, his curiosity was piqued as she mentioned another lion. The name did not sound familiar, it was no one he knew of. He shook his head, "No, I do not know of that lion, I have never met him before."

Grinning broadly, Ma'isah was pounced upon and fell to the ground in one single movement. An outburst of giggles exited her raspy throat as she pawed at her brother lightly, that was something she missed. Their challenges of strength, and it seemed that he was now much stronger than she. Oh what a pity. She let out a light chuckle, "I want to see them!" She pouted and lifted her body as her emerald eyes stared into her brothers.
"Oh he is really kind, despite his constnat jokes and flirtations. You will like him, or maybe not. But he is still kind. But.." She niipped his tail and tugged on it before skimpering under a tall tree, "Not as kind as you."
Dancing about she poked at the tree and smiled, the essence of home, it was all far to appealing. "How is Mama and Papa, and Rami?"

A light and airy chuckle escaped from Siltim as he flicked his tail against her body before sitting up. "You'll see them eventually. I'm sure you'll get along with most, if not all of them." His lime green eyes shifted towards their family's den before being reminded why he was out here in the first place. "I don't know about Rami, I have not heard of him since Shimah left the pride. But, I guess you haven't heard the news...that mother is pregnant and we're going to have more siblings." He told her.
As she spoke about her new friend, Siltim couldn't help but narrow his eyes in jealousy. So, his sister was out making new friends without spending time with him. Gruffly, he huffed, "That's nice."

With a light cheery laugh, Ma'isah spun about as she eyed her younger brother at the open whim, had he been joking? Mother...why did she feel a tinge of jealousy that she was having more cubs, weren't Ma'isah, Siltim, Rami, and Shimah enough. Oh well, she was happy for her! But still the thought that she had not seen her mother and father in ages held quite a strong hold of guilt in her stomach.
"Wow, that is great, how is she doing? Any pains, how close along is she? Wow I sound like her." She chuckled and smiled at her brother lovingly, always their mother had been quite overprotective of Siltim, was she still that way? Ma'isah began to wonder if he would feel jealous, actually Ma'isah was quite excited that little cubs would be around. She could play with them and her and Siltim could teach them their old tricks. Wow, more tricksters.
As she heard him reply, her eyes stared upon his. "Are you...jealous?" She asked lightly and nudged him. "Siltim, there are no worries, I will spend my time with you as I always have, you are my brother and my best friend. No one can take that away. He helped me in time of need, that is all my Silly Siltim." She said and licked his cheek then pawwed his side, "Pah, you know that."

Ears lowered slightly as Siltim looked towards their den, "She's been pregnant for a while and it's really started to show. Mother thinks they should arrive any day now, we just have to wait and see." He was still a bit confused about the idea of more siblings running around, whether he should be happy, sad, or jealous. While his mother still questioned him, it wasn't too the point that she was as over-protective anymore. In fact, with them growing into adulthood soon, it would come a time where he'd have to think about what to do with his life...whether he would have a family of his own or not.
Lime green eyes shifted towards his older sister. "Why should I not be? Some other lion is taking you away from me." He turned his head away from his sister, he was being childish but that's all he knew how to be. Sighing softly, his tail flicked, "Things are changing, things are beginning to change into things I don't know. I am slightly lost."

Looking at her brother, Ma'isah let out a soft sigh. Had he been alone lately? Oh that pain struck her again, guilt. If only she had the whims of another and the brains in traveling, she would have never had gotten lost. And she had. It had taken her months to get back to her den, her family. Something seemed to be bothering SIltim and it bothered Ma'isah even more. Walking towards him, her paws struck the soft grass as she cooed softly. "Siltim."
Her mind was spinning ever so fast. Why could not time just stop. Stop at the way it was, the way it used to be.
As she wandered to Siltim she huzzled him, "Siltim...come on, he is not taking me away from you!" She pounced on him and nuzzled him again. "The most important thing to me is family, and that Siltim you are, he is a friend. Never would I allow him to take you away from me. Not in a million years." She paused looking at him as she got up, "Thigns change, even if we do not want them to. But Siltim, I am lost as well but still we are the same childish cubs we once used to be. I am here now, we can be lost together."

Ears flatten slightly as Siltim shifted his head away from his sister. So many things had happened, so many things have changed that it's hard for him to keep up anymore. The world was changing with each passing day, but him, he was still lost in his own little world. His fantasy. Sighing softly, he let his pale mane cover his eyes slightly as he couldn't look at his sister right now. She was probably just another illusion in this grim world that taunted him so. Speaking stiffly he replied, "You might say that, but can we even call ourselves childish cubs any longer? Mother is going to be having another litter...we're not the babies anymore."
That thought struck a nerve, they were growing up, becoming adults and the things they used to get away with they could no longer do. The harsh reality was slowly setting in on Siltim, things would never be the same. Things would never be the way they used to be. Yaten had his family to look after, his mother had new cubs to take care of, two of his siblings had left home and another had just returned. The cold reality of it was that he was almost an adult now and could not be acting like a cub. There were certain things you could get away with when you were young, but when you're older you have responsibilities that need to be taken care of. "Do you even realize we can't be what we used to be anymore?" He raised his eyes to stare at his sister, "We can't be childish adults always running off without a care in the world. Things have changed, we have to change in order to survive in the world around us. It is nice to go off on adventures but the fact remains that we'll be adults soon and more responsibilities will be placed on us. You don't see the king or queen running off on adventures now do you?" He challenged her, "I don't want to be grown up with responsibilities, I want to have fun and play games...but things are different, 'Isah. We might even have our own families soon..." His voice trailed off slightly in a laugh, "Or mother likes to think so. I can't even begin to look at females that way yet!"

A soft breeze made Ma'isah stare at her brother as her eyes lit in a look; not of one that could kill but of pure and utter saddness. Flicking her muzzle to the ground she sighed and lay upon the grass. The emerald color, made her think of her family, how she had missed them and then when she saw Siltim...her mind sprung to the childhood she lost. Her childhood with him. "Just because mother is having cubs, you think she wants us to be Miss and Mr Proper with their minds set to hunting and nothing else, rather then teaching our soon to be brothers and sisters the fun and joy of games!" Her eyes grew sullen as she saw his expressions, "Siltim...do you not have any mischief left?" She asked sincerely and turned her head away to look at the sky.
She hated this. Growing up, what a waste. Why couldn't she be young forever, it would be a dream that her and Siltim could have, to still be cubs and venture as them.
The thoughts clouded her mind as her emerald eyes then gazed up to her little brother, "Just because we are older, does not mean that we cannot still be us Siltim...we are who we are, nothing will change that even with age! Well...of course we will get a little bit wiser, and more how do I say... Adult-ish? BUt still, we can be our energetic little selves. You don't know how much I missed you. I was so affraid in the woods and wilderness when helpong Shimah, I thought you guys would have thought I was dead...but I found my way home. Siltim..." She said and sat up on her paws as she neared him, "We don't have responsibilities now, except to help our mother and father, and with the Pride while we can, but besides that, we are still us. " Flicking her tail she looked at him and snickered.
"I know, I have two friends that are lions, and I will never think of them like that...I still see them as vermin....compared to my Little Brother!" She said and nudged him hoping he would fall, as she giggled.
