It was her second christmas on the island, but that did not make the feeling of loneliness go any lower. The only bright thing that happened was when she found Cody's shell - her new treasure, which had found it's home in her pants pockets for the moment, as if it was some kind of good luck charm. She didn't want to put it on the shelf with the gifts from last years just yet - as it made her feel better to have a constant reminder that someone had remembered her.
But, at least, when everything sucks, you always have Dance Dance Revolution. And that was exactly what Kim was doing - getting the arrows right was doing wonders about not making her think about anything else, expecially on Heavy. She wasn't listening to her ipod as she thought she might trip in the wires.

Aislinn had made her own way to the arcade to get away from the Duplexes for a while. She'd stopped by Brian's briefly, but he was out-- probably studying animals in the woods or something, knowing him. A small smile lit her face at the thought of it.
The woman opened the door with only a little bit of difficulty, and managed to hobble in a bit more quickly than she'd managed the day before. She'd been spending time in the workout room working on her arm muscles so that she could better support herself and work the walker a bit better.
It was paying off in small doses.
The woman blinked, noticing a familiar form there playing DDR, "Kim?" she asked, feeling a bit sheepish. She remembered their first encounter-- her first encounter, in fact, with anyone on the island who didn't belong to the staff.

Kim has heard nothing of the other woman's entrance, as her mind seemed to only be processing directions at the moment.
Left left right up down left hold right hold down left up up down right left...
"Kim?"
Bang, roadblock. The surprise almost sent the black haired girl toppling over and the only thing that saved her from such a fate was the handlebars and quick reflexes. It was in those kind of moments where she was somewhat thankful she wasn't something furry, as she probably would have wound up looking like something of a startled, psychotic cat from hell at that instant.
"Oh, hey hey, how it's going ?" Nice save, but she had missed a few arrows and DAMN there she just knew that E rank was coming on. So, she gave up and went to actually look at the other person.
Aislinn. That had been her name, right ? The expression on her face changed sightly, not much so out of annoyance or anything like that, mostly a "WTFHAPPENEDTOHERBOTTOMHALF" kind of startled glance. Oh. Oh boy.
Well, hopefully she believed her now ?

The woman nodded, looking a bit shy. She didn't often feel that way, but she had been pretty awful the last time they'd met. Or at least, she was pretty sure she'd upset Kim, and she felt badly about it.
"It's...uh...well, been better," she smiled weakly, "How are you?"

"Could be better, could be worse." She shrugged, not really looking all that upset or worried. She was usually the shyer one, but it wasn't really showing at the moment.
"Trying to get my mind off a few things."

Well, as the other didn't seem concerned, Aislinn shrugged it off easily enough.
"You don't look as thought you've changed, at least," she said softly. Kim at least looked exactly the same as she had when they'd last met, "Do the changes come slower after the first two, then?"

"I..." She blinked, laying on the railing to think. "I don't really know. I mean, it always seemed to take me more time than it took others to change. There are alot of people that I have met, that seemed to eventually catch up and ever change beyond my own in a shorter laps of time..."
Of course she had noticed that. It was hard not to, as she watched around the village and saw even those she never really talked to become progressively more and more animalistic, while she seemed to be the only thing that remained constant beside those like Pyroth, that you couldn't guess they where human in the first place, and most likely done with the process alltogether.
"...Is it wierd to feel guilty for that ?" She most likely had not meant to say that out loud.

The woman shook her head, "It's probably biological," her veterinary training was kicking in at last, "Different people react to things differently. It's possible your body is just better at kicking out unfamiliar...things.." she wasn't entirely positive what it was they injected them with.
"Do you get sick often?" if she had strong antibodies, they might fight off whatever it was that made them change longer than the ones many others had, "If you don't, it could just be that your antibodies are more effective than most. If you do, it could be something else. Y'know?"

"I've always had a weak immune system." She shrugged. "But I've only been real sick once since I came here. The other time I somewhat got sick was the insulin shocks during the lockout.... But they weren't as bad as the others I had before." This still puzzled her. How did she manage to stay in the wild for so long without a steady dose of insulin ? Expecially before her first change... Something was very odd there. The logical explanation was that they probably had been played in some way, but she never sought out an official answer. The doctors where those who decided, and while she resented them to an extent, she wasn't going to be stupid enough to act out of line.
As much as she hated it, the doctors where the alphas.
"Maybe my serum is different. I wouldn't surprise me, with what I got stuck with." She mumbled, then forced herself to brighten up a bit. "Where you a doctor ?" She asked Aislinn, curious about how she theorized this.
