I'm just curious, do you think Twilight and New Moon are girl books or both girl and guy books?

Well, it's basically targeted toward girls, I think, what with all the romance and what not, but boys can enjoy it, too, I think. Who doesn't like fights between werwolfs and vampires, huh? That can be both BOY and GIRL 3nodding

Okay, again, according to the Signature above me im an idiot sweatdrop but I think Twilight and New Moon are both Girl and Guy books. I mean yeah sure we girls like romance and Hott vampire guys that are just so darn smexy*fangirl sqee*. but there is a lot of kool action parts that guys would like, and there are also guys who enjoy romance as well.

I guess it depends on what the person likes

I think they're more girl books, but I can see guys reading them.

Most teen books are (unfortunately) targetted to girls instead of boys, which I hate. Most teen books are trash (there are the rare exceptions) and if there was more of a balance to the targets they may improve in their quality.

So though Twilight and New Moon, being teen books, are obviously targetted to girls (the POV of a girl in love with a vampire=targetted to girls).

Personally, I think it's just preference. The male fans of the books on the guild I admire because I know there are stupid people out there saying, "THEY'RE GIRL BOOKS! ONLY GIRLS CAN READ THEM!", "Wow, I'm surprised a BOY would read Twilight."

Note: Please read announcements. I HATE changing thread titles and i almost deleted this one right off the bat.

Well, I think that girls would be opted to like it, since it's all romantic and stuff, but guys could probably enjoy it too.. As I always say, there's a hopeless romantic inside all of us. =3

I suppose it is mostly for girls....But, since I am a guy, I should argue.
I'm not though. I say it all depends on the types of books people enjoy reading. These ones just catch my fancy 3nodding

Definatly for both girls and guys. It's more directed to girls I guess but guys can like it too. Haha I know from experience xD When the (I call it "The Twilight Epidemic") swept our class I got 3 guys to read it and they absolutly adored it. And not just for it's vampires and what not...I actually think that they enjoyed the lovey dovey bits the most throughout the entire book ^^

I think it's for both. I got my friend's boyfriend to read it, and he's more of a macho guy. But as others have said, it all depends on their prefrences.

Well, they can be both. They are very emotional, and have romantic content, though it's not 'mushy'. A guy would have to be very mature, and able to handle emotional content. I don't think younger guys, would like it, or at least, a guy would have to be older to like it, than a girl would. 16 may work, but that's like, borderline.
The only male I know who enjoyed these books is in his fifties or sixties, so that may teach you something.
Anyway, I'm not saying that guys can't like these books. I'm just saying females seem to be more willing to read emotional books.

The book dosn't have to do anything with the gender of the reader.
just because girls are more romantic and ussually read about romance dosn't it make it a "girls book" there are some romantic boys too that like this type of book.
