Yes, I'm also into musical theatre. Unfortunately, my college doesn't do much when it comes to musicals. I'm thinking of doing one for my senior project, though.

Sadly, my college's musical theatre program is not the best musical theatre. You get alot of dancing class, but the main problem with it is that for the vocal part of the training. There are three vocal coaches on campus, but they all refuse to teach students anything but classical music. So the program is more for music PERFORMANCE majors that want to dance a little bit on the side. That's why I'm in the theatre program with voice lessons (from a teacher that is training me in classic and modern Broadway music) and I know a dance teacher that from time to time offers theatre dance classes. So I take from him.
We also only do a musical once every other year (Which is stupid because they only make money and get people to audition when they do a musical.) Last spring they did Peter Pan. Then next year, in the spring, we are suppose to be doing "Into the Woods." That's not been confirmed yet.

Yupper-Doodles, I'm in Musical Theatre. Right now my class is singing "Doors" from Closer Than Ever, "Coffee Break" from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and "A lot of Livin' To Do" from Bye Bye Birdie. They're all awesome songs.

Whenever I tell anyone that I'm in SoM, they say 'I LOVED the movie!' Well, I say Bah! to the movie. And Mwuah to the non-boobers. The Boob = the protruding hill that Maria uses in the song Sound of Music ^_^

I'm in a High School production of Quilters right now. It's funny cause that play is so feminine, out of a cast of 25 females, half the cast is on their period right now. Including the guy doing lights, appearantly. xp
About 3 weeks to a month from now, we're having auditions for the big musical which will be The Music Man. Fwee, it'll be exciting! I can't wait!
I love my school's theatre program. In fact, I transfered from another high school in the middle of my Sophomore year specifically for the theatre program.
Any of you familiar with high school theatre or college scholarship auditions are probably familiar with Bronwyn Hopton. Yeah. The one who can manage 12 fuzzuxing plays in one school year and has turned out as many theatre majors as a private New York performing arts school. That's right.
Do not disrespect the Hopton. She pwns j00r soul.

i went to IE's yesterday. our large group musical did really well (we're going to states!!! we were also a showcase nominee) i didnt get a superior or excellent on my solos song though sweatdrop
there was a guy from another school doing a monologue and during it, he stripped down to his boxers. everyone was all eek no one at his school (including the teacher) knew he was gonna do that.
