Kinnara sat in the garden. His ears hung low and his tail swayed side to side. He missed Aurora but on top of that he was still angry at himself for having that rat touch his lips in his dream. That rat stole Aurora from him. He hit his fist against the hard wood of the bench he sat on. Kinnara sighed. "I wonder will or does Aurora still like me or am I doomed to this exsistance," said Kinnara to himself in a low mutter.

Aurora strode into the scene his lute ever on his back a look of blankness carpeting his face. Deep in thought it was as if the teen was thinking of something very far away. What happened to those good ol' days when he was a kid?
Nightmares plagued him, he could find no rest from sleep nor rest in day. Even the day dreams were starting to turn ugly. A look of tiredness and a sigh which was equal in heaviness seemed to have been etched into his very being.
So absorbed he didn't even notice the people he walked past...

Kinnara gaze up at the sky. Clouds had formed and he boredly continued to stare. He knew that Aurora felt guilty for having feelings for him. A kid that is all he was thought of. He just wished he would become older. "Damn Rat. He cursed me at every turn. He takes my dreams and makes them nightmares. I want to be free of this. I want to be free," he said as he started to sob.

It was the sobs that caught him, like a sound that only he would catch in amoungst the crowd he stopped, turned and spotted a orange feline boy he reconized. Kinnara!
His heart lept at the sight and yet promptly sank into the bitterness that dwelled in his soul currently. But still it would be rude to see and not at least stop and say hello. Especially since the kid looked like he was crying.
Taking a breath as if hoping to gain more cuorage than he felt he went over to Kin and after a moments hesitation placed a hand on the boys head.
"It be a first that I have seen you cry.." Aurora said with a smile that seemed to wilt as soon as it arrived on his face.

Kinnara laid his head on his own lap and looked up at Auro. With Kinnara left hand he wiped the ears from his eyes. "I guess you came here to watch the poor little kitten cry himself infront of all these people," said Kinnara with his piercing red eyes. Kinnnara's red eyes were filled with loneliness

Aurora was a bit stunned at how broken Kinnara seemed. He felt the pang of regret for the deed he had done, had it broken his friend?
"Do you mind if i sit here?" he asked trying to change the subject, it was odd to see Kinnara cry, what happened to that tough boy he had first met? He had a sneaky suspicsion he was apart of the problem. Ha dhe been too absorbed in his own problems that he had unintentially ignored the boy? Most likely.

Kinnara vision was blurred with his tears. "I don't mind," said Kinnara scooting over a bit. His tail seemed limp with no life in it. He still have his head barries in his lap. In the back of his head the rat taunted him. He is only going to hurt you but I will keep here by my side you stupid cat, it would say. Kinnara tried to ignore it with no avail. Damn rat he thought to himself.

First things first he should porbably apologize. For what though? Aurora knew what he should apologize for, for leaving Kinnara alone. He ha done the same thing Medeine had done to him and he felt terrible about it.
He sat down beside Kinnara watching from the corner of his eyes the tears flow from the cat boys eyes.
"Kinnara...tell me your thoughts...your woes...and troubles." Aurora asked soothingly removing the lute from his back and laying the intsrument in his lap, he leaned back some looking into the sky. His blonde hair fell from his shoulders as a hand moved to tuck strands behind his ear.

"I think," he started as his crying caused him to sniff. He then paused and sat up. "I don't what to think. Maybe if I never got lost in the woods that day none of this would of happen. " He paused again. "Maybe I really a child but so what. Maybe that is all I will be. And my head has been painfully torturing me with nightmares. That rat. That blasted rat. He...she took you. From what I remember that rat was not a boy but a girl. When i was younger she took everything from me. My hope, my love, my future, but when i met you. I started over and forgot who I am. I still don't remember everything," he said huddling up in a little ball on the bench.

Aurora mulled over what Kinnara was saying and strummed a few cords on his lute. He had considered taking up flute lessons as well but was going to wait on it.
"Sometimes over thinking can be painful." he commented plucking a few cords and tuning his instrument. "I am glad to have met you Kinnara, and i would not wish to have never had stumbeled upon you in the woods."
A low tune hummed into life and then accompanied Aurora's low voice,
"Life is too short for regrets..." he paused a moment as Kinnara's changes the gender of the Rat. If he thought about it later he may make a connection on whom Kinnara was making a obscure reference too.
"Kinnara.." Aurora started and then stilled his fingers the music dying away and leaving just to two of them. "Have you ever thought...that perhaps you could be friends with this rat? Perhaps the rat is just as lonely, and perhaps desperate." He started and then leaned back against the tree. He looked up into the branches his thought starting to drift, but then he sharpened his resovle and tried to focus on the issue at hand.
"I am not taking the rat's side mind you, what he or she did to you must of been extremly painful if it causes you nightmares, but sometimes an old saying comes to mind...forgive..and forget."

Kinnara looked at Aurora with his crinsom red eyes. They shimmered in the sunlight. His hair then lightly shifted a bit. He knew that Aurora had paused when he said that the rat was female. "I wasn't talking about Mediene if that is what you thought," said Kin in a low voice.
"I have thought of it. But no she wasn't my friend. That rat would do anything to get ahead even trick a nieghbor." He then ran his right hand in his hair. He then sighed. His tears had stopped. "Have you ever heard of a cat and a rat being friends. Seriously Aurora. "
Kinnara stood up and then walked around a bit. More in circles then anything. His tail seemed to float in mid air and sighed again. He then walked up to Aurora who he had to look up to for he was about 5'5" and 13 years of age. "I just to let you know," he then kneeled down infront of Aurora as if he were bowing and lifted his head up. "When I become older I will become your knight and protector. I know it not much for a little kid to say but I feel I have cause you enough pain for one year. I want to move on. As your partern and your brother. If you will let me."

Aurora watched as Kinnara moved in agitation it seemed, when the name od medeine came into light Aurora blinked. Somewhere in the back of his mind it clicked in that moment, but he hadn't actually came to that conclusion as of yet.
"I had come to no such conclusion," he stated after a moment and then offered a half smile to the young boy.
"Funny enough I have seen weirder things, I have heard of a snake and a guiena pig being comrades, why not a cat and rat?" he offered as he had read a article the other day about a zoo snake that had befriended a guiene pig rather than eating it.
"Kinnara your friendship is something I hold dearly." Aurora stated as he looked into the youth's crimson eyes, "I will never forget that you helped me in many ways, but I feel it is i who wronged you. I ...perhaps am not in so desperate need for saving for as i look around me there are so many others with worries, woes and dangers that makes my own problems nothing. I want you to worry about yourself, I want you to worry for the weaker people in Hamlen. I do not wish to be rescued, but I will have you help me, in protecting others."

Kinnara stood up and then smiled. It was very happy. It seemed his sorrows had melted away. "Thank you Briar. You know what over this year i spent with you I learned that I shouldn't be selfish. " His crimision eyes shifted in the sunlight. "I think when you and Miedene had become such close friend I forgot that you and we are friends. Maybe when I am older I will under stand the world as you do." He then looked down at his feet. "I am sorry for any trouble I caused you. "

Aurora's smile became more happy and sincere as he say the dark cloud of depression start to lift from his young friend. He reached a ahnd out and pulled the young cat to him, basicalyl forcing the young charge to sit beside him.
He put an arm around Kinnara and then sighed. "Dear Kin, there is no trouble that I see you have caused, nor any wrongs. Be happy with who you are and be truthful. People will come to understand you are special, and then you will know the joy of having many friends." He said with a empathetic squeeze before releasing him.
He then scooted a bit over so he had more room to play his loot and strummed a couple cords.

Kinnara sat down at the tree. He then looked up at Aurora. "Hey Briar I have a small question. Do you have any powers?" He said because he himself had yet to discover any new abilities except for the one that came natural to him through instinct.
