Gerald Ford died this evening after decades of ill health.

The second Vice President for Richard Nixon's second term in the White House, he managed to torpedo his future by signing a pardon for Nixon's Watergate involvement. This single action doomed his future in politics, and he only served out the remaining two years of Nixon's term in office.

His was the most unique presidency, not having been elected vice president due to Vice President Agnew's and Nixon's resignations.

He is survived by his wife Betty.
