The World of Endar'ah - Continent of Althair
Born in the days of medieval
My inner voice
Is always asking why
I came from nowhere
Without a task, without a name
No fear of evil
Fate, so god please lead me through
Forgotten realms
Mysterious dreams
In sunless rooms I'd sworn
I'll finish that I started, once
I'll find my holy grail
In the holy land
Returning of the miracles
It's my own requiem
Born in the days of medieval
My inner voice
Is always asking why
I came from nowhere
Without a task, without a name
No fear of evil
Fate, so god please lead me through
Forgotten realms
Mysterious dreams
In sunless rooms I'd sworn
I'll finish that I started, once
I'll find my holy grail
In the holy land
Returning of the miracles
It's my own requiem
Like many world's... the History of the enchanted Realm known as Endar'ah, was written in blood.
The blood of kings and queens... of nobles... of peasants. None have been spared throughout the wartorn ages. Every class and clan will tell the story a little differently, their personal alliances and preferences shading the story to their own pleasure, But all are founded upon some semblance of truth and tragedy.

the Creation of Endar'ah
But before you can discover the story for yourself, you must first understand Endar'ah herself. I speak of the world as a being for indeed she was. She was the collective life of every person and creature ever to set foot, paw, or talon upon her earth, or swim in her waters. For life was created of her and so life also returned to her.
Despite her planetary form, it was said that Endar'ah was the first born of the elven gods Tilanth'ras and Endar'el. However, when Endar'ah reached womanhood and came into herself, Endar'el began to grow extremely jealous of her daughters youth and beauty. It was decided that Endar'ah was a goddess of fertility, her very essence seeming to breath life and beauty into everything it touched. Even though she too was an immortal deity, her mother percieved herself outshone by the glow of life that surrounded her daughter. Her jealousy and sense of being threatened was only furthered by the bountiful affections Tilanth'ras paid his firstborn, it seemed to her, that any neglect she suffered was because her husband instead spent time with their child. Eventually Endar'el began seeking affections elsewhere.
The pathenon consisted of many gods and goddesses. One, a young god of earth, sought the love of the beautiful young Endar'ah, It seemed to all the deity's only natural that she should be named his consort. Endar'el saw it as the chance to free herself of her daughter and to again have her husband's undivided love and pressed for a hasty union, the sooner she could be free of the girl the better. Endar'eh resisted however, for her feelings were directed elsewhere. Her mother would have none of it however. The pathenon approved and celebrated the match, for it would be a prosperous one... Or so they believed.
Endar'ah was all but given to the god, but miserable and bound lovelessly... she denied him everything. She would not touch him, would not speak. She cloistered herself up and barred him access to even her presence. It drove the young godling mad, and one day in the pinicle of a passionate moment, he would be denied no longer. He dragged her pleading to his chambers and there he took her by force, raping her.
Shortly after, Endar'ah's health began to wane. The ever-brilliant glow of life, dimmed. Her consort tried desperately to earn her forgiveness, but to no avail. There were two ways to kill a god. Generally, it was by the hand of another god or goddess... but rarely, a deity would will themselves into nothingness. Thus was Endarah's fate.
In a desperate attempt to save his love, for ironically... the earth deity did love her... he tried to bind her to a living force. The result however, was not what he had desired.
Endar'ah was bound to earth, sealed within earth's form. A planet. Still, the planet seemed lifeless. Nothing grew, nothing breathed.
When Tilanth'ras learnt of his cherished daughter's fate his rage would not be quieted. What truly happened is unknown... some say Tilanth'ras slew him, others say that he willed himself to fade as his love had. Either way, the only thing he wished, was to lay with Endar'ah eternally. The pathenon, granted the request and his body was commited to the earth of the seemingly dead planet.
Tilanth'ras grieved, as did many... for it seemed a light had truly gone out amongst them. He visited the planet often, like one would visit a grave. It was noted after the earth deity's death however, that it seemed always to rain in this world, where before there was nothing but the barreness of a desert. It rained for a century and then on the 100th year of Endarah's death, the floods cleared. The waters forming streams and rivers, lakes and oceans... Two months later on the anniversary of her consort's death, the world was transformed into a lush woodland. Emerald grasses carpeted the earth, trees and various vegetation sprang forth. Flowers bloomed and fruits hung ripe on heavily laiden vines.
During this time Tilanth'ras observed with awe. It startled him at first... to feel his daughter's presence return. But gradually he became accustomed to it. It seemed Endar'ah had found her peace at last.
One day when he came to visit her, he was surprised to hear voices. Hiding himself away he was startled to see a small group of humanoid creatures with long pointed ears.
They were delicate and perfectly proportioned. Fair faced and a vison of loveliness. Perfection. The were the physical embodiment of perfection. They looked, like gods. Indeed they even posessed magicks. But he knew they were not deitys... They did not posess that magnitude of power. Indeed their lifeforces where a third of what the god's posessed. But that would prove more than enough to sustain these beings for an existance long enough to be called imortality.
Born of Endar'ah and her consort, their 'children' populated the earth. children that would be known as the god's favoured ones and were thus called Elves.
