Any speculation about this event, its causes, aftermath, and the Doctor's fantastically angsty survivor's guilt. Something weird: Gallifrey is erased from time and space but the tree woman from End of the World knew what a Time Lord was and knew about the war. Was she one of the "higher races" that was effected during the War or something else?

I believe that the cause was the Daleks, since at one point the Doctor was sent backwards in time to put a stop to the Daleks evolution/creation. I think most of the creatures on the Platform that day were the higher races, most certainly the Head of Boe knew about it. I dont quite understand how Gallifrey can be erased from Time and Space but when the Doctor left Sarah Jane behind and went to Gallifrey it was there?
The war was fought through Time and Space I believe, and in the void, I dont quite understand how they can say Gallifrey was destroyed and that hte Doctor is the last Timelord, with the likes of the Monk, romana, The Rani and the Master roaming about neutral

I'm thinking that the Time Lords are sort of sealed off, so that what they had already done before the War still happened but no one can get to them. So while the Doctors who existed before the War were able to get to Gallifrey, the Doctors afterward can't get to it and can't sense the other Time Lords.
