The snow had finally calmed. Around the dead dirt of the forest area were sheets of pure white snow. The only part seeming to be untouched by the snow itself was the narrow road that led to the wooden/brick cottage by the murky swamp. Why was it untouched? It just was. Never question the forest and it's happenings. Or you'll end up apart of it.
Sitting on large rock outside the wooden/brick cottage was a young dark purple Numa female. She was not an ordinary one though. For the young female was a witch. Now she was not a famed witch, such as the infamous Coffee Witch. But she was well known for her history, magical powers and above all; maverick sense of life.
She was currently reading an old book of hers. Apparently it was a story book from when she was a young girl. Her father would read the book to her every year twice in December. It was the story of how a so called man was born and what happened on the special night that was known now as Christmas. Honestly she couldn't believe, looking back, that she ever believed such a ridiculous story.

Nalikai hummed a merry Christmas tune and he plowed through the snow, kicking up now on one side or the other. His face was half-hidden by a red scarf, a gift he had gotten from someone. It was a very useful gift, keeping his neck and face warm. He bounded along, almost playing in the snow, after all, no one was watching him.
He was too busy with his playing that he hardly noticed when he trailed into the forest where his dear friend, the witch Vyolett. With a soft chuckle he trotted down a path, too wrapped up in his memories of the festivities to notice where he was going.

Vyolett closed the book softly and sighed. Her breath made a small puff in the air around her and quickly washed away with the cold winter. That's when her ears perked up quite a bit and she looked around her. Someone was humming a tune. Great, it was probably those damn carolers.
Vyolett frowned in dismay and looked inside her pocket. With a sigh she jingled the bell bracelet that Nalikai apparently sent her. He probably wanted to know when she was near. Well everything has a use.
With the jingle shadows emerged from the trees. They were the wolves that lived in the outskirts of the forest. Never treading past the stone path to Vyolett's house. They needed their Christmas, and what better way was to eat the carolers that would always come to her door to annoy her. Everybody wins. Expect the carolers, though. They were eaten. She sighed and put the bracelet back in her pocket, watching wolves standing on the edge of the pathway.
Of course she wasn't done. The wolves wouldn't eat anything on the path unless it was down. With a smile she took out a golden whistle from her pocket and blew on it. A small out of tune whistle came through it. Suddenly a flock of ravens flew over her house. They were on their way to annoy pesky carolers. Vyolett smirked, knowing that the wolves and ravens would teach whoever was coming to never come near her house to carol.

Nalikai continued humming, sauntering along the snow-covered path. His golden-green eyes opened briefly in a precursory gesture just in case he was headed for a river...or a tree.
Crap.
He recognized his surroundings, and oh bloody hell dd he regret it. This is Vyolett's forest! He grimaced, "Time to make a hasty retreat," He murmured, carefully backing up and turning slightly. The unmistakeable caws of crows echoed across the forest.
Damn.
He growled s the malicious cawing came closer and pondered his options. He could run and possibly escape the forest before the ravens got to him but they could still follow him. The other option, was run headlong into them take a few out and get to the witch and have her call them off before dying. Frankly, neither option was good.
The black forms appeared in view and he snarled, Fine then, option two. Never really liked running much anyway. He leapt forward through the snow and down the path, his breath frothing in pufs of silver air. Attempting to reach the witch who was causing this.

Vyolett heard the caws becoming distant. Good, she thought boredly, at least the ravens can peck out some skin before the wolves devour them.
With a sigh she cracked her neck to her sides and started to go back in. But then she remembered that no caroler would be idiotic enough to go into the unknown forest. Maybe trick-or-treaters would be but carolers had some brain. They had to if they could memorize the tunes to the songs they sang. She then put a finger on her cheek to think of who it could be. It then sparked her mind that only one person knew about this forest and was foolish enough, to say the least, to come into these woods.
Nalikai.
She clicked her tongue and her face twitched uneasily. She knew he wasn't weak enough to die from the pecks of ravens so when he came here...
Oh crap.
Twitching her face back to uneasy fright she hurried into her house, praying that the ravens would devour him. But chances of that were quite thin.

Nalikai nipped back at one of the birds as it bit him, though he still continued his flight. Stupid things. With a growl, he leapt at one diving toward him. It let out an indignant sqwack which faded quickly as he cast it aside, a wing browken. "Get away from me!" He shouted, snapping at them again. They wouldn't cease and he mentally cursed at her. "Dammit Vyolett! Why do you always sick birds on me?" He shouted as he barrelled toward her house which was quickly coming into sight.
"Call off your stupid birds, Vyolett!" He shouted, "They're starting to get really annoying!" He leapt once more and tripped over a tree root.
"Oof!" He landed on his back and began wincing as the birds pecked, "Ow, ow, ow, ow, oowww!" He growled, batting them away, "Stupid birds! Stupid birds! Leave me alone! Go attack your witch!" He snarled up at them.

Vyolett was in a battle now. The battle was between her mouth and her laughs of enjoyment. Nalikai would get pissed off if she laughed, but not laughing would make her feel weird. So the battle was over. She laughed outrageously. With a sigh, continuing small chuckles she opened the door to her house.
"Say pretty please, Nalikai," she chimed happily in tune, a smirk frozen on her face and her closed eyes still lit in glee. She was having too much fun.
But whether or not he said it only a few moments after what she said the ravens flew off. She just continued her joyous giggling and sighed. "Thanks for the laugh. I needed some Christmas spirit."

Nalikai attempted to peer over at where Vyolett was, but was unsuccessful, the ravens kept getting in the way. However, he dd hear her laughter and her outrageous demand, "Over my dead body!" He snarled angrily. With a last swipe he watched the ravens fly away and got to his feet.
Shaking himself her turned and glared at her, "You have problems, lovely. Attacking innocent passerby." He grumbled, pawing off the snow that still clung to him. "Right, Christmas spirit." He sauntered toward her, "You didn't strike me as the type to celebrate Christmas, darling." He told her, watching her carefully with his golden-green eyes.

Vyolett sneered. "Well if you hum a Christmas tune then how am I suppose to determine if your a caroler or not?" Honestly she hated carolers enough to murder them all off the face of the planet. Anyone who caroled, especially if they caroled off tune, deserved to die.
"Plus I don't celebrate Christmas. My family did at one point, but then again," she shrugged with a pout, "being accused of a hell spawn when I was younger always put me in a fit with Christmas."

Nalikai snorted, "It's not my fault I get into the season." He shrugged, "Besides, everyone else is singing too, it gets stuck in your head after a while." He sat down next to her, "Sometimes, you need to lighten up, Vyolett. You'd be prettier then." He commented lazily. Not meaning much by it.
His eyes narrowed, "Indeed, such things are horrible, but the past cannot be changed, yes? Might as well live for the future." He responed, rotating a shoulder slowly. He was scratched and bruised from those damned birds and probably would remain that way for a while.

Vyolett crossed her arms and scoffed. "Why do you think I live in the forest, dear? It's bad enough I get trick-or-treaters on Halloween. Seriously the day after Halloween I was stuck swiping up three child corpses, because the wolves decided to have a snack that wasn't on the path," she paused and smirked. "Well maybe if you weren't so sarcastic you could get a date with a nice young girl."
She closed the front door, making sure the chilling wind wouldn't trespass inside and opened the living room light. Amazingly it wasn't a kindle of fire, but a real electronic lamp.

Nalikai rolled his eyes and smirked, "My dear, I hate to disappoint you, but I am hardly attracted to females." He shrugged and followed her inside, "And, of course, the same can be said for you with males. Perhaps someone who can take your abuse with a smile, then?" He suggested, golden-green eyes glittering with amusement. He licked his paws, cleaning one of the many scratches he had acquired from his little romp with the ravens. Lucky him.
"So, darling, how have you been since our last chat? Killing innocent children, perhaps? Or sicking more ravens on other numas?" He asked calmly, looking at his paw for more scratches. He was making honest assumptions, Vyolett had done too much to him for him to assume anything else.

Vyolett rolled her eyes. "How quaint. Didn't expect you to be gay," she shrugged. "Lucky you, I'm no homophobe. Unlike my family, with their ridiculous religious teachings. Besides, I can care less for love at this time in my life. Besides I'm over four-hundred years old. Unless guys now are into women my age I won't be going out any time soon."
She walked into kitchen, getting out some frozen dead animals. It was time to feed the alligators and crocodiles. Chuckling at Nalikai's assumptions she threw the dead animals into the swamp, watching a few alligators devour them quickly. "Well the only innocent children that died were trick-or-treaters. It seems they thought it would be fun to stay from the path," she giggled a bit, walking back into the living room. "Quite humorous, actually."

Nalikai smirked, "There's a lot you can't expect about me, Vy," He murmured lazily, licking a claw, "And too bad about your family, such intolerance can be used...." He cocked a brow at the door, mentally imagining the ravens being made into dinner, "... for better purposes." He shook himself and trotted after her as she opened her fridge, "Darling, you may be "old", and I use the term loosely, but you must know you don't look anywhere near it. Quite the opposite, actually." He smirked, "Though I wouldn't be someone to hold that up."
He wrinkled his nose, killing wasn't exactly his thing, "Indeed...." He murmured softly, watching her through the corner of his eye.

Vyolett scoffed. "It was old Salem times. Worship God on daily basis. Pray, go to church on the Sabbath and if any little girl or boy says that someone is a witch then they're a witch. Quite easy to fake possession of the devil. Scream, roll around like a maniac and say the witch put their spirit out on you," she shrugged, "I can't even count how many died during those times. Good thing I'm lucky."
She then chuckled as she came back into the kitchen and steadily closed her fridge. "That's sweet of you to say. In fact I have a small gift for you too," she said with a happy smirk.
