It was a game of tag.
Ai'shern had started it first, and Altessa, not to be outdone, soon tagged him in a most inconvenient way for him, and left the area in quite a flurry.
She was now walking down the hallway, her pace slowed, eyeing the different view. She had not been down this way before, and her tail lashed in warning as she felt the darkness drink the walls up.
Idly, she wondered if this was Tiil's area. Looking to one particular spot, Altessa sneered at the emblem there; there was now no mistake that this area belonged to Tiil.
She'd have to tell Kanth later.

Ai'shern didn't exactly understand his sister's actions, mainly because he'd never played tag in his life. However, he'd tapped her to get her attention, before jogging ahead up the stairs, only to have his tail pulled in response, and have her dart ahead, down a way he'd once travelled.
Of course, he hadn't gone very far into the hallway. Ai wasn't exactly timid, but he was wise enough to let things he didn't understand alone. Unlike his headstrong sister. Slowing down once he caught up to her, he also noted the mark and frowned slightly, his golden eyes scanning the surrounding darkness. This one wasn't the same as Curry, and he wasn't sure if he liked it.
Still, he wasn't about to leave Altessa.
"Tiil's dangerous."
Who knew what could be hidden down here?

"I know. But this won't harm us. Just Tiil." Staring through it, Altessa snorted and moved forward as if to plow right through it.
It was in her way, and she wasn't about to let it beat her.

Seeing what his sister had in mind, Ai'shern frowned, and quickly ran past her, to touch the darkness first. If something bad was going to happen, he wanted it to be to his body, not hers. The smaller twin disappeared into the murk, eyes closed, to burst through on the other side.
"... Altessa...?"

Hair standing on end, Altessa snarled and leapt in the darkness, pulling Ai'shern out as soon as she heard hacking and wheezing from her twin. As soon as she could, she took him away, throwing him clear of the shadows and sitting next to him within moments.
Her arm stretched out and wrapped around his shoulders, her body language soft but her eyes hard.
"That was stupid."
It was curious that she wasn't affected, as he was.

Leaning against his sister for support, Ai'shern wheezed for a brief moment, before mastering himself. Regarding the shadows with narrowed eyes, he bared his teeth, one of his rare shows of distaste. It had tried to suffocate him!
Standing, he grumpily moved away from his twin, feeling himself weaker, and stomped down another hallway, vaugly irritated.
"Not stupid. Didn't want it to hurt you."

More than slightly put out by his action, Altessa leapt up and followed, snarling as she turned to grab his arm. "Dai." She wanted him to stop, wanted him to talk to her.
She really didn't see what the problem was; it was her, she was investigating, and now she was going to rip Tiil a new one.
And now they were both fine. Why was he so angry? Was he angry with her, at her reckless behavior?

Instead of yanking his arm away, Ai'shern blinked his light-colored eyes at her, before stepping forward and hugging her. What a sweetie? Breathing in her scent, he was silent for a long time, before pulling back, and turning away, regarding the wall of shadows thoughtfully.
"What would you do if I died?"

Startled moreso by his words than his actions, Altessa stood there in deep thought, a frown gracing her face. Her eyes visibly softened, though the anger was still there.
"I'd make you live again."
