She sighed, looking over to her servant and longtime friend, Amelia, who was busy knitting. The captain burst in. 'The ship is under attack, hide, quick!' he cried and they ran out of the room. They went into the kitchen and hid in two empty flour barrels standing side by side. It seemed to go on forever, though it was really only ten minutes. Cannon shots were heard, screams, then shouts of triumph. Se couldn't tell who had won. Foot steps running to and fro, pounding up and downstairs, were heard. The door burst open, and heavy footsteps walked across the floor, stopping to examine this and that. The steps walked towards her barrel and stood right infront of it. She held her breath, heart pounding. The top was yanked off, and she saw a bearded face grinnig at her, before the top was slammed back on. He yanked open Amelia's barrel, and she heard Amelia's terrified scream. 'I found em!' he called out. Slow, steady footsteps were heard on the stairs.

I sounds pretty good. I haven't heard a story that goes on those guidelines before.
