A dingy looking restaurant sits in the backstreets of Los Angeles. Most would not even spare a glance at it, let alone enter it. This is the exact reason why it is so. This is the abode of the demons. The hellspawn sent to plague the planet and devour all sources of good.

The restaurant itself is just a guise, as it has hundreds of tunnels bored into the rock beneath it. These tunnels house everything that the demons need. Including a portal back to the dark realm, through which the demons first emerged. Parts of the tunnels are inhabited by the demons, while others of the species wish to live among the humans. These are not very respected by the rest of demonkind, as they are seen as going against the objective from which they were sent to accomplish.

In the heart of the catacomb of tunnels are two large doors. They stand, 10 feet tall, made completely out of steel. A forced entry is impossible, even for the most powerful demons. These are the home of the demon leaders, personal envoys form the abbyss that rule over all the demons aboveground. They are the only ones with the power to open these doors.

This is demon country...

Current Status: Before the morning newspapers even hit the wet dew of front lawns, the underground catacomb of demon dwellings rang in their silence, empty of all life. The High Demons' doors stood stolidly closed, no sounds coming from behind them. In almost all cases, the majority of demons were gone, happy with the evil done overnight, even if it wasn't their doing.

Cynder stretched her long, black neck and laid her spines flat against her neck. She went up to the large doors and placed her large, taloned paw on the middle of the right one. It creaked and swung open. She sighed happily and entered. The dragoness lay down, relaxing. Suddenly, she decided to leave back to where she came from - the burning fires of Hell. She disappeared back into the portal, as some disturbing news in Downtown Los Angeles reached her draconic ears...

The night was nearly over and the sun was due to rise in a few hours. Thus, the demons were returning to their abodes, their dark works completed for the night. A large amount congregated in the main central cavern underneath the restaurant to talk about their accomplishments of the day and further establish a higher spot in their hierarchy.

Strangely enough, there was a clock in this cavern, as even demons needed to tell time by the human standard of it. This clock let the demons know when it was safe to go out and at what times they should be returning.

At the moment, the clock was ticking towards 2, only being a minute off from its target. For an observer who knew what was going to happen, the minute would have passed quite slowly as the moment neared, but this was not so for the demons in the area. They had no idea that this would be the night they died, so the minute passed quite quickly for them.

Tick...tick...tick...

The second hand moved to the twelve and the time had come.

Small spheres had been embedded in the ceiling of the carvern, spheres that were now opening up. Once opened, a small nozzle appeared from their depths and began to spray a liquid down on the unsuspecting demons. All in all, it would not have been a lot from a single sphere, barely enough to fill half a glass, but there were over a hundred sphere embedded in the ceiling, enough to drench everything.

Smoke started to rise from the demons bodies and they looked around in confusion, then the pain set in. They started jumping around, trying to avoid the burning liquid that was destorying them.

Holy Water!!! one thought into the minds of the rest. Flames started appearing on the bodies of the demons and a few of the lesserones had already disintegrated,

As the strongest demons started to succumb to the fluid, they cried out at one, Mistress!!! This cry was sent straight in the mind of their leader, as the demons in the chamber burst into flames and dissapeared.

With the job accomplished, the spheres exploded, annihilating themselves completely.

Tick...tick...tick...

A lycan was walking slowly down the street towards the restaurant, obviously nervous. This was because he knew the place he was about to enter and he knew that he could quite possibly die. He doesn't pay me enough to do this...but I guess I have to do it anyways. With a gulp, the lycan walked into the restaurant and down into the catacombs below.

As he reached the main chamber below the restaurant, a smell of sulfer reached his nose. He also noticed that the gound was wet and there were scorch marks on the ceiling. What happened here? he wondered. He tasted the substance on the ground. Its just normal water...thats strange...unless!!! He looked around, but he didn't see anyone. They must have been hit as well. I must tell the Alpha, but I have to accomplish the task he sent me to do.

Well, here goes. "Cynder!" he called out as load as he could, his voice echoing through the chambers.

Cynder's gigantic head shoved it's way quickly to face the Lycan. Pushing her immense body through the doorway, she glared down at the Lycan who dared set foot at the Legion's Heart. "What is so important that you dare bother the demonic Cynder?!" she hissed menacingly, scraping her claws against the floor in a sign of displeasure. "If it is no good reason, I might not keep you alive." she added with a growl of mocking.

The lycan cringed in the draconic face that looked at him. "I-I was t-told by my A-Alpha to t-tell you that t-there will b-be a m-meeting between u-us, the v-vampires, and, w-we were h-hoping you, a-as well," he was able to stammer out. May I please be able to see the light of the moon again, he prayed in his mind. "I-In light of the m-many deaths that h-have been o-occuring, as I-I can see h-here, as well," he continued, pointing at the damp floor and the scorched ceiling.

Cynder narrowed her eyes. "Why should I meet with Lycans and Vampires?" she asked disdainfully. "Ah... You wish to see the light of moon, don't you?" she glanced up at the darkened sky. "This does not seem as dire importance to me. I grow bored. I give you a few moments to explain why I should go, else you won't live to see the next moon." she threatened menacingly, baring her sharp fans that dripping with the blood of her savage enemies.

The lycan became even more afraid with what Cynder said, but he seemed to have finally found his courage and his stammering stopped. "Well...for a couple of reasons. First, because of the deaths that I believe happened here, which have also happened to us and the vampires, if you didn't know. And my Alpha mentioned to me that it may have something to do with Europe and the destruction of all the Immortals there. Coming from what he said, this may lead to the extermination of all of us. He wants that to not happen and so he wishes for your helpin saving your race and the rest. Will...will you help?" he asked, a hopeful tone in his voice. He knew that if she replied no, then he would be dead and his mission failed. I just hope that failing this mission doesn't mean the destruction of everything...

Cynder laughed harshly. "What does your Alpha care about demons?" she hissed in fury. "What care does he have that he wishes to save my race when there are few of us left anyways?" she added with a cynical smile. "But, I am intrigued a bit, so tell me more about this. I wish to know more so I can make my decision."

The lycan was beginning to become angry at Cynder in her aloofness and suspicions, something that he couldn't keep from his words when he spoke to her next. "It is true that my Alpha most likely wishes mainly to save our race, but he isn't stupid! He knows that it will be nearly impossible for us to do it on our own and thus, wishes for your help. We are not the only ones that need help, you are as well! If you refuse this request of friendship and peace, then you are the idiot instead and you would be dooming all of your brethren to death! The choice is yours..." He finished, staring directly at her, all forms of fear wiped away. When a lycan became angry, he no longer cares for the consequences of what he does or says.

After he finished speaking, he realized what he had just said, but he knew he couldn't take it back now. He waited, wondering what it would feel like to have his flesh burned away.

(So, does Cynder the character relate to courage, in this case anger, better? wink )

Cynder gave the lycan a cynical smile, and spat the burning fire on the ground beside the lycan. It splashed up toward his arm. "Ah... Now, finally, I can see you truthfully. Your fear disguised your true ability to be courageous." The dragoness narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. "Alright, I will come. But if anything happens, nothing can stop my fury and, in this case," she stated coldly, gesturing at the boiling liquid that ate away at the ground where it landed. "That poison." She shoved her whole bulk through the doorway. Her scales shone with an eerie light, and a depp raven-black. They rattled slightly when she twitched her tail boredly. "I'm waiting. Show me the way, lycan, or I won't have a guide anymore." she smiled menacingly.

(( Not really - she couldn't tell that the Lycan wasn't covering up his true emotions until he got rid of his fear. xd ))

The Lycan stepped back in alarm at the fire that spashed next to him, the heat splashing over his fur. He expected after this to be entirely engulfed in flame, so he was surprised at what Cynder said next. "You will?!" he exclaimed in astonishment.

Then, when she told him to hurry up, he did. "Yes, yes of course. Uh...this way," he walked swiftly, still completely overwhelmed that he had actually accomplished his mission. Thank you...

Cynder grinned to herself, and nodded her head in satisfaction. The dragoness followed the Lycan.

(As leader of the guild, I give myself permission to be here. xd )

Silver stopped outside of the restaurant, this being the limit of his knowledge on the demon's abode. He had no idea who...or what he would find when he stepped inside, but he knew that he needed to find Cynder. The door to the restaurant swung open noisily as he pushed on it, obviously not having been used in a long while. I suppose they have another way of entrance and don't use this.

He stepped through the empty facade of a restaurant and went through a back door that was supposed to go to the kitchen, though it didn't. Instead, it led to a rather large tunnel that sloped down into the earth. Silver walked along this nervously and glanced around him from time to time. After a few minutes of walking, he arrived in the main chamber of the demonic horde's tunnels. It had been many hours since the deaths of the demons in this chamber and nothing could be seen now of what happened, but Silver knew nonetheless. His lycan officer had informed him on what had transpired down here.

"Cynder!" he called out once he reached the middle of the chamber. Maybe this wasn't the place she returned to. Maybe her magic sent her somplace else? If this was true, then he knew that he had no chance of finding her. "Cynder, are you there?!" he called out once more. He was ready for an attack at this point, as her anger against him wouldn't have faded that quickly. Actually, he was ready to let her have a free shot at him; he felt that he deserved that much.

Cynder hung suspended from the roof like a bat, except all her talons were latched onto the supporting beam. Her wings curled around her, and there was no noise. She opened her mouth, and spat sizzling poison at Silver. "What are you doing here? If my demon hordes ever find out, there'll be nothing I can do to help you! When they smell anything other than demon, they won't listen to me, let alone anyone." she hissed.
