What's with all the Smart parts hating?
I personal like their products, their Freak barrel kit is one of the best barrel systems i've used next to the Hammerhead. The majority of my dislike for SP comes from the fact that SP now owns the NXL wholey AND TWO teams in the NXL and has managed to run the NXL downhill SO much that the original Miami Effect team defected and left for the NPPL (
now team Infamous). Basically it breaks down like this: Billy Gardner owns two NXL teams (
Phillidelphia Americans and Detroit Strange) and is slowly killing the league out of greed. So much so that winning teams aren't even being paid the money they've "won!" All they care about is money, their stupid TV deal that will only make SP richer, and they've been suing companies left and right for things that are "vauge infringments" of their patents. Most of it is an arrangment of clever scare tactics designed to make smaller companies (
Evil and their Evil Pimp marker which they "clamed" was infringing on patents) cave to their demands since the smaller companies can't really fight them in court due to money.
It's getting so bad now that even Bob Long and his Oakland Assassins and several other teams are thinking of defecting from the NXL permenantly. In fact, when the original Miami Effect defected and played in the NPPL, the NXL banned them for a year for playing in another league. After several other players threatened to quit, the NXL and Billy Gardner finally relaxed the rule and allowed other teams to play in other tournaments. The crappy thing is, they didn't UNBAN team Infamous! They're still banned for a year from the NXL.
All Billy Gardner cares about is getting richer at the expense of the players and the NXL. The TV deal, while a great thing for getting our sport out there, is only going to make money for SP and their evil regime. On top of that, people go around claiming the SP Impulse is this "great mid-range" marker, when in fact it's the biggest ripoff out of the box. Base price for the marker WITHOUT EYES is $499, when other guns WITH EYES and better features run between $450 - $550. If you want to play any sort of serious play with the IMPULSE you have to dump about two-three hundred more dollars into the marker to solve the first-shot dropoff issue and get a new LPR. It's a pile of crap and they're making an killing off of a poor product.
Smart Parts, in my opinion, has shown it's true colors through it's actions. I personally choose not to support them or their products. I will not attend NXL games, nor will I purchase SP products.
THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION AND I AM IN NO WAY ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT OR DEMANDING YOU DO THE SAME.
I'm just giving you reasons for the "hate." =)
