It was about time, Mag thought. She had finally met up with the kid again and was ready to hunt Uten down. It had been a while since the whole group was together again and the kid had shot up a few feet. She scowled and bent over to take a drink from the river. As if she needed to feel even shorter. Mag was a little smaller than most genets were, even though she was actually rather old. Older than Uten anyway.

"Ready to go?" She said after she stopped drinking. "I've got a lot of animals to save from the man. Chop chop." Ever so patient, Mag was.

User ImageUten was actually on his way over towards the river. He was so excited to have made a new friend in this Alana leopardess. Even more so since she could maybe help him fix his problem. And the more people to help his spread peace to everyone the better!

But now he was ready to see his old friend Mfuto again. He sure hoped the cub recognized him. He had gotten a little bigger... And his mane sort of filled out.. But he was still the same Uten! He adjusted the crown of flowers on his head and looked over at his new friend. "Just wait until you meet them.. They're so great. Mag might be a little weird.. But I'm sure Mfuto will love you!"

Mfuto had already drank his fill in his time at the river. God, it had been a long time, lots of adventures had been had. Now he was finally rejoining his friends, and he wasn't quite sure what to think. Truth be told, he was a little overwhelmed at the thought of it, he'd been so long without him. All he could think coherantly was that Mag was an awful lot smaller than he remembered her.

He watched her drink for a while, with the unappologetic sort of stare that only the truly innocent can get away with. It took him a second to snap back to reality when Mag asked him the question. Eventually, gradually, he came back into focus and murmured, "Huh? Oh... yeahs. I guess so." He smiled sheepishly, "Thankies fer comin' ta find me, Mag. I didn't think I'd sees you guyses agains." He was always a little unsure on his feet when he was around Mag. She was a little scary, and she unnerved him.

Alana nodded not saying much. Truth be told she was terrified. She was a nervous girl, shy and definatly not one who was outgoing or anything like that. She would much rather curl up somewhere away from this meeting. Maybe if she had bumped into this other in some other way things might have been different but, she was now terrified.

"Lets hope he likes me then.." She gulped and followed the adult lion while watching for the leopard she had promised to help find.

"Yeah yeah.." She muttered, starting to walk. As much as she would absolutely never admit to it, Mag kinda liked the guy. He had a nice uncorrupted, innocent feel to him. Easy to maniuplate. That's what she liked the best about innocents.

"Uten said he's be over in that direction," She said, pointing off one way. "Actually.." She peered off into the distance. A white and purple shape could sort of be seen. She was about to get Mfuto's attention, when a gray shape came into view next to him. "What's all this, then?"

User Image"Oh he definitely will!" Uten said, nearly jumping with excitment. "He's an innocent little thing, I don't think he could ever not like anyone!" The aniticipation was killing him. He continued on, he could see the river now. That was one of the places Mag said she was going to look.

And sure enough, as he moved closer he could make out a little lion who he automatically identified as Mfuto. "There they are!" He said and looked back at Alana quickly, before turning ahead again. "Mfuto, Mag!" He shouted, starting to run towards them.

Good luck corrupting Mfuto, Mag. He has roughly the same cognative capacity as a coconut. Odds are that, no matter what she got him to believe, he'd never be able to do her any use anyway.

He looked in the direction Mag had indicated and saw an approaching shape. The shape was big, fuzzy. He squinted and looked around it, trying to find some identifying feature. Was this someone new, perhaps? A new friend? Then he saw the diamonds and triangles... and he associated it with the colors... could it be? It was still fuzzy in his mind, but could it be?

Then Uten called his name, and Mfuto knew for sure it was his long lost friend. He'd recognize that voice anywhere. Mfuto gasped and squealed shrilly, then sprinted headlong at Uten, stumbling a bit as he went, tail flagging behind him. It would have been nice, probably, if he'd remembered to stop, but the thought failed to occur to him. He managed to plow right into Uten's chest at full speed and fall over backwards. However, it didn't seem to bother him in the slightest. Soon he was right back up on his paws again and hugging Uten's leg. "UTEN!!!" he shrieked. "I MISSDED YOU!" He looked the older lion over, grinned, then commented. "You's all fluffy." He was so delighted and overjoyed to see Uten that he didn't even notice the newcomer at Uten's side.

Alana was happy to not be noticed. She hadn't ran with Uten but just trotted after him. She really didn't want this meeting to happen so when she was ignored she suddenly felt alot better.

She hung back and watched for a while, they were close and she suddenly felt really bad joining them, well she wasn't. She was only joining in to find this leopard.

User ImageUten laughed and wrapped his free arm around the cub. "I missed you too! Looks like you got bigger." He said in return to his 'fluffy' comment. "Good thing Mag found you, we might've never seen each other again!"

He could see how shy Alana looked beside him. "Mfuto, Mag, this is Alana." He said, nodding his head towards her. "I said we'd help her find another leopard." He smiled.

Mag rolled her eyes and climbed up onto Uten's head. He was asking for trouble, dragging some new girl into all this. Here they were, all back together, and now they had someone new to deal with. She scowled. Sometimes she just didn't get why the lion felt the need to help others all the time.

Mfuto's heart was stuffed full of a warm, fuzzy sort of joy, the sort of which he rarely felt. In fact, this was sort of like what he assumed a family reunion would feel like. He'd never had a family reunion before... his family was kinda, sorta dead. But this was just as good! He listened to Uten a moment and thought a bit. "Maybes we didn't get bigger," he stated. "Maybes the rest of the world jus' got smallers." He nodded. It sure made sense to him. In fact... "That would a'splain why Mag hads such a easy time findin' me." He beamed up at Mag, who he loved as part of is pseudo-family, even if she did scare him.

Now was time for introductions. Uten pointed out the leopard girl to Mfuto and he turned to stare at her, curiously. The stare didn't mean anything bad, really; again, it was simply the result of pure innocence. "Alana..." Mfuto parroted the name quietly, then declared, "Hi's, Alana! I's Mfuto!" He stood tall and puffed out his chest--a force of habit durring introductions ever since he'd met Usare the serval. He then relaxed a bit and, briefly confused, inquired, "Miss... what is you?" Then turned to Uten, equally as confused, and asked, "Whass a leopard?"

Alana relaxed a little as the other lion seemed to like her but his confusement just confused her.

"Hey.... I am a leopard... just another big cat." She looked a little nervous again and shifted her weight from one side to the other. She hadn't met anyone who didn't know what a leopard was and it made her a little uneasy, not that she wasn't uneasy anyway but it confused her for someone not to know of her kind.

User Image"That sounds pretty good." He said, a big grin pasted accross his face. "Maybe the world will keep getting smaller until only we exist on it.." He mused aloud, then shook it off and looked back to the cub. "Except that might be kind of lonely. So I think it should stay at the size it is now."

His gaze shifted to Mag and he beamed at her. "She did a good job at finding you. I knew she would."

She mumbled a sort of 'whatever' and sunk into his mane. "I had to make sure I found him before the man did. Who knows what might've happened to him."

Uten laughed a little at Mag. That was her way of saying she was worried about Mfuto, and he knew it.

He turned back to Mfuto and then to Alana. "Leopards are kind of just like lions. I think she'll fit in with us pretty well, which is good, because she may be with us for a while."

Mfuto nodded thoughtfully. Uten was so smart! He always thought of things Mfuto himself could never think of. "You's right, Uten," Mfuto agreed. "I likes the world the way it is." He stood firmly and looked down at his feet. "Yous hear that, world!?" he hollered. "Yous should stay jus' this sizes! Please 'n' thankoo!" He sat, satisfied. Hopefully the world would listen to his request.

Then, he smiled up shyly at Mag. "An' thankoos, Mag," he said quietly. He was never quite sure about this "the man" Mag spoke of, but Uten had told him quite firmly to ignore it, and that's what Mfuto tried his best to do.

He glanced at Alana again, wide-eyed with curiosity. "So... you's a leopard? I thoughts yous was an Alana," he declared. Then Uten clarified, and understanding finally dawned on Mfuto. "Ohhhhhh!" he said, then smiled. He liked meeting new people, especially different kinds that he'd never met before. "You's awful pretty, miss. I like you," Mfuto said plainly, with an earnesty you can only get from a child-like mind. He glanced back at Uten, "How longs does you think? Very long, very very long, or forevers?"

Alana would have blushed but yet it wasn't really something she would have done. She just smiled and nodded a thanks. It seemed that not everything was going to be as hard as she had expected, but then again, things were never as they seemed.

She just lurked around and waited to be spoken about, that way she was safe in what she didn't say!

User ImageUten smiled and pat Mfuto on the head. Just what would he do without this guy? He was so glad they were all back together. And he was going to makre sure that they stayed together for a very long time! "Let's hope the world listens. I'm sure it's pretty set in it's own ways sometimes.."

The little genet peered out from behind tufts of mane, her scowl still plastered accross her face. "Whatever."

He ignored Mag for the time being and instead focused on Mfuto's question. How long would Alana stay with them? He wasn't sure.. All he knew was that Alana was definitely going to help him, and the thought of just being normal excited him. Gone would be the days of him being a freak. It was such a nice thought.. And soon it would be reality.

"I'm not sure, Mfuto." He said, glancing over at Alana out of the corner of his eyes. "Why not ask her?"

Mfuto smiled when Uten patted his head, though the adult's big white paw was practically the size of skinny little Mfuto's whole head. Uten knew how to be careful with Mfuto, though, and Mfuto trusted him not to squish him like a bug. "I's sure it listended," Mfuto said confidently. "I told it in mah tellin' voice, not mah askin' voice." He nodded, and remembered something vague about his father distinguishing between 'asking' and 'telling'. He could not, though, for the life of him, remember the situation.

He giggled at grouchy Mag and pressed his paws to his mouth. "Yer silly," Mfuto said quietly, almost whispering, as though the thought were confidential. When they were with Uten, for some reason, Mag just seemed a lot less scary.

Uten did not answer his question. This seemed unusal to Mfuto; he'd become convinced that Uten had the answers to everything. He was awfully, awfully smart, anyway. He cocked his head off to one side with curiosity when Uten told him to ask quiet Alana. "Okay," Mfuto finally said. He turned and walked up to Alana, sat directly in front of her, and looked her in the eyes. He cleared his throat once, politely, and then inquired, "Miss Alana, how longs does you think you'll be width us? Very long, very very long, or forevers?" He waited patiently for reply.

Alana wasn't overly happy about having the question transferred onto herself but she answered with all honesty.

"I do not know. It depends on how long your friend needs me for." She spoke softly hoping that the way she answered it would just throw the questions back again, she was happy being invisable.
