On the stadium sound systems the sounds of what was horns would play loudly in a slow rhythm. Accompanied by the sounds of a symbol played constantly by drum sticks, the sounds would play for about ten seconds before the rolling of a human's tounge would be heard. "R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-RAAAAAAAAAAPIDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO." as this came the familar entrance song of John Cena My Time Is Now would play loudly as Arian would walk to the entranced. Stoping to give a slight salute to the crowd who might watch, he would continue on his way again. Dressed in a simple of pair of black shirts and wraps on his hands and feet, Arian was dressed simple. Strapped to his back in its sheath would be a black steeled katana. Yeah Arian got his memory back.

In responce, the Imperial March would kick up over the loudspeakers as the second combattant entered the arena. Dressed in a black hooded cloak he walked out from the doorway and into the open like a blank, emotionless soldier marching to the beat. His face was covered by the hood of the cloak, and he said nothing at all until, finally -
"LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN!"
The man unclasped the cloak and threw it into the air in one motion; dropping into a low posed stance with one leg bent, one outstretched, and one hand on the ground. The music switched, the beat picked up, and now the two fighters stood in the ring with the theme of Rocky playing over the speakers.
Joshua took one look at the opponent and sized him up on the spot, before the cloak even hit the ground a dozen feet away. The first thing he did upon standing was remove the sword strapped over his shoulder and drive it tip-first into the sand beside him deep enough so it would stand freely. Then he pulled the bracers off of his forearms and tossed them to the side, onto the puddle of black fabric in the middle of all that sand.
"I hope you've got your drinks, your hotdogs, and all the nachos you're going to need... because there's no leaving your seats for the main event!"
That was enough. He slipped his right foot back into a left side stance and raised his arms with half-closed fists. Yeah, there were some people in this thing that could wipe out the whole building, and he was one of them... but Arian had showed up with his fists wrapped, which meant he was intending to use them. How could Joshua deny him that? This was what fighting was all about.

Now this was the way a fight was supposed to commence. The sword which was strapped to his body was quickly removed and tossed over his shoulder without care. It would land with a rather dull thud on the ground behind him. Walking over towards his opponent (whether you move to meet him or not its still going to be the same distance), he would come to a stop about 5 yards away from his opponent.
A slight head nod as a sign of respect, he would assume his fighting position. Both hands raised about chest level, the left hand near his chin while his right extended, he would take on a converted southpaw stance. His feet sliding about shoulder lenght apart, his left (back) leg would be pointed about 45 degrees from his body while his right (front) would be pointed towards his opponent. He would wait till he saw his opponents stance before he launched an attack.

He wouldn't let his opponent be the only one to take a good many steps away from the cast-aside weapons, everything was met halfway, as it was only good form to do so.
Joshua was in a left side stance... a term he used to describe his own preferred fighting style. It involved him standing sideways with his left side facing the opponent. The left foot forwards, feet slightly wider than the shoulders, with the toes slightly pointed outwards and the knees slightly bent. Everything was just slightly off from a casual stance, because this style of fighting was purely casual. His right hand was held halfway up in front of his stomach with an open fist, his left arm was extended out between the two of them with the forearm vertical and another open fist.
The two of them were poised and ready, it could have been a staredown if it weren't for the satisfied expressions they both had despite what may come. It was almost like they were waiting for someone to fire the starter pistol.

He would attack first of course since all he was waiting for was the positioning of his opponent. It would play very well into his fighting style.
Shifting forward as he quickly moved himself into arms distance for both men, he would bob left and right twice (left first, right second) while coming in. This was to avoid any attacks and give his opponent the impression that was how he was going to fight for the rest of the bout. But on his second bob right instead of moving back left, he would shuffle slide to his right, his opponents left. Since both men backs would be facing the same direction, Arian would be trying to move to his opponents backside as he snapped out a quick slip jab towards his opponents jaw.
Because of his opponents rather wide base compared to Arian's smaller base, Arian would have the advantage of moving at a slightly faster place. So there was a small chance he could get to his opponents backside, before he could fully turn to keep up with Arian, and land his attack with ease. But it was only a jab, so no knock out should occur.
Offensive Move Slip Jab to the opponents backside.
Attack Target Opponents Jawline
Estimated Damage Slightly stunned and soreness
:A slip jab is when you move to your opponents backside and try to throw a jab over their shoulder.:

*TIME REWIND MOMENT*
As the damned music of John Cena played, it would suddenly stop, gunshots filling the air. Then, new music would start up, but this time to the western, John Wayne-ish music of John Bradshaw Layfield. Ah yes, Robert had been owned.

*TIME REWIND MOMENT*
As the damned music of John Bradshaw Layfield played, it would come to a stop when suddenly: ninjas! Hundreds of them.

After taking over the sound booth, they hit the speakers up with Turtle Power. The Foot Clan had arrived. Arian had a good set of movements going for him and a decent grasp on how to pull a feint, which was a lot more than many of the fighters (read: punk kids with powers) around here seemed to be capable of. However, he'd been watching his opponent's feet too much, and had neglected to give the stance as a whole the attention he should have. The jab would go wide, Joshua turning his waist just a bit to the left and bringing the outside of his elbow against the inside of Arian's arm. Because he'd guarded with his elbow, rather than his hand, that still left his forearm available, and on the inside of Arian's right. With a snap of the wrist, he flicked out a backhanded jab towards Arian's chin with the left hand. Arian had his left near his chin, and obviously it would be a simple thing to guard a jab. Already, though, Joshua was sliding his left foot in, skimming it over the surface of the ground to bring his stance base closer under Arian. If Arian did block the jab with his left, Joshua would twist his left ankle in and use the shift in his hips to throw out a fast strike with his right; not aimed for Arian but to slam the heel of his right hand against the heel of his left and drive all three hands, both his and Arian's left, into Arian's chin.

The fun parts about Jabs is the fact that they were quick punches. Also turning your waist just a bit never put sufficent force behind such a block as that, but we move on.
Buy the time his opponent was bring his elbow against Arian's arm, Arian would be retracting the punch... such was a jab. He brought his hand back so that his elbow stuck out towards his opponent and the hand was turned towards his face. So when his opponent flicked out a back hand, he would find that Arian's right hand was slamming down on top of his fist. During the move right, he would quickly stop upon his step and pivot his hips and torso to the right.
The slam down on top of the fist would more than likely cause a slight disruption in balance, if not it wouldnt prevent the next move from occuring. Because of the pivot of his hips and torso, Arian's right foot would be forward, his left back (everything still shoulder lenght apart). Pushing off with his left foot about the same time, he would flick his right hand back up. The right hand would land on the outside of Joshua's right forearm so that the blow moved outside of Arian's right shoulder. He would also be throwing a left hook to what would now be the exposed ribs on Joshua's right side. Both the hook and block would be re enforced by the pivoting of his hips and torso.
Defensive counter Down block and outside Cresant block
Offensive counter Hook to the ribs.
Estimated Damage Soreness in Ribs possible breakage (depending on if you drink your milk or not xd ), shortness of breath.

That was the great thing about jabs, though... they were fast. A jab thrown a moment after a jab is thrown will not be intercepted by that hand. An arm moved into the path of a jab will either stop it, give in to it, or deflect it. A jab moved into the path of a jab would leave that first hand chasing the second on the way back... and that was the way it would be.
There would be no right hand to smack it down, there would be no sudden reversal with a second jab immediately after that. If Arian expected to have a fully extended arm at his chin faster than another man could extend his that far, he was punch drunk before even stepping in the ring.
The hook, however, was founded on a much more sound principle. It wasn't about who's arm moved faster, it was about seeing an opening and driving full-force into it without looking back. Joshua had stepped in, Arian had pivoted, there was really nowhere else to go.
Thk.
The sound of the impact was much less than Arian would have hoped to hear... Joshua had his right prepared to move on the second have of his strike already, but seeing the twist, not only in the shoulders but also in the hips of Arian, the move was all but shouted. Rather than driving his right upwards as he had intended, the motion quit halfway and he swung out. It wouldn't be enough to completely stop a hook with that much body mass behind it, but it would be enough to drop it to a meaningless love tap.
The back of Joshua's forearm would knock against the crook of Arian's elbow when the hook came in; both to provide a preliminary impact and resisting force against the hook, and to provide a firm 'ground'.
Joshua picked up his right foot. Rather than stepping back, he was using the force of Arian's hook and his own arm as a 'leg' in order to drop his body back and absorb he impact. His right foot touched ground again a moment later, and several feet from where it started... in a new direction altogether.
Meanwhile, he kept his eyes to the left, and his left hand drawn back in a familiar guard. Arian still had an unrestrained right hand.

Josh would have been better served to keep his foot on the ground and take advantage of the short distance between himself and Arian. Because the moment he moved to pick up his foot he would find that Arian was on the move again. Given that Josh was spending to much time trying to move his entire body (the forward motion to the backwards motion, constant flailing of arms to block attacks) while Arian was simply doing smaller controlled movements (hooks and jabs), Arian would have time to initiate this attack and have a high possibility of landing it.
Josh had been in a forward motion to attack and then stop the attack short to block Arian's attack, that would mean that slightly after the block and Arian hand starting to return, Arian would start the combo. Lifting onto the balls as his body lunged forward to compensate for the starting movement of Joshua's step back, Arian would unleash a devastating right hook towards his opponents jawline/neck region. If would mean that just a moment after Josh's right foot returned to the ground, the launched attack would land as Arian's left hand would be drawn back to his body in a guard position. The direction of the blow was towards the carotid artery and thus the effects of being struck in such a place would take effect.
Offensive Attack Lunging hook.
Estimated Damage Sore neck/jaw, blackout due to the fact that a carotid artery houses a baroreceptor. The baroreceptor in the carotid artery is pressure-sensitive, allowing the body to control the bloodflow into the brain. Pressure against this region will 'trick' the body into thinking that blood pressure is too high, and thus will constrict and lower blood pressure - which would be the cause of the blackout.

themightyjello Meanwhile, he kept his eyes to the left, and his left hand drawn back in a familiar guard. Arian still had an unrestrained right hand. Two jabs thrown at the same time, two jabs retracted at the same time, obviously the two arms would be ready to act again at the same time. Joshua shrugged. His left shoulder came up and he raised his left arm; using the elbow and the back of the arm to attempt and push the punch away as it came in, and though it was unlikely that it would be stopped, with a hunk of shoulder blocking access to the jaw and neck Arian's blow would hit the back of the shoulder at an extreme angle. Likely, it would slide off after the initial impact. However, Joshua now had his elbow up, on the inside of Arian's right arm. It was a simple movement to hook it over, pull down and back just enough to clear room, and then shove off on the ball of his newly planted right foot. Offensive Attack Boxing his ears. Estimated Damage Arian would get punched in the ******** ear. That stings like a mofackey.

Movement that required time and space. Remember: a.thomas Lifting onto the balls as his body lunged forward to compensate for the starting movement of Joshua's step back, Arian would unleash a devastating right hook towards his opponents jawline/neck region. Which meant that Arian had moved in and used the strenght of his punches and his body weight in order to deliver such a blow. Given that most indivdiuals (and Im saying most since obviously this doesnt apply to you..[/sarcams]) when your stepping back while blocking, you have to reposition your body to compensate for balance... Josh should have been knocked sideways even if he "blocked" the blow with his arm and shoulder (though my blow would obviously be coming with greater force than you could produce with your block with no said movement other than the raising of your arm and shoulder)... but we move on.
The fact that Josh would try to do something as moving Arian's arm while both individulas were in close range was rather funny. Arian would allow his arm to be hooked over and pulled down, letting just enough give for Josh to think he had Arian where he wanted him. In truth he could have just launched a quick jab at Josh's throat and being that they were in such close vacinity, he could pull it off without a hitch (remember I lunged at you, thus we are now standing only mere inches apart.. not feet). Matterfact lets do that.
Given that Joshua had one arm preoccupied, and he let Arian's left hand returned to its original guard, Arian would take advantage of this fact. He would reach to grasp the underside of Josh's upperarm. During Josh's push off with his right foot, Arian would stick out a short stiff jab towards his opponents adam's apple... well more like the side of it. He would shift his right leg back a few inches to open up his stance sideways, using his hooked hand to help pull Josh along into the path of the blow. Rotating his shoulders slightly with a short swivel in his hips, he would aim the jab right towards front right of Josh's throat.
Offensive Counter Slight pull with stiff jab.
Attack target Neck Region
Estimated damage Loss of breath, sore neck, black out.

The thing was... none of that balance crap applied to Joshua. The reason was simple enough, perhaps so simple that it was overlooked. Any force from Arian's punch that moved Joshua would have moved him 'forwards and to the right' due to the angle at which everything was going at... the very same direction that the ear-punch was going. Considering nothing more is said on the subject, we can only assume that Arian got punched in the ear. Estimated damage Disorientation, ringing in the ears Given that Arian's right arm was behind Joshua's back at the time, it can only be assumed that Arian was doing whatever he was doing with the left. Well, where was Joshua's right at this time? Between them. Specifically, between Arian's left and Joshua's chest. Matterfact pretty much nixes a possibility of a clean hit if there was any hit at all... But, hell, why not. Arian could get his neck punch. However, Joshua would get one as well. You know, since they were so close and it was practically impossible to avoid one, especially with both arms occupied. A. Thomas Offensive Counter Slight pull with stiff jab.
