Boredom wasn't even near what Gabriel felt; probably best described as something half between annoyance, slight disgust and restlessness. Truth be told, he'd never liked Christmas. Or rather, that wasn't exactly right; saying that he'd never liked Christmas since one particular event long ago was much more accurate.
Everyone was talking about Christmas here, and Christmas there; love here, love there, care, care, care, blah blah... whom gave a damn anyhow? It was just a Holiday; it happened every single year! As the silver kyun padded out of the elderspark shop, closing the door by slamming his back hoof against it, he simply couldn't understand what all the fuss was about anyhow. Plus, it was bleeding cold! Who even liked the cold anyhow? It just didn't fit into his mind, how anyone could enjoy this time of year that much; never once did it cross his mind that he was bitter and that he was being unusually grumpy. So much that he'd forced himself to leave the shop and pad away into the ES gardens, stopping by a random tree where he'd lowered his head and begun bucking his head in an attempt to sharpen his horns.
The action had always been one that relaxed him deeply; there was only one thing that seemed to be able to sedate him further, and that was a secret only his human knew about, though she did tend to use it against him quite often. Especially as of late since become slightly more grumpy as the holidays neared. His human was sympathetic with him though; she knew what few others knew, or barely remembered, and thus she emphasized. Despite Gabriel's constant whines and growls, he'd actually become quite attached to the human; though this of course, didn't precisely mean others knew about or even noticed. Daffu knew however, and Gabbu too. That was enough.
Standing by the tree, bucking his head, the male kept on sharpening his horns till he'd left long gashes on the bark, his nose coming to sniff at them before rubbing his head instinctively against the tree. This done, he merely sat down and looked off, his quill tail coming to wrap around his four legs as he allowed his eye lids to drop.
Actually... above all, he was kind of lonely; he missed those of his species. He'd not even seen that stupid sun kyun in a long time, while Fafnir and Hong, being family, were two he'd been forced to live with. They were hardly new, or interesting by now. He missed the old days; there were always so many kyuns around...

Wandering around the side of the street, Jaenelle let her paws guide her. After going to that inscence shop the other day with her new friend, Kanashimii, she was tempted to go again. It was mysterious in all kinds of ways, but it also had something warm and comforting about it. Not having a home for the longest time, that place almost felt... like home. The fluffy kyunru let her long tail, trail behind her as she kept walking to her own pace, making her way to the Elderspark. A small coat of snow rested on the ground as it snowed lightly the night before. Jaenelle liked this season. A lot of people seemed to complain about the cold and the snow, but she really liked it all. Perhaps because her fur was a little thicker than the ones of everyone else? Or because her long hair and tail could also be used as warm scarves? As cold as it was outside, it felt like a warm season to her. Especially now that the holidays were just around the corners.
Taking in a deep breath, the warmness coming out of her mouth made a small puff of fog in front of her as it escaped into the chilly air. She smiled lightly to that and made her way toward the shop's door. As she put her right front paw on the first set of stairs, she stopped. A strange kind of noise had reached her ears. Something was hitting... something else? She stepped back and kept silent, listening carefully. Jaenelle let the sounds guide her to the back of the shop, where a few trees kept the light from coming through, and there she saw... another kyunru! She hadn't met or seen any of them species like her in such a long time. What to do? What to say? Stupidly she staid there for a moment, observing the silver male bucking against the tree and then finally stop after a moment. He sat under the tree and closed his eyes.
Questionning herself, the snow leopard kyunru wasn't sure if she should go see him or not. He seemed in a bad mood, she didn't want to disturb him. But she would like to help him if it was possible? Even to strangers, Jaenelle was the kind who disliked to see others sad or frustrated. Therefore she took a deep breath and stepped forward, making her way to the large tree, and the silver kyunru laying under it.

Eyes remain closed for a while the wind alerted the male of another presence; the scent was distinctly female, however, the cold had gotten to his senses and it made it difficult for him to pinpoint if he knew the scent or not. However, taking into account Gabriel knew of no kyuns aside from Hong and Fafnir, and due to the fact he could hear what sounded like a braid being dragged as the other neared him... he swiftly decided it must've been his 'sister' coming to lecture him.
He was unprepared for the sight that lay before his eyes as he opened them; instead of the pink hued unicorn there stood a female, wrapped in a pink ribbon, white as the snow around them. He'd been prepared to snap at Hong, tell her to leave him alone, yet he found the words died in his throat as he stumbled back a pace or two, landing ungracefully into a sitting position. Blinking, the male sat dumbfounded, taken by surprise and it took him the proverbial moment to catch himself and regain his confidence; his features displayed childish confusion before he finally frowned at the female.
This was not what he'd been hoping for when he'd asked for other kyunru to talk; he'd been thinking more along the lines of a guy to pal around with, someone he could communicate with, not this, "Who do you think you are?" the words came out softer than he'd hoped; he'd wanted to snap at her, growl and snarl, but the confusion was still evident upon his features; girls were not to be trusted, he'd learnt that long ago and this time he was not letting another one near. No one. Not this one, not any other.
Finally sitting up with more grace, the male flattened his ears back and glowered.

Jaenelle let a small smirk crawl up her face as the silver male fell back in a sitting position. He looked rather surprise she had come to him, but she did not dare say anything, in case it was a bad surprise. And as she was about to greet him, she blinked to his words. Now she was the one that had been surprised. Even though his words were rude, they didn't come out in any kind of harsh way. The snow leopard took a step back, as she lots her small smile. Her pastel purple eyes observed the kyunru in front of her for a moment, not exactly sure what to say. Should she apologise and leave? Or should she introduce herself? She sighted lightl to herself, thinking she didn't approach him for any reason.
"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you." she started with her soft and calm voice. "I didn't mean to interrupt anything, but I had noticed you seemed in a bad mood." she explained. With a good heart like hers, it made her sad to see others like this. "I was coming to see if I could do anything for you... to cheer you up." she added. The chilly wind blew her front bangs against her cheeks, as her eyes seem to shine for a moment, never leaving the male kyunru in front of her. Her puffy tail encircled her as she staid standing, leaving traces in the snow.

Yes. Yes, she was bothering him! Her very existence bothered him! But then again, he couldn't very well say that every one's existence bothered him lately, or he might've just come off as... slightly stupid. Or perhaps just mentally sick in some sense; he'd seen Fafnir read books about mental disorders, and somehow, even Gabriel was starting to think he had one.
Instead of talking, he sat and scowled for all answer, almost as if slightly at a loss for words; what did she care if he was in a bad mood? Why would she care enough to come here and even so much as think of cheering him up? It was as these questions formed that the male's scowl slowly slipped into a strange expression, somewhere between childish confusion and perplexity. His head tilted to one side as if to accentuate his features, a brow arching in silent question; no one had ever tried to cheer him up. They either scolded him, or reprimanded him for his bad taste and horrible humour.
Yet this stranger wanted to cheer him up. The concept was an alien one to him, and as much as he paused, tilted his head to the other side, and then paused again to tilt it the first way... he simply could not understand this.
"Wait, wait," finally the male moved, his paw lifting to wave in front of him, between them, his features thought still sharp (obviously this was more due to birth than him being angry at the moment), slightly softened by the obvious confusion he felt, "YOU want to cheer ME up?" another pause followed before he leaned forward, his nose pressing against hers as his confusion finally melted into sharpness again, "Why?" her nose was warm; much warmer than his, almost like cold metal against a heater, and he was forced to pull away after a moment, rubbing at his maw and nose with his paw.

The young kyunru's cheeks flushed pink as he pushed his nose against hers. Jaenelle had never been this close to another kyunru, therefore her feelings got mixed in confusion to his action. When he took a step back, she giggled lightly and sat down gracefully. He was rather funny. Why wouldn't anyone not want to be cheered up? Life is much better if you're feeling nice and in a good mood. At least that's how she looked at it. She nodded to his comment, staying silent for a moment, staring down at her front paws. She then looked back up at him with a smile.
"I'm like that." she said, as if it explained everything. "I hate to feel sad or mad myself, and I like it when others make me feel better. And when I think about those feelings, and how it makes me feel, I don't want other to be like that. To be mad or frustrated at something. It's much better to be happy or content about something. That's why I stay positive and want to cheer others up. It's a nicer feeling!" she nodded again, looking over at him, with a soft look.
Jaenelle didn't know where that kind of thinking was coming from. She had just always been that way. Maybe something happened to her in the past. Something changed her? She didn't really know. Because she knew nothing of her past. She shook her head lightly, replacing her bangs on her sides of her face.

"You're like that?" the words were out of his own mouth before he as even aware he was talking, the confusion still obviously upon his voice. It was almost as if the grey male couldn't seem to come to terms with the fact she was 'kind' and she seemed to be claiming she 'kind by nature'.
It was... unsettling.
Strange as it was, Gabriel found himself smirking at her suddenly, "Right," it wasn't meant to mock her; it held no teasing tone, but rather, he seemed to be accepting her words, however, as he sat and moved his tail around him; cold metal quills clanging together as he pressed them near his legs, his smirk darkened, "Kay then, luff; see, I'm not sad, or angry at anything in particular; I'm just this way by nature. I figure, the same way you're always happy, I'm usually like this, so there's no use for you to waste your breath no me, now is there?" unlike that first word, these ones were cold, harsher in tone, as if trying to drive her away; it was a defense mechanism for him to use. One that he felt had kept him safe till that very day; opening up to others merely meant pain.
It meant you were giving them a gateway to hurt you.
Gabriel had done this once, but he wasn't fool enough to do it twice. Something about tripping over the same rock twice. However, what he was unaware of, was that by closing himself to others in a form of defense, not only was he evading pain and hurt, but also happiness and friendship. He knew not of those things, but was perhaps a little bit too scared, the scar he'd been inflicted ran deep and the hurt seemed to flash through his eyes as he talked to the female, "Don't waste your breath on me, precious; I'm beyond saving," this said, he stood up and lightly passed by her, his side brushing against her ever so slightly before he paused, a mere few inches after having passed her, his head turning to look over his shoulder, "You're really pretty, and rather sweet; I'll give you that, but I'm not falling for it twice, luff," a pause followed, his brows knitting together as if deep in thought, "Go find someone else to cheer up."
He did not leave though, he remain in that same position, almost touching her, yet not, looking over his shoulder, almost as if lost in thought as he frowned.

Jaenelle watched every single one of his movements and took in all of his words. She kept a neutral kind of facial expression, even though through out the conversation she got confused and fell in deep thoughts. He seemed slightly rude with a few words, but she did not take them too seriously. He looked like one who'd want to push her away and be on his own. And even though he told her, that he was the way he was, the snow leopard couldn't help but be interested in him. It had appeared to her, that they were complete opposite. Someone that would always be grumpy and mad. As where she was always happy and content. One thing she hadn't mentionned though is that she was a very stubborn kind of kyunru. Though she wouldn't push her feelings onto him, she now wanted to stay with him. Learn more about him, why he is 'just like that'.
Somewhere before, she heard that people were often affraid of things they didn't know. Well things that she didn't know, only made her curious and even more stubborn. She wanted to learn and get to know, this silver kyunru now. But as she broke out of her thoughts, she blinked on his words. 'I'm not falling for it twice'...? Her pastel purple eyes became more serious, as she observed him pass by her, lightly brushing against her fur. Jaenelle stepped up into a standing position and turned around, moving her tail around her, her long braid still leaning against her shoulder. "Perhaps then... can I simply stay?" she asked with a soft, serious tone of voice. No cheering up, no talking if he wanted to. Her eyes brushed along his facial feature as a small smile appeared on her own face. "My name is Jaenelle..." she said.

Now this was strange. It was an evens stranger development than the fact she'd offered to cheer him up, because tell truth, Gabriel had predicted the girl would frown at him, turn tail and leave as if he didn't so much as exist. Yet here she was; asking, despite his rude words, if she could join him. Now, he was truly at a loss; he wasn't sure if the girl was just too nice (despite how hard this was for him to believe, what with the fact he'd gone on living for years with the idea females were vile, evil creatures), or if she she was just ... dumb.
She didn't seem to be dumb however; she wasn't brainless. She seemed to be thinking through what she was saying, and thus, that left the former option... the one he still couldn't seem to be ale to wrap his mind around. His confusion, or rather, his shock at her words was displayed by the arching of first one brow, then both at the same time; truthfully, he couldn't see why not. It wasn't like he could force her to leave, if she really wanted to stay, and despite his appearance, he'd never really been violent less rightfully provoked... if attacked first. And even then, he'd never truly hurt anyone; just bumped them, or shoved them.
Either way...
"I don't care, it's your life, your will, do as you please," knowing not what else to answer, or even how else to answer, the male finally turned away from her and padded to another tree, flopping down on a small hollow it made against the ground, efficiently covering him from the wind. Despite this however, he made the fatal mistake of looking over his shoulder once he'd settled down, to actually make sure she was coming along, signaling he did actually care, if ever slightly.
She was the first kyunru whom had ever really wanted to be around him; it meant something to him. What it meant, he wasn't sure, but it did mean something, as proved by the fact he'd actually left space for her to settle down by him. They said actions usually spoke out stronger than words did, even if Gabriel himself wasn't aware of this, "Gabriel," came the murmured reply to her later statement, his gaze turned away from her. The reply came late, true; but better late than never.

Surprisingly enough, he wasn't rude or harsh at all anymore. Perhaps did he care? Jaenelle smiled to herself as she stood there, watching him walk away. Apparently he was always mad and grumpy, yet he seemed to care about her asking to stay with him. Maybe this was the first time someone did such a thing. None the less, that was one step done! If she could get to know him, and stay with him once in a while to chat, she could try to make him feel better. Change his attitude and visions a little? Well she wasn't one that knew the future very well, therefore she figured she'd have to wait and see. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Gabriel." she said, as she stepped forward.
As the silver male sat under another tree, and seem to leave a spot for her next to him, she hurried her pace lightly. The snow leopard kyunru then sat against her tree, wrapping her fluffy long tail around her paws and making sure that she didn't lean on her precious long braid. For a moment she remained silent, staring off into space. She was like that, she tended to wander of day dreaming about random things. Mostly stuff she liked, pearls and ribbons, anything fluffy too. She was a weird kind of kyunru for that matter, she was a real girly girl. But soon Jaenelle spanned out of her thoughts and then turned her head slightly to the side, to look over at Gabriel, wondering what he was thinking about.

There was no reply to her words; it was simply not in his nature to answer, but then again, he'd always been one raised to believe that actions usually spoke out louder than words. Words... were useless from time to time, and even when they were meaningful, they lost strength within Gabriel's eyes.
Words... were so easy to betray. Actions however were not to easy to betray; it was so easy to say something as simple as 'I love you' and then turn the other way, smirk and know it's a lie. It was so easy to lie through words; the hued kyunru had experienced that at first hand, and though he'd tried to change, he'd only become gloomier. It hadn't helped, but then again, it was the only thing his mind told him he could do; retreat from others... for solitude though cold and lonely, would never hurt him.
There was a pause however, long enough that the male narrowed his eyes, "Charmed," was the only word that escaped his maw before her looked off and away, lowering his head to place it neatly over his front paws. His eyes closed then, however, his thoughts turned back towards the female beside him, forcing him to reopen them, "What's it to you?" slowly, his head turned, whilst still neatly placed over his paws, and though his voice remain harsh, it was no longer cold towards her, curiosity having seeped in, "You gain nothing from offering me company, do you? So why is it you're sitting with me?" a brow arched in something akin to childish curiosity, "Even though I was rude, you persisted; why is this?" Another pause followed during which the male lowered his gaze from Jaenelle, blinking once, twice, "You know, SHE was nothing like you. You couldn't be more different," the claim must've been a strange one for the female to hear, but it made sense within Gabe's mind, "You're quite pale, white, and she was blood red, for starters. And she was quite mean, now that I recall; sly too. I thought all females were like that."
It was almost as if he was no longer talking to her, but rather, thinking out loud; there came a moment the male kyunru seemed to notice this, and he paused mid word, snapping his mouth shut before looking up at the leopard. It was unclear if the gaze sent her way was his way of apologising silently for ranting, or if he was simply studying her.

The young female smiled lightly, but it was so light, only one that would be staring at her could notice. Gabriel seemed to be in deep thoughts, and that made Jaenelle curious. She always wanted to know what others were thinking about. Sometimes she'd be sitting under a tree, on her own, without anyone near by, and she'd start wondering what Kana is doing at the moment, how she's feeling and what she's thinking about. That was probably a little weird, but she'd never tell anyone. Curiosity was her 'motive'. It motivated her into learning and experience new things, as well as going on various adventures. Though really she wouldn't let curiosity get in between her and others, she cares too much about how others feel.
As the male sitting next to her spoke, she wanted to answer, but he just kept talking, without leaving her a minute to speak up. He seemed to be disturbed that she was still sitting next to him, not bored out of her mind yet. And even though he had did everything to push her away, she was still there. That was Jaenelle. She could feel people's pain through their heart, or their happiness in other cases. Even though she couldn't remember a thing about her past, before meeting Kanashimii, she knew that no matter how someone felt, even if they pushed you away or told you they wanted to be on their own, at some point, they needed compagny. Just having someone by your side, even if they keep silence with you for hours, was a good feeling of comfort, and everyone needs that feeling. Therefore she always made it a rule for her, to stay with these people she met, make them feel special. Make them feel better...
She nodded a few times as Gabriel spoke, listening to him in silence. Understanding that she wouldn't be able to place a word just yet still, she kept quiet. And then as he seemed to notice he hadn't stopped talking for a moment, he stopped and looked at her. Jaenelle then let out a soft chuckle. "It's okay." she said softly. "You can keep going if you like." She never wanted to judge him, and she tried her best to make it feel that way through her words. A warm kind of smile appeared on her pretty face, as she stared back at him.

Her words caused a scowl to appear upon his features; it more akin to confusion what he felt than actual anger however, and that much was clear as the male tore his gaze away from her, his paw coming to draw patterns on the earth. Lines were drawn with his finger, languidly, without him actually looking down at them... circles, shapes that made no sense.
He was no longer lost deep in thought like he had earlier, but seemed to be looking off and away anyhow, perhaps now lost within himself, and not in thought. It was only after he'd created a bast amount of lines and shapes with his paw that he finally seems satisfied and turned to gaze at the other kyunru; it was strange, really... he'd never spent any amount of quiet time with any other, yet this girl seemed content with just silently keeping him company, "So..." he narrowed his eyes slightly, "That's 'nough 'bout me, what about you?" it seemed impossible for him to believe that this girl was just silence and charms and smiles.
No one was like that.
And if she was... if she truly was this way for real, it'd probably be fore the best that she reconsider and work up a spine. This was, after all, a cruel world they were in; of that he had no doubt. There was probably no one on this earth with enough patience to make him believe otherwise either. For a moment he was almost tempted to ask if she was 'for real', but seemed to think better of this and instead crossed his front paws, one over the other as he started at her openly, a brow arching momentarily to urge her to talk, to go on.
Tell truth, it'd been ages since he truly felt like playing a game, and as far as his mind went, he'd always pondered that turn about was fair play, "I talk first, you talk second; how about a game of questions? You ask something, I answer, then I ask something, and you answer. Truthfully," he had, after all, nothing better to do, and she was vaguely interesting. For a girl.

For a moment there he spoke and it made her smile. For her, everytime words came out of him, it was like they were getting to know each others. Little by little. And yet, it didn't exactly feel like she knew him all that well. His past words seemed to be talking about something sad happened to him a long time ago. Yet she didn't quite get what happened exactly, since his words had all been threw out at the same time. But it didn't matter. Jaenelle remained silent, observing him as he drew shapes in the ground. Truthfully it amused her to see him do this, but she tried not to giggle and simply stare in silence. It seems to be what she did best, other than try and make others feel better.
Gabriel then finally spoke, asking about herself. "Me?" she asked quickly, with a bit of surprise in her voice. She wasn't exactly expecting him to ask her anything. Though she didn't really mind talking about herself... not that she had much to say. "There isn't... much that's interesting about me." she started with a soft tone of voice. "A girl and her Pala found me in the forest behind the Elderspark, a few months ago. They woke me up because I was sleeping under a tall tree. And when they asked me what I was doing there I..." she paused, looking down at her front paws. "I didn't know what to tell them. Kana guessed that I had eaten some of the amnesic berries near by where I was, and ended up forgetting everything that happened to me before I fell asleep beneat the tree." she explained. She then looked back up at him, and smiled lightly as if everything was okay. And really, it was perfectly fine. Jaenelle wouldn't deny that she was curious to know what happened to her in the past, but it would probably take very long. Therefore she thought to live in the present was the best way to do it.
And then as Gabriel offered to play that interesting game of his. She nodded with a smile. "Okay." she said. "I'll ask first." For a minute, she sat there looking around, poundering what she could ask him. Her tail curled around her as small snow flakes started to fall around them. "What is your happiest memory?" she said, turning to look at him.

As he listened to her, a brow remain arched, his ears twitching under his metal quills. It was his own way of somehow showing he was in fact, interested in what she was saying; his way of voicing without words, that he was listening to her. Slowly, he reclined his cheek on his right paw, propped up by placing his elbow firmly on the ground, over the nonsense doodles he'd created just moments ago.
The kyun found himself to scowl ever so slightly as she smiled up at him; it was a need almost. In a way, it was his own defense against the stupid sense of comfort that bubbled up his through at her gesture... his only means of self-preservation was to scowl at himself, for such a stupid feeling, rather than at her, really, "Right," a pause as he nodded at her, telling her it was okay for her to go first, his wings opening briefly to work our the strange worming sensation that'd taken over them from laying in the same position for some time.
It was during his stretching that her question came, and Gabriel found himself pausing briefly at her words, mid-stretch, his wings commercially placed somewhere between spread and recoiled before he had the decency to gather himself, "My happiest memory?" it was clear by his tone of voice that he'd been caught of guard, and it took him a moment to recollect his thoughts, wandering through them in hopes of finding what he needed. With almost child-like innocence, the male lifted his free paw and tapped at his mouth, obviously pondering harshly, "I think it was long, long ago; there are two memories that rival for the 'happiest memory', really," a pause as his eyes focused on her, a small smirk appearing upon his maw before it vanished, "One was when I first came out of that damned egg; it was so dark in there, and cold, and my human picked me up, and she stroked me just right behind my ear, behind my quills, and everything was okay suddenly... she still does that, almost every night by the fireplace - that whole 'just right' scratching, and in a way she elongates that memory into the present."
There was a long pause to his words, his eyes narrowed, a hint of curiosity lingering within them, as if waiting for a reaction from her, "The other happiest memory was when I met her," the smirk that had vanished reappeared upon his maw, however there was a distinctly bitter edge to his words, "Her name was Oni," this said, he motioned towards her, "My turn; What is your saddest memory?"
