The Hall of Elders was one of the original rooms of the Division, its purpose unknown. Its dark panelled walls are lustrous and glimmers with silent runes, and was once caked with dust until the Hall was revived for use. It now stands as the primary meeting place for Division X and all other Division leaders and their vice captains. It is located on the ground floor, directly under the Division Secretary's office.

Only Division X and Division Leaders and their Vice Captains allowed to rp here.

Yue aimlessly wandered the halls of the Division. Suddenly, he found himself in front of the doors to the Hall of Elders.

Since his own room was also situated on the ground floor, it was no wonder that he eventually wound up here.

Perhaps they had an assignment for him to alleviate his boredom. A little work would occupy his mind before it began to wander off again.

His hand reached for the handles to open the door but hesitated. Although members of Division X were allowed to enter, he did not want to intrude in a meeting between the Division leaders and the vice captains.

When he grasped the handle, the metal felt cool against his palm. Tightening his grip, Yue tugged open the door. He figured that if there was a meeting, the doors would have been locked. If they weren't and there was a meeting... Well, they should have been locked in the first place.

Yue peeked inside the room. It seemed empty and dark. He guessed that they didn't light up the room for just anyone.

Perspiration beaded on his upper lip as Yue concentrated and summoned a small ball of light on the palm on his hand. Despite the many years, magick spells was the only aspect he had yet to fully grasp. He preferred the traditional ways over the exhilaration of the power in the spells.

Drifting to one of the walls, he traced one of the runes. The unknown symbols were beautiful and full of potential power. Even though he was in this room many times to receive assignments, he was still awed by the designs.

"Thankyou very much," said a soft voice.
The Adjutant was seated at the table. Several piles of paper rest beneath his hand, alongside a tall glass of cherry wine. He indicated to the light, and then to the seat next to him, "Please, take a seat Yamashita."
There was a pause while he read his papers, then he glanced at the shinigami, "I heard there were...problems with your last assignment. Care to explain?"

Yue nearly dropped the ball of light in surprise. As he turned around the glow illuminated the rest of the room, revealing the Adjutant sitting by the table.

As best as he could holding the light, Yue bowed respectfully and murmured, "Sorry for the intrusion."

At Ashika's invitation, the shinigami moved to the proffered seat and sat down. As the Adjutant read his papers, Yue tried his best to keep from fidgeting.

"...problems with your last assignment. Care to explain?"

Yue inwardly flinched at the question. The Adjutant was referring to the plane crash and the resulting wandering souls...

Briefly toying with the sphere, Yue looked at his lap and said, "There was no excuse for my failure." It was expected of him; explainations were only long-winded excuses.

He paused but looked up at the Adjutant, "But sir, I don't understand why of all the wanderers, one chose to stay. He said, "Only she can set me free" when I was preparing to send him to Meifu..."

Ashika took a sip of his wine, and resumed signing the reports before him. It gave him time to contemplate, for him and for the shinigami too. In truth he had known all about the mission. The reports poured in from the Mission Guard, from those on duty, from the Secretary. A few spoke of praises for the young shinigami but more were blustery ills, anger and condencension. Perhaps he was too young, Yamashita Yue, the newest to Division X. He has a fair record, diligent in his work but far too much emotional.
Ashika Suki has lost his share of souls during his serve in Meifu. It took him time and many trips to the High Summoner before he learnt to forget and move on. Hanging onto other souls.......whatever their reasons for not moving on, it is not for a shinigami to know.
He finally looked up, cool eyes appraising Yue. He seems fidgetty, young...very young. Promising though, he will have a hard time in his new Division. "The one you lost, he will become a wandering spirit on the mortal world. There are few near who could be haunted by him thus we will not send a shinigami for a retrieval." The Adjutant was pleased that Yue accepted his failure. Many he knew were hard headed and hot under the skin, choosing to argue and hold their failures.
He has pointedly chose to ignore Yue's question. "How are you settling into the Division?"

"Yes, sir," Yue saw the tactful change of topic the Adjutant implimented. Between the lines, the message was clear: Just leave it be.

He paused to think before answering Ashika's question, "Everything is fine, sir. I have no complaints to speak of."

Rising from his seat, Yue straightened his robes and bowed, "If there is nothing else to discuss, I shall take my leave, sir."

The meeting with the Adjutant cleared his mind. The dreams were banished to the back of his mind; as long as they did not affect his work, they did not matter.

Yue made his way towards the exit of the Hall, leaving behind the soft purple glow of light for the Adjutant. Perhaps it was time for him to meet other shinigami rather than being isolated in his room.

He watched him leave. For a brief moment he pondered why the young shinigami did not pursue his questions....was he too afraid to stand up to a senior? Or perhaps wise for his years. He knew somewhat that being a rookie especially in Division X could invite....certain treatment. Ashika took another sip. Perhaps a partner is in order.......yet another thing to arrange...he wrote on a piece of paper, and waved the door shut with a flick of a hand.

Yue paused in front of the Hall of Elders. When the message said, "Division Hall", he assumed it was referring to the hall of his own division.

The shinigami raised one of his hands and rapped on the door with his knuckles. After a brief moment, he opened the door.

"Please excuse my intrusion but you've sent for me?" Yue bowed.

The Adjutant waved him in impatiently. He was seated at the table, did he never move from that position, one could wonder, but nevertheless...
Ashika Suki pushed forward a file without looking up, concentrated on his thin spidery writing instead. In the file was a photo of a certain long haired brunette, male and still in materialised form.

Enkei Hideyoshi, Division 6 and various other details were listed. This obviously was not a full case file, just the bare minimum.

"Any objections to your new partner Yamashita?" the Adjutant looked up expectantly, putting down his pen.

Yue quickly crossed the room in long strides. At the Adjutant's desk, a brief profile and picture was pushed forward.

With a quick glance at the picture, Yue recognized the owner of distinctive brunette hair. 'Enkei?' he wondered. The one he met at the music room? The one who hit a tree and received a stern scolding by said tree on the last mission?

"...your new partner, Yamashita?"

Yue's eyes sharpened and he bowed, "No, sir. Shall I inform him or shall you?"

"Why? Have you lost your legs Yamashita? Of course you shall acquaint yourself with your partner. I'll expect you to teach him the ropes. Shinigami Hideyoshi shall remain in Division 6 and act as your support, shall he be called for an assignment in his region you shall of course go with him. You know the rules Yamashita."

He ended dryly. Rarely have the Adjutant said so much to any one Shinigami. Can't be helped, he supposed, new partners are always a tender situation to handle. Ashika Suki stood up in a flurry of dark violet robes and clicking beads, making for the door, "Oh, there will be a new arrival soon, a certain child that looks to be promising. That will be all, Yamashita."
The door closed with a soft click.
