Okay, there's not a lot of activity going on in this forum, and despite the complaining, no one is really trying to do anything about it.
Due to the fact that there is usually approximately one post here per day, I'm sure that a lot of people don't check this forum very often, but unfortunately this means that they might miss out on important things like the contests, chances to put forward their suggestions for things (like the site) and the debut of new tutorials.
For those busy people who can't be bothered checking this forum every day, I want to implement a PM list, to inform them of important events in the guild. The first round of PMs will go to everyone, and after that only to people who agree to be put on the PM list.
The thing is, I need some help to do this, as we have 90 members at the moment, and the number is growing sweatdrop If you would like to help me send out the first round of PMs, and later ones if enough people sign up to be in the list, then please post in this thread. If you have any ideas/suggestions/criticisms, also post in this thread.

Ack! I'm sorry its been so dead around here again! I go weeks where all I do is get up, work, eat, and sleep. And repeat! I really will renew my efforts to spend some time on here everyday.
In the meantime, I can help with the PMs! That sounds like a good idea. A newsletter sort thing, so everyone can know what's going on. I wish there was an easier way to contact everyone in the guild. I bet that's something that's in the works.

I think it's just the nature of this guild, ya know? Most guilds are just for nonsense, this one actually tries to get stuff done. Which is awesome. wink
And I'll be glad to help out with PMin' people, now that the internet's working again.

Ahhhh sorry guys, I didn't mean that post to accuse people of not posting enough sweatdrop
Its just I know a lot of people are too busy to keep checking the guild, which is why I think the PM list would be good, so they can come take a look when there's something important happening.
If there's 3 of us doing this, then thats around 30 PMs each sweatdrop I think we need more helpers...

I can help with the PM's. I try to check the forums each time I log on, but maybe that's because this is the only guild I'm a member of ^^ I think once more things get rolling like the website and a little bit of advertising, it will become more active.

I had an idea about this. I think we should PM everyone, like we planned, and ask in the PM if that person would like to be on an EMAIL list so they could get updates to their email address. I think this would be good because: it would be easier to make a mailing list, like on the guild email account (gaian_graphic_designers@yahoo.com), it wouldn't take up people's valuable Gaia mailbox space, it would allow for more fun stuff like images and different sections, so it could be more like a newsletter, and finally, sometimes people just don't get on Gaia much in the first place, so they'd know what was going on, and then they could check it out. If people don't want to be on the email list, but on the PM list, that will be fine too.
Phew. What do you think? I'm pretty excited. biggrin

If you need any help PM-ing people for info or anything like that, let me know, I have way too much free time on my hands (maybe that' why my teachers give me all this homework that I do the night or morning before? hmm... nah wink )

I'll try and come up with a PM for everyone to send out Yes, mailing list is a good idea. There are sites that make and manage lists for you. notifylist.com is one, I think. AOL users also have mailing list options built into their accounts.

But yes, I'm setting up an account on the site Kitsunehime recommended.

Woohoo, nice work! My only problems are: I can't stand Times New Roman xp Possibly because it's the 'default' font for most browsers... I just don't like it. Arial instead maybe? I find it a lot more readable. Center the banner maybe? Something other than default colours for the links (maybe matching the banner at the top for now?) I don't think we need links to the original thread, the poll, or the fundraising thread, since all three seem to be... fairly dead. Its encouraging thread necromancy, and there isn't really any useful information there that isn't already at the guild forum. The Yahoo thread is one we shoud have, but I don't think its necessary to put the whole url up there, I think something like Yahoo Group - *some description* is sufficient. Oh and a link back to the guild, both on the site and in the PM would be good. Uh... all of this is just my opinion, so its possible I'm wrong. Also it doesn't matter too much, seeing as this is only a temp site, so if you don't have time to make any changes, don't worry about it biggrin *scuttles away back to the big ugly software engineering books*
