I'm going to give a brief explanation of how to RP, or role play, for the new users of this guild.

When you RP, you take control of a character (in this case a professional wrestler). Your character can be a real performer such as Ric Flair, Fit Finlay, Chris Benoit or Kurt Angle or you can create your own unique character like Captain Cartwright, CwP, Sanosuke, The Creeker or Steve Sparks.

After you have created a profile (see the profile thread for more on that), the next step is to debut. You can make your debut on pay-per-view or in a regular EEW match (which is much quicker). If you want to debut you MUST make a post in The Booking Team topic, otherwise I will not think you are interested a will probably ban you for a lack of activity.

Once you have your match, there are a few guidelines to follow when wrestling. For example, you don't state that your move connects, you say you attempted it.

Right:Rob Van Dam attempts to hit The Undertaker with his Five Star Frog Splash.

Wrong:Rob Van Dam gives The Undertaker a Five Star Frog Splash.

This is called godmodding (specifically offensive godmodding), and it is frowned upon here and in every other respectable RP community. By the same token, you must give your opponent the chance to reverse or counter your move, but don't reverse everything your opponent does. This is defensive godmodding, and is just as bad as the offensive variety. A good rule of thumb is limiting yourself to about three reversals on a page.

Another tip you may want to keep in mind is that your finisher, no matter how cool it is and how badly you want to use it, is called a finisher for a reason! It would be a good idea not to attempt this move until the third page of the match thread or your opponent has taken a severe beating.

Right: After a long, brutal matchup, Cartwright attempts the Cartwright Crash on CwP, hoping to capitalize on his opponent's weakened state.

Wrong: The bell rings and Cartwright goes for a quick Cartwright Crash.

Which brings us to tip number three. What is the Cartwright Crash, you ask? Good question! The Cartwright Crash is a top rope neck breaker. If you are using a move and you think your opponent might not know what it is, explain the move in double parentheses, like so:

((This is how you talk out of character in a role play guild.))

Now, for some common courtesies. These should be common sense, but you may need a quick reference from time to time.

Never flame someone out of character. If you're playing a bad guy (known in wrestling as a heel), you may insult someone, but purely in character.

Don't have cybersex. Think about what you would think if you were your character. Would you want to come into work and see your boss having perverted sex with the secretary? No. So why do it here? The most I allow is making out, and sexual references. No actual acts of sex are permitted, although taunts like suck it are.

Treat the crew with respect, and don't try to handle management on your own. If a member is bothering you, report them to me and I will take care of it. Don't make your own match threads. Go to The Booking Team thread and ask for one. It will be taken care of. You are allowed to make your own promo threads, which brings up this next point.

Don't interrupt RP threads where you have no business. If someone's issuing an open challenge, by all means, respond. If someone calls you out, go ahead and make a post. But if Superstar A cuts a promo about Superstar B, Superstar C shouldn't show up unless he will have some story relevance later. On that note, the same goes for matches. If you're feuding with one of the wrestlers it's all right, but just interference for interference's sake will get you a warning from an angry crew member.

On the subject of feuds, EEW has it's own feud section where you can do various things. Check out the feud section yourself for more information. If you are in a feud with someone, constant communication between the two feuding characters and myself is vital as we can plan how your feud will progress together.
