The large male's voice nice and calmed. He was helping someone again and this time it was a lion much like himself and of decent size too. He came up short to his shoulders which was an okay thing. The other lion was seeking a place to spend the night and afterwards seek out a lion named 'Ani' or something along those lines. Oddly, he did not care but he had to help the fellow.
His massive paws pressed down into the sand as he led the other male to the cove he recently discovered with an aid of a beautiful Firekin. However since then he has not seen her. He wanted to thank her again for helping him. His teal eyes fell back a few times to make sure the dark red and black lion was still following him. He was.
They turned the corner around a cliff and before them was the cove that Trig called him. The place was very isolated from the main land and that was how he liked it, away from everyone else. He forgotten about his secret with this other male around, normally he would not be walking so straight and be more curled and hunched over as he walked. When he was helping someone or aiding them, he forgot everything about himself and focused more on the one he was aiding.
"We're here, Vianzio."
"Call me Trigger. I hate my name."
He growled as he entered the den. It was really big, much bigger than he thought it'd be. At first it fell down at a gradual slope where the sand would slip inside and pour out. Against the far wall were three large rock platforms. The tallest being the one in the middle. The other male walked past him and jumped straight to the top. He laid down and stared at him. Now...he was staring past him. Looking behind him, the stranger could see what he was looking at. The setting sun. From where he was it was a grand sight to behold really. The sand, the sea, the sky, the sun. Imagine it from where the golden male laid upon. Trigger scoffed and moved before him.
"So this is the dump you live? It reeks of an odor oh too familiar."
"I keep my living quarters as territorial as possible and as clean too."
"You alone?"
"Yes...."
"Well, I suppose my company is wanted. I assume I will be sleeping on the ground tonight?"
"No, you may take either of the pedastals beside me. Either one is yours to use. I cannot treat a guest like a rodent."
Trigger moved onto the second highest platform and made himself comfortable. It was quite comfortable. Looking over to the other male, he saw that he was much bigger than he was. Stronger, taller, bulkier, hell if he did not look so much like a Pride Lander and a bit of red was added, he could pass as a large Firekin. Now why would someone of such massive size want to hide himself from everyone? If he had it, he would strut around for the females to gather. Then again, he put that behind him so now that would be nothing more but for power.
"So where do you come from stranger? Firekin Lands I would assume by your familiarity with the sands and your pelt." Trig spoke still peering outside.
"I am a Firekin, however I have abandoned that monstrousity of a pride. I am a rogue like you whom seeks something. And what about you? Surely you have something much more interesting than my cursed life." Trigger replied staring up at him, his brow naturally furrowed. It had been a while since he was calmed and so his Firekin blood was pumping again.
"Pride Lander born, my mother...was taken from me, my brother was taken by my uncle and I was left alone with my father. I am the one I am cursed, Trigger. Look at me, I am taller than any male lion that exists out there. I hate it. I don't like it all. I came to this cove to hide myself from everyone..."
"But you helped me, didn't you? You brought me here to your home. You cannot be that bad of a male."
"I guess I am not, but I dislike the attention as well. There are things about me I don't want others to know. I have my secrets and you have your own. Please, don't nose into mine." He replied, the sun creeping lower until the sky is left alone to burn that crimson red.
Trigger paused and looked out side. From where he was all he could see was the sky and sand. Both of whom were burning a bright orange and red. "My father...killed my mother when my pride invaded another. Long story short, my friend and I killed my father and fled the lands. That is my secret. I murdered my father for killing my mother."
"My secret....I cannot tell you it...."
-----
"That is quite the secret you got there, Trig. I must say I am quite envious but I can see why you want to keep that a secret. Trust me, if you keep your word to keep my secret, I will keep yours." Trigger replied, his face a bit tinged pink which was slowly fading now. It was a secret that could make anyone feel the way he did.
Trig sighed and stared out again. The sky was turning dark and the starts were flicking into sight one by one. "Right." He replied shortly. It was awkward having to do that but at least he did not have to hide it while he was here for the night. "Trigger, tell me about your mother...I've never had one and in truth, I am envious of you."
"Don't be. I am much more envious and don't bother trying to counter it. Anyways, my mother was a kind female...caring and hard working. My father did not see that, all he saw was another being to do his work while he enjoyed himself and ate to his hearts content. He didn't even want me either he just wanted someone strong to do work for him too. My mother loved me but I rarely got to see her at all. But when I became older she was happy for me since I could escape then. Well, I thought I could anyways but I knew she was happy," he paused. "Then came the day of the Mistweaver Invasion. I met a lion there, my first real fight but I spared his life when I heard my mother scream. She was already dead by the time I got there...I saw it all and...I hated my father. That b*****d deserved what came to him. Ani and I killed him and he got what he deserved." his face was scrunched up to a scowl and a low growl came from his throat. The thought of his father always made his Firekin blood boil up. He really wanted to kill something he wanted to hurt something. He wanted to be a Firekin for a moment once again. Until Trig's words broke his thought.
"What was her name?"
He paused again. He had never spoken her name before. Not since the day she died. Not even to his closest friends, and that is not many. He had never told it before and it hurt him a bit that he hadn't. "Suzuko...my mother's name was Suzuko."
Trig paused himself and looked down at him with a confused and astonished expression. "Her name...was Suzuko?" he asked. Trigger looked down at his paws and nodded. Trig knew this male was a bit younger than him, a good year or so. In his mind he tried to connect the pieces. Suzuko was the name of his own mother. But he was told she was killed. Trigger then mentioned that she was a golden female that looked a lot like him. It was her! Suzuko was his mother and Trigger's! But then it hit him....his mother was alive the entire time and he never saw her, barely when he was a newborn. But now...she was gone. The massive male turned to the Firekin and smiled a bit through his masked sorrow.
"Trigger. You're can stay here with me if you like. I got plenty of room."
"I guess so. Hell, I got nowhere else to ******** go. I'll stay but you better feed me."
"Feed you? Why you can't do it yourself?"
"I can, but the host always feeds the guest." the firekin sneered.
"Oh no, you said you will stay, you're not a guest anymore, Trigger. You live here so you got your own wait to pull."
"Damn it!"
The two spent the night bickering and arguing, laughter masking it. The two were content. At least now they weren't alone.
