(I just finished it in late August, but this is what is was before and the process) My 1977 Ford LTD Standard Four-Door Sedan. Metal flaked champagne gold, with a brown vinyl roof and brown cloth interior.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

It has the engine option of a 351M(400CID)V8. Stock has a two barrel Motorcraft carburretor and a singe exhaust system.

User Image

We are in the midst of a rebuild/overhaul of the engine at the time. Got it torn down to the short block, the heads are still on in the picture, but we have them off now.

User Image

User Image

My plans for the car:
-Four Barrel Holley 1150 Double Pumper
-Competition Camshaft
-Dual Full Length Headers
-Custom dual straight pipe exhaust with cherry bomb mufflers
-High Compression Heads
-Competition water pump
-Competition fuel pump

Hopefully I'll be able to find a manual C-6 transmission from a truck and swap it for my automatic. Plus, my dad won't touch an automatic transmission, but if I had a manual we would be able to build it.

And hopefully I'll also be able to Fit a better Posi-traction system in it, the 2.75:1 just isn't the best thing out there, but it's still better than having a split-differential.

User Image

^^ That's what you call a smog pump...you also call this kind of thing "useless." So I literally tossed it by the side of the shed. None of the A/C system is going to go back into the car either, because it doesn't work and I don't ever use A/C anyway, not even in my other car that has a fully functional system.

It gets 6 to 8 miles per gallon around town, but after the overhauling my dad is thinking it will get about 16 or 17, which is complete bullshit. Those cars got 11 miles per gallon with the 351W "C" from the factory. I'm shooting for 12 as a maximum mileage around town, but even that would be a huge improvement. Note, the car also has a decent sound system I payed for and installed myself. Only $150 for a system way better than any stock sound system and it would have cost me at least $600 to get an equivalent sound system from anywhere in town.

I Hope you enjoyed, I know I do! (It drifts...stock...I want to see what it will do when I'm done with it.)

--Not all the plans were fulfilled, but here's the process of it's completion--

Here are the new pictures of my baby, now that I have it finished.

I should get some pictures of the car I'm being stuck to drive right now while the transmission and power steering is being a b***h in my LTD... Hehe...I hate my "Nova."

All the pictures I put up there are my 1977 Ford LTD. It's the third largest sedan ever made for non-commercial civilian use, if I remember correctly, weighing in at 6204 pounds, measuring 19feet 8inches long and 6feet 8inches wide. No car has more interior space than my champagne beauty.
And yes, it is a 400Cubic Inch Displacement (6.6Litre) 8-cylinder wedge engine (Qualifying it as a V cool .

The car I am forced to drive because of unforseen circumstances is a shitty 1988 Chevy Nova...a Toyota Corolla that was sold by Chevy to gain publicity for Toyota or something like that. It is a red hatchback subcompact size car with a 1.6litre 4-cylinder engine that puts out 75 horsepower. Surprisingly, with only 75 horsepower you can put down over 50 feet of rubber.

And something tells me your car isn't a "v4" but rather an inline-4, meaning that the cylinders are aligned in a straight row, not lining up opposite each other and firing in the shape of a "V".

This is a 1988 Chevy Nova. The Chevy Nova of the 1980s was a Toyota Corolla that was shipped over and assembled by the Chevy company, at which time they put their bow-tie logo and Nova namebadge on the cars, then sold them. 1988 was the last year for the Chevy Nova in any form. It cam with an automatic transmission or a 5-speed (Which I have) and the engines optional here in America were a 75 horsepower 1.6litre Toyota or a 115 horsepower 1.6litre Toyota. In Japan they aswell used the 1.6litre engine, but had a 65, 85, 105, and 125 horsepower model available. Here are some pictures of my dad's car which I drive while mine is on blocks in need of steering and transmission repairs:

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The bumper is now slightly misaligned due to some dumbass rear-ending me. I waved, and kept driving, because I didn't care, I was high.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The passenger side. Hmm...something looks different about this...oh yeah, that rear-wheel-well has since been demolished by a small grove of small trees thanks to me. After pounding it out for about two hours, it is now a little ripley and has grey primer sprayed over it, and a small portion of the rear door.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The small crack in the grill has since gotten wrose. The crack was oringinally from hitting a truck. Now it has gotten worse because I totally drove off without unplugging the car one morning, and it broke more out.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The plastic skid plate is now almost completely falling off, as it broke, probably from repeatedly hitting it on random bumps through the town and pulling out of McDonalds and Burger King and running over small children...crap like that. One of those bumper brackets is bent because I had to have an ex's mom hook up to it to pull me out of a ditch the winter before.

All damages to car that have not been repaired I can proudly lay claim to. This consists of all but two incidents, in which it was parked on the street and someone hit it.

Yeah, your engine is a 1.9 liter inline 4-cylinder with two valves per cylinder, one for intake, one for exhaust, pretty standard. Really only sports cars have three or four valves. It puts out 124 horsepower, so if it's a standard that could be driven pretty fun. If its an automatic...not the greatest, but okay.

its automatic.. im pretty sure the peeps that were working on my car said my car is like a SL series 1 or 2 I forgot.. I thought it was jus a LS though.. like i said its very complicated.. and it's an automatic.. i like it but theres nothing special about my car except the aftermarket exhaust thats loud as fu**

Heh, does it whine or does it growl?
The stock exhaust on my LTD would rattle the windows in my house when I came up the driveway. The new dual exhaust practically knocks them out of the window casing, loud, with a very satisfying gutteral sound to it. It sounds so mean.
But the loudest car exhaust I have ever personally witnessed still goes to a 1960 Austin-Healey Sprite with a 948cc 4-cylinder to a single exhaust system...an engine smaller than most modern motorcycles, an engine with less displacement than a one liter bottle of Coca-Cola Classic.
That cherry bomb exhaust on that thing makes it far louder than like...anything I have ever witnessed, it's insane. If you drive that car around town for just 15 minutes, you get out of it and you're practically yelling just because you're ears have suffered that much. It's awesome!

Haha, nice. The next step for my LTD is actually going to be a supercharger and air scoop. That would be pretty wicked I think, having an air scoop coming up off a supercharger intake manifold on that big car. I think I'd need a new transmission though, just to handle the output then. Who knows, I might change my mind and call it good where it is or I might keep going. But I'm not sure when I'll be able to afford the next set of upgrades for it...probably never, since I'm saving all my money now for when I move out so I can afford to live on my own.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 24, 2006 11:16 am

that is sweet i think.. lol it sounds sweet i should say.. im probably going to wait to get a better car to do work under the hood.. so basically for now im going to buy some physical parts for my vehicle.. how old are you about 17 or so??
.. im waiting untill im done with college to move out.. maybe a little longer.. im thinking about 18 or 19..

At the time I'm 17. I turn 18 in July and then I'm out of this house. I won't be able to afford college and won't be able to get scholarships enough to adequately pay for college, so I would prefer to just work my a** off my whole life to get something out of it. But it's not about money anyway, hah.

I don't know, my car is such a pain on gas and it needs a lot of work. When I know of a killer '79 Mustang hatchback in Minnesota that's for sale for only $4200 and has a 460 cubic inch V8 and is almost 100% flawless...well I think that sounds like a very good option to me.
