Since the disband of the Demon's Den, Ashki had already met three maned wolves and a wild dog. Imal was a bit...different, she may have been another species but she was a bit more pushy than she should have been. Then there was Amaterasu, she was an ideal female, nice and caring however she was already pregnant with a male whom abandoned her. Then there was that father-daughter trio he had just met, Zaini and the father's name he did not catch. But the leads were nice, he knew usufii was alive and he must've done something to hurt that other male. Maybe the runt is following in his footprints.
The black and white male moved across teh savanna in search of the male, heir to the Muroders. He knew that the boy lived at the Acacia tree, but he was there. He wanted to find him face to face not be weak and wait for him. What was keeping the boy from sitting still?
He growled to himself as he pressed onward. There was something about Usufii he did not know about, then again he barely knew him since he lost the pup when he was only a pup not long into his second month of age. After that the pack dispersed and he started to lose control of things. His mate murdered, his son ran out and he left to run teh pack with a blind son. When the last of the members left the pack lands, he sought out to find the heir in hopes of returning the pack to its former glory.
First...he needed to find the heir to the Muroders.

Resee wandered aimlessly, her paws sore from walking all day long. She couldn't, however, allow herself to stop. She was searching for something, though exactly what it was she wasn't so certain of. But she couldn't stop, not now. She could feel the pull in her heart that, whatever it was she was looking for, it was nearby. Driven by that urge, that pull, she began running.
Not too long after she broke into a sprint, she forced herself to slow down. Though she thought she was close, she couldn't ignore the fact that her legs were trembling and that she couldn't breathe so well anymore.
"Damn.."
Shaking her head, she found the nearest tree and plopped down immediately underneath it. Her bushy tail curled around her body as she rested her head on her paws. She sighed, her ears falling back. She didn't know what she was doing or where exactly she was going. She didn't even know why.
Sighing again, she rolled onto her side and closed her eyes. Finally, fatigue caught up with her and she drifted off to sleep..

The 'Feral Demon' had paused at a cross road. Who knew that there was one here in the Pride lands. Most likely a boundry point. Assuming that this led around the pride lands and the southlands he looked around. The night was coming and he should get some rest and start again in the early hours. Perhaps he could catch the wolf when he had returned home or when he awoke to the morning sun. Either way, he was gonna find Usufii.
He looked around the horizon and spotted a decent size tree not too far from where they were. At least then he could get a decent rest before heading back to the acacia tree. Slowly his white paws carried him along the dirt path and took him there. As he approached there was a center of a female, damn how many were there? Oddly, it smelt familiar like his own scent or something but it smelt like that male's too. That female too. He scowled deeply and approached boldly.
It was a female, on closer inspection he noticed that she was asleep. He reached down and held her cheek, turning her head carefully. She was asleep and she was a bit distressed by the looks of it. He placed his paw on her head.
"Wake up, female."

To be totally honest, Resee hadn't been completely asleep. She had merely drifted, but was still aware of some things in her surroundings. Like the creature that moved her head and put its paw on her. At first she remained still, hoping that maybe it would deem her unworthy of its time and just move on. Yet then it told her to wake up, and so she groaned in protest.
"What do you want? And I have a name, ya know," she grumbled, opening her eyes and shoving him away so that she could stand up. Stretching out her limbs, she shook her head then glanced at him. Another maned wolf. She didn't recognize him at all.
"It's rude to wake someone up when they really need the rest," she commented bluntly. "I don't appreciate it." Normally she wasn't like this, but he had waken her up!
"What's so important, hm?"

The male brushed off the area where she had shoved him. He'll let that pass...for now. His eyes remained on her, she was obviously tired and it was indeed a fact. He moved closer to her, minding her personal space, and sat down, his chest out, head high, and tail flagged signaling Alpha status.
"How could a strange call you by your name if I do not know it to begin with, female? However, as rude as it may be, sleeping alone is a dangerous act in unclaimed territory as far as I know you are a rogue who's family has abandoned you. However your scent reeks of something similar to my own and to a female named Zaini and her father. Tell me, what relation do you have with other maned wolves?"
He asked, his voice strong, deep, and stern.
"I will let you have your rest soon enough, female. My name is Ashkikatazwa. Do not address me in any other way. As for the importance of my interruption is that as a fellow maned wolf and one of high rank, I cannot allow a female, rogue or not, to sleep alone unprotected. I am saying, I offer my company to you."

Resee settled herself down beside the male, though at a bit of a distance. She didn't quite trust him so close. Narrowing her eyes at him, she shook her head then groomed herself a little. He had woken her up so suddenly that her fur had gotten all ruffled in a bunch. It wouldn't do to have herself go on looking dirty like that. As she groomed, she didn't notice his alpha stance, nor would she really care if she had seen it.
Stopping mid-lick, she lifted her head and glanced at him funny. He was right, about a stranger unable to call her by her name. "Still. Don't call me female, it sounds like I'm some lowly creature or something." When he mentioned that he figured she was abandoned by her family, she flared up. "I wasn't abandoned. I'm out traveling because I got tired of sitting around at home!" She glared at him, maybe getting herself into too much trouble than she could handle. But whatever. She was tired and, as tired females get, she was agitated.
But her temper simmered down as the name Zaini was mentioned. The female's eyes shot wide open, and she tilted her head. "Zaini is my sister.. what is your business with her?" she asked, a bit of a protective tone in her voice. Although she hadn't seen Zaini since they had both been pups, they were still sisters.
Giving him a weird look again, she shook her head. "Sheesh, males and their egos," she mumbled to herself. "Alright, Ashkikatazwa, it's a mouthful but if it'll make you happy.." She rolled her eyes, obviously not really caring if it meant a single thing to him or not at the moment.
Scratching at her neck with a hind paw, she pondered why he would offer to keep her company when they had barely met. Surely he wasn't that much of a gentleman?
"Aah, thank you for the offer," she murmured. "But I couldn't impose." An easy way to say no, right? Or at least she hoped.

"Again, you have not given me your name. What would I call you if I cannot call you female, nor are you close enough to my to be called 'miss' or 'mrs.' as that is reserved. As for leaving home, your family would miss you. I know when my son left, I missed him but I could not falter before the eyes of my pack and so....I almost forgot about him. Would you put that onto your family shoulders? Would you want them to forget about now that they care so much? I may not know you very well, but I am able to draw conclusions."
Ashki had dealt with pregnant females, tired females, heat-fevered females, heated females, name them he has experienced it. Females, like males, could sudden snap when pushed the wrong way. The only difference is that the females are much more drastic and could do much more harm. He moved under the tree and sat down again.
"So you are Zai's sister....that would mean you too know my son, Usufii. Seeing as your father has a strong dislike for my runt, I assume you dislike him as well? What could my runt have done to do harm to a family of a noble breed?"
He asked, his crimson red eyes narrowing on her. She looked like Zaini and her father too. It was clear taht this female was indeed a spawn of that male. Those two had hated Usufii, disliked him so perhaps it was a family thing.
"I see that you do not want the company of a male. I guess I will leave you be and find another tree to rest under and seek out my son in the morning."
Ashki carefully raised to his feet, a smirk on his maw.

"Right, sorry," she said, shaking her head absently. All that lack of sleep was really messing with her head. "Call me Resee."
As he spilt his life story (not really his life story, but still), she folded her ears back and seemed rather ashamed of herself. When he had first woken her up, she had thought of him as a p***k, just another arrogant male. But with that little story, she realized that he did actually have feelings. After that, she mellowed out a bit.
"I didn't just up and leave my family, you know. I visit them a lot. I'm just.. looking for something," she explained. Yet she wasn't going to tell him that, one thing she was looking for, was someone to father her pups. She didn't feel he really needed to know a little secret like that. Plus, he might take it as something else, something she wasn't intending on hinting at.
At the subject of Usu, her eyes widened slightly. "Dislike him? No! I love Usu like my own father," she said, appearing rather shocked at the idea. So her father didn't like Usu.. she wondered why that was.
When he got up and moved as if to leave, Res shook her head. "No, don't go." She paused, wondering where that had come from. "Aah, I'm sorry. I wasn't being fair to you before. I was just tired. Traveling all day can do that to a girl." Now she felt ashamed for the way she had treated him. Judging him before she had even begun to know him..

"Resee, sounds like a name that I would have given a daughter if I had one."
He murmured as he laid himself back down. So she was not foolish enough to deny him, disrespect him, but denying him was something much worse to him. Then again he would lunge at anyone who did either or both. His red eyes remained on the female. She was very beautiful, he had to give her that much.
"That is good ot hear. I am sure they would love to see your face after so many days away. Surely they would be aiding you on your search for this something," he paused and stared into her eyes. He was drawing conclusions again. "Judging by your age, I am guessing you are seeking not a something but a someone. A certain someone I would pick. Whomever it would be would surely love to help you, Resee."
When she snapped back with her love for Usu as her father than that meant the runt was with her family!
"So Usu is still around? I mean here, he is still around here? Is he doing well? I have not seen the runt since he was a pup. I swear, once I find him I am gonna beat the living s**t out of him until I eventually feel like embracing him once more."
Call it his way of showing happiness. He gave a hearty chuckle and looked back to her. He smirked at her for a moment.
"Join me by my side, Resee. I am sure that you are tired just as you have said. I would not mind some company on these cold nights."

Resee sat herself beside him, her ears folding back as he mentioned that he would have named a daughter her name had he had one. That let her know that he only had sons. Or at least she thought. She wasn't so great at drawing conclusions about others as he was.
"Yes, they are glad that I didn't just run off. And it's not like I could have done that anyways. I love my family too much." Or at least the family that she still had. Who knew where her sister Zaini and her father were. Sometimes she wondered if they ever thought of visiting the family they had left behind. Did they still love her, her sister Ali, and her mother? She wondered..
Her eyes widened and she blushed under her fur as he concluded correctly about her searching for a someone, and not necessarily a something. How did he do that? "Heh, yes, you're right. I'm just looking for someone to.. to make a family with me. He doesn't have to stick around or anything. It's rather complicated," she babbled, finding this a rather awkward subject. "I just want a puppy.." She looked down at her paws, almost ashamed that she wanted such a thing.
"Usu?" she echoed. "Oh yes, he's with my mother. They're mates now, I guess you can say. And he's doing quite well, I think. He seems happy." As he talked about beating Usu's guts out, her eyes went wide for a moment but then she laughed slightly, realizing that he merely loved his son and probably wouldn't do such a thing. "Such tough love!" she laughed.
As he suggested she stay with him, she hesitated a moment. Res wasn't quite sure of the whole thing. She probably would have been safer in his company, but it still felt awkward.
"Aah, alright, I guess," she finally accepted, figuring it wouldn't hurt to spend just a little bit of time with him.

"A puppy, you say? You want puppies? Heh, it had been a long time since my late-mate had asked me that. It was more of a requirement for the Alpha's heir to find a mate who was the best of the hunters. I was the youngest and I was the best so she chose me. I bore her the first son, however he was blind and unfit to be heir. The following year I gave her another the one you know now as Usufii. TO be honest, my sons made me happy to be a father. It gave me something to protect, not just the pack but something on a more personal level. My sons meant a lot to me, my mate she had feelings too but she only wanted me for heirs and nothing more."
He signed and looked out to the horizon. The stars were out just like every other night. Surely the Kings of the Pride Lands were up there watching over their decedents. However, he did not want to be used for pups again, no, he did not want to. He almost feared to lose them again just as he had with his own. Frankly, he was astonished when he discovered that Usufii was still alive. Listening to Resee it appears he had gotten quite far in his life. A mate. He had to meet her some day to deem her worthy.
"So I see why your father dislikes my runt. He is your mother's mate while your father was her ex-mate. So I assume he is jealous of my runt. I guess he is trying to be like his father in some ways. I assume you know him quite well then."
He paused when she mentioned 'love'
"No, Resee....Forbidden Love is what it is. That is my name's meaning....perhaps I was not meant to love and because of it I lost all those I did. I refused to see myself hurt again, I refused to let others get hurt because of me. I closed myself out, no one will get to me now, not unless I deemed them worthy. Do not take this the wrong way, Resee. I still appreciate your company."
He murred and licked her cheek carefully.
"You should get some rest."

Resee perked her ears forward, listening to his story. She frowned as he continued through it, feeling sorry for him and wanting to comfort him. She didn't know him that well, however, and so she merely remained silent. She resorted to simply being someone he could talk to about it. She had heard that talking about problems often made them easier to handle emotionally. She didn't know if these were really problems to him, but it couldn't hurt to be there for him anyways.
Once he was finished, she sat there, staring at her paws for a good couple of moments. "I.. I sort of understand. See, I want a puppy so that I have something to love, something that is mine. Right now I just feel.. I don't know, lost in a way," she told him, moving her head to look at him. "So what I'm looking for is someone to father my pups so that I can have that something to love. He could stay with me, but I'm not demanding it." She looked away again.
When the subject was turned back to her father and his feelings towards Usu, she listened carefully. So Ashki thought that the reason her father hated Usu was because he was her mother's mate? She didn't know if that was true, but it sounded logical enough.
"I honestly don't know why my father doesn't like Usu as you say. He... isn't around. I never really got to know him. He left when I was just a puppy."
Res nodded her head, understanding. "No, I know. It's hard to trust others, I understand," she murmured softly, looking at the ground. And then she said nothing more on the matter.
As he licked her cheek, her ears perked slightly and her eyes widened. She hadn't quite been expecting that, and so he had caught her off guard by doing so. "Aah, yes, you're right," she mumbled, a bit embarassed by that. Perhaps he hadn't meant anything by it, but that didn't mean she was completely passive about it.
"Thank you, Ashkikatazwa. I am glad you happened to wander by." Smiling at him, she then settled down on her belly, resting her head on her paws. Closing her eyes, she simply lay there for a couple of minutes. But then her fatigue caught up with her once more and so she drifted off to sleep again.

Ashki looked down to her as she slept.
In a low voice.
"To have something to love, something that is yours. I once had that and I lost it. However, I am wanting it back. Be careful Resee for when you get what you want....it can be taken from you so much more easily. Keep a hold on it while you can."
He whispered as he moved to curl around her. An Alpha always protected teh female, it was just how things worked. He had no mate so there was no one that could get mad at him for doing this.
His body grew rather tired from the day's journey to find the son he richly wanted to see once more. He placed a paw under him and one before him and placed his head on her shoulders. This was his protectiveness. He over at her and whispered into her ear softly.
"My runt will help you find that someone..."
