Aqua giggled, laughing happily as she rolled around in the grass(Haaayyy? >__>), tumbling all around and sending little crushed stalks of the grass up into the air. She stopped rolling for a moment, her hair all over. She shifted her position till she was sitting on her knees, and she tied up her hair in a hair tie she had around her wrist, though it didn't help the long length much, it just kept it out of her face.
Kyou wandered across the field, spotting a girl kneeling there. He walked over, a little quicker, wondering if she was okay. People normally didn't just kneel down in the middle of a field unless they were hurt, well not on their own anyway. He walked over to her and bent down slighing. "Excuse me...miss...are you alright?" he asked, slightly nervously. Aqua jumped at the sudden question, her eyes wide. She hadn't heard the boy, but she smiled, laughing. "Ha ha, nah, I'm fine! Was jus' tyin' my hair back, it's really really reeeaaallllyy long." She said, giggling and pointing at her still knee-length hair with another laugh.
Kyou laughed and sat down beside her. "Yeah your hair is really really long!" he said laughing. "Its really nice though" he added. He was glad she was okay. He would have been very worried otherwise. She giggled, her cheeks the faintest purple. "Thanks. I told my mom I'd flood the house if she ever thought about cutting it." She said, a crooked grin lighting her face. "Oh! I'm Aqua Torrent, though you can just call me Aqua!" She smiled, holding a hand out.
"Aww no don't cut your hair! Its really like nice that!" Kyou siad smiling flicking a bit of his own hair out of his face. The flaming red hair was getting longish aswell. "Oh, how rude of me! I'm Kyou, Kyou Sohma" he said taking her hand, smiling brightly.
"Nice t'meet'cha Kyou Kyou Sohma!" She said with a laugh, grinning. Her hand wasn't warm or icy or anything like another person's hand, just moderately cool to the touch, the white of the skin on her forearms from the elbow down lighting up brightly in the sunlight. "Very pleased to meet you Aqua! Kyou said with a laugh. Her hand felt strange. Very nice but quite strange. "So what are you doing out here all on your own?" he asked helpfully. He wanted to play with someone right now. She shrugged, flopping backwards. "I was just playin' in the grass. Sere doesn't like to play with me, she's all old and a teenager now, she thinks it's silly to play games." She said, pouting, before grinning sheepishly. Kyou flopped down beside her smiling "Alot of my sisters and brothers are getting older and they wont play with me anymore" Kyou said softly. "Yeah I wish they would though. Maybe we could play together?" he added helpfully. "Well, Sere never really played anyways, even when she was littler(Is that even a word? ) then me. She just got into fist fights." She said with a giggle. At his question, she nodded with a broad grin. "Sure! That'd be fun! C'mon, let's play now!" She said with another laugh, standing up and twirling, her short dress billowing out a little as she spun. Kyou got up and smiled brightly "Sure what do you want to play?" Kyou asked her smiling. He noticed her dress. It was nice, for a dress that is. "I'm not very good at make believe games" he added She stopped spinning, thinking, a finger resting on her chin with the other arm folded behind her back, her head tilted a little as she thought. "Hmmmm.... I know! Tag-" She poked him "-You're it!" She finished with a smile, dashing around him with a merry laugh.
Kyou stared at her for a minute before getting the idea. He had only played tag once before. He stood there for a second "Okay you asked for it!" he said running after her laughing brightly. It was nice to have a friend to play with.
Aqua giggled, smiling over her shoulder as she ducked underneath him, zigzagging back the other way. "Ha ha, you gotta catch me first, Carrottop!" She called back to him with another laugh.
Kyou ran after her, his hands outstretched to catch her. "Oh try me blueburry head" he retaliated laughing. She giggled, slowing down just enough to be close enough to touch, but just before he would have a chance to, she turned see-through, before her form collapsed on the ground in a wet puddle of water. A bubble popped from the surface, the popping letting off a sound that was remarkably similar to Aqua's laugh. Kyou fell down on the ground "Hey thats not fair!" he shouted, laughing. "Your cheating!" he got up on his feet again, laughing brightly. "Its on!" he said pouncing on her, surpricing her.
The water immediatly turned back into Aqua's shape, giggling and rolling over again, little shoots of grass flying up. "No, you're on!" She said, laughing brightly.
"Thats not fair!" he cried, from on all fours and shot up again. He tried to tap her and pounced regularly just to get water instead. He laughed brightly, it was one of the only times he had ever laughed this much, except for with Colette
She laughed, grinning. "How's you being on not fair?" She giggled.(She's so naive xD Probably a good thing ) She rolled out from under him, tucking her foot out and pulling his knees out from under him as she sat up next to him, grinning.
Kyou fell down with a thump on he ground, laughing brightly. "Its not too bad" he said laughing. "That has to be the coolest thing ever, being able to turn into water" he said, in awe at her super cool talent
She smiled brightly, shrugging. "I wouldn't have anythin' to compare it to; I've always been able to turn all watery, though I learned just a few months ago how to turn solid with somethin' that doesn't look like me." She grinned proudly.
"Thats so cool though" Kyou said smiling. "I can't really do anything special" he said, looking away slightly. No turning into a monster was really a talent or anything special that could compare to her skills. He could never use it for good, because he just couldnt control it. One day he was simply going to be locked up for it. It was as simple as that. It was a curse, not anything special. He stared away, there was almost no point existing at this point. He was just going to be locked away anyway.
She grinned broadly, patting him on the head with a laugh. "Course you can! Everyone can do somethin', you just gotta figure out what." She smiled, her always-so-naive little self.
"Nah I'm just not very good at much, I can do Karate, but thats about it" he said, amused by her nature. He liked her, she was happy and friendly, almost the direct opposite of Kyou himself.
She giggled, standing up and grabbing his hand, pulling him up with her. "Well, then we'll find something you're good at! There's gotta be something, then we can do even more stuff together!" She smiled widely, so innocent.
Kyou smiled getting up, going slightly rigid incase the girl hugged him. "Well what would you like to do, as they say Ladies first!" Kyou said smiling and laughing She couldn't help but giggle again, curtsying a little before toppling over with a small shriek from over balancing. When she sat up, her long mane of hair was over her head, covering her face till she blew it out've her eyes with a sheepish grin. "Ummm... I dunno. What d'you wanna do, Kyou?" Kyou flopped down beside her, trying to think. "Um we could play the cloud game? Try to see how many shapes you can find in the clouds?" he said. It was the only thing he could think of
She grinned, laughing and nodding. "Sure thing! I see a horsey right there!" She smiled brightly, pointing up at a large puff of white.
Kyou lay down on his back and stared up at the clouds. "I can see a kitty!" he said pointing Aqua pointed at another. "And a dog!" She laughed, smiling at her friend. "The dog's chasin' the kitty!"
Kyou laughed and wiggled his ears. "Oh look theres a love heart!"
She smiled again, sitting up and rolling onto her belly. "Heh heh, a heart for valentines day!" She said brightly, grinning ear to ear.
Kyou laughed and followed suit. "Yup! A heart for Valentines day!" he said smiling and laughing.
She smiled, sitting up before leaning forward and starting to roll down the hill, just a blue and white blur. "Whee! C'mon Kyou, it's fun!" She said, still spinning.
Kyou laughed and followed suit, throwing himself down the hill rolling so quickly you couldn't see anything other then orange. "Aaaaaah!" he shouted with delight before before stopping just infront of her, laughing She stopped rolling right before he did, laying on her back with her feet up over her head as she giggled. "Kyyyoouuu, make the sky stop spinning!" Aqua said, laughing along with him.
"I would if I could" he said rolling down beside her, almost but not quite into her "I think I'm going to be sick!" he said, continuing to laugh. He meant it in a joking sort of a way, nothing serious.
Aqua giggled, pushing him away before she fell over again. "Not on me you won't be!" She said, a stray strand of hair falling into her eyes.
Kyou laughed and started to get up unsteadily. He got to his feet before falling down on his a** once again laughing even more. Really this girl was certainly alot of fun. The only person he has as much fun with was Coletter...or Yuki...though he would never admit that.
Still laughing merrily, Aqua's vision finally, albeit still slowly, settled down, and she managed to sit up again without falling over from laughter. "Dun fall again, or you'll get a purkle nose!"
Kyou laughed "A purkle nose huh?" he said tryng to get up again and this time staying up. He put his hand on her shoulder trying to steady himself She was still laughing softly, but with the sudden pressure on her shoulder, she fell over again, falling into another fit of laughter. "Nuu, noo leaning on meee!" She said loudly, laughing merrily.
Kyou laughed softly, it was more of a chuckle then a laugh but still...it was a big deal for Kyou. Maybe Aqua didn't know this but Kyou rarely ever laughed or smiled, he just tended to get angry. But Kyou didn't know...he felt like laughing and smiling at the moment. It was a nice change from being angry and grumpy and sad. "Well sorry then" he said, chuckling.
She giggled again, grinning up at him. "No worries!" She smiled, tugging a hair tie off her wrist to try and pull back her hair. "It's so long, I love it, but it get's all tangly an' stuff." She wrinkled her nose as she attempted to tie her hair into a bun, though it still started falling out.
Kyou watched her with odd amusement as she tried to tie her hair up. "Do you want some help?" he asked. His own hair was orange, orange but short so he wasn't very good with lon hair. "I can try I mean...I'm not used to long hair though just to warn you." Aqua laughed, grinning thankfully. "Yeah, sure. I've never really tried t'do anythin' with my hair, since it's so long, but I know there's stuff I can do. It gets kinda annoying when I'm playing, though." She shrugged, giving him another smile.
Kyou went around her, took the bobin and went back around her before starting to plait her hair, as best a 8 year old boy could. It was a pretty good job with hair that long. "There you go" he said nodding.
She smiled over her shoulder at him. "Thankies, Kyou. That's better'n I can do, way better. I usually hafta get my mom or Zuko to help me. Sere'd pro'lly pull it out, instead'a help me with it." She made a face, before laughing sheepishly.
Kyou nodded "I'm glad I could be of assistance..." he said softly. "Anyway what do you want to do now?" he asked her, sitting back down on the soft grass.
She shrugged a little, grinning at him. "Havn't a clue. You got any ideas?" She picked a piece of grass, sticking it between her lips and munching it, attempting to imitate a cow.
Kyou couldn't help but laugh "No not really...I'm never very good at that sort of thing...coming up with games and such" he said nodding.
((Wanna wrap this up, Raving? Not sure what else they can do ))
Aqua laughed, grinning still. "It's not that hard. You could make up a game, even."
Kyou nodded remember playing with Colette a little while ago "I used to play monsters and princes and princesses with Colette a while ago." he said nodding.
((Sure =D That'd be fun <3))
Aqua giggled. "I've never met a boy that'll willingly play something like that with a girl." She smiled brightly, before she frowned. "Mum said I needa be back by 3 or something. It's near then, isn't it?" She asked, worrying a little; she didn't like having her mother unhappy with her. Quickly leaning forward, she gave Kyou an innocent peck on the cheek, before grinning. "See ya again?
((Aqua doesn't like him as anything more then a friend, just a note xD To her, kisses are just signs of friendly affection, though she'll learn better once she grows <3)) Kyou looked at his watch "Yeah its pretty mcuh 3 now" he said nodding. He had learned how to read the time and used every occasion possible to do so. "Hey....um...do you wanna come over to my house tomorrow or something? I'm sure Raving on the rest of the family wouldn't mind." he said nervously. He blushed slightly as she kissed him and went slgihtly ridgid, afraid that she might try and hug him.
Aqua couldn't help but giggle, grinning broadly. "Sure! I'd like that. Was nice meeting you, Kyou!" She said with a smile, before turning on her heel and zipping in the other direction, waving a hand behind her to wave good bye.
Kyou stood there on the grass staring for a bit before waveing back. "It was very nice meeting you too...Aqua" he said quietly. He then started to walk back to his own house, his own room. To a place where people cared for he, even though he didn't believe it himself.

Colette was busy bustling about the house, all she remembered is that she played knights dragons with this kid and her other friends, and that she had invited him over to get to know him better. She'd seen him get mad at Akito afte rher brother got hurt, but she wasn't all too sure where he had come from. It was as if a peice was missing.
Oh well... that happend to her alot, so she didn't think anything of it. And right now she was busy cleaning up like Arafel had told her to.
Yuki sat near the door, waiting to speak with kyou before he ran off and made it so he had to erase Colette's mind again. Colette was the easy one... Erasing Ash's was still looming over his head. And right now Hatori was out, so it'd have to wait. Kyou was lucky Colette still had a few memories of him...
Kyou, who had been sent for by Yuki walked into the room. Since his last time in the center which he had been screamed at by Akito and thus lost his temper he had grown quite a bit nolonger being the tiny catboy he once was. His hair now stuck out in odd directions with an apperance of someone screaming for a haircut. He walked over to Yuki his fetures relaxed, calm. "So what did you want to talk about?" he asked him smiling.
Yuki shifted uncomfortably as he watched the neko walk into the room. The rat knew how much this hurt... and now he was the one doing it. Hatori had never done it on purpous... AKito had told him. This made him no better than Akito did it...? He quickly shook that thought from his head. This was to protect Colette and Ash FROM akito.
It seemed like an eternity before the boy finally spoke (though it was probably a few seconds) "I told.. Hatori." he stated simply, nearly choking on the words as he stared blankly at the boy infront of him. He had been taught not to show emotion. "Colette doesn't remember... either of your forms. Atleast she still remembers you... Don't show her again." the latter was laced with a mild threat, meaning if he did... then she wouldn't remember anything about him. Kyou started at Yuki for a second, not being able to speak. Colette was the only person he had ever told on purpous about what he really was and she accepted it. She had known that he was a monster and didn't care. She accepted him. It had made him happy, overjoyed everytime he thought about in but now, now she didn't remember which meant that the agonising fear that she may one day find out washed over him. Once again the paralising fear was almost making him sick. He wasn't used to this fear after living for so long without it so he just stood there. In almost total shock. After a couple of seconds he finally spoke, his voice was filled with bitterness, anger and fear. "How...how could you!" he whispered his voice getting louder by the second. "Why, why did you do that? Why? Don't you know that they're just going to find out again later? We cant hide it. Theres no way we can!"
Yuki stared as the boy went off. Flinching a bit and just letting his eyes close to hide his real emotions. To stay blank... To close the lid. He waited a second after he finished, eyes opening to stare at him coldly. How could he possibly be so selfish?! He saw what happend! What happend to Ash, what could have happend to Colette....
The thought of Akito setting his sights on those two scared him more than Akito himself.
"We can hide it, and we will. No matter what. Even if we have to be completely alone..."
Kyou stared at him, his eyes full of bitterness and hatred and anger and fear for what the rat boy had done. Kyou hadn't been around for Akito. By that point he had already ran off, regected from the household, to be alone. To come back to find...this was almost unbareable for him. He was going to turn into the monster again, not the catboy with a bit of a problem. He had been so happy when she accepted him and now it was all ruined, because of Yuki. He didn't want to be alone. Not agian. He had been alone all his life but of course Yuki would never understand, he was never shunned from the family. His mother never haed him because of what he was. Yuki wasn't left competely alone before in his life.
"I...I don't want to be alone!" Kyou shouted, stopping angry tears running down his face. "I can't be alone again!" The boys eyes narrowed. What did he think? Did he think Yuki LIKED being alone? No.. he thought yuki WASN'T alone. His fists clenched as suddenlly rage boiled up inside him. Everything about thisidiot made him want to vomit.
"B...Baka neko..." he muttered coldly, in a swift movement his fist had collided with Kyou's face, knocking him to the ground. The pale haired rat didn't recover from it as fast as he thought it would, giving a light weeze to the sudden action before standing straight, ignoring his now throbbing knuckles. There was much worse.
Kyou had more than he knew... Only a true IDIOT could go on not realizing what he did have and envying others... "You'll allways be alone, You'll never realize when you arn't.. and therefore.. you allways will be." The nezumi spat at him, trembling slightly from the range of emotions mixed with his oncoming attack.
By this time Arafel had heard raised voices and came in just int time to find Yuki punch kyou to the ground. Her jaw nearly hit the floor.. Yuki had never been aggresive... not EVER. "Yuki!!" she shouted out, astonished as she rushed over to the two.
Kyou, knocked to the ground by the punch. He sat there, his cheek turning red and stared up at Yuki. He was completely shocked because, well, Kyou was always the one who started fights. This was the first none provoked ataack by Yuki that he had ever seen. Kyou wasn't sure if he wanted to cry or hit Yuki. He had decided on the latter but his plan was spoiled by Arafel shouting. He wasn't going to him Yuki when him mum was around. That would just be stupid. So he sat on the floor, his face starting to turn a nice shade of purple.
"Well because of you telling Hatori you'll always be alone too!" He shouted nastily.
"You think i don't know that?" His teeth clenched, as his head snapped to Arafel. Looking at her a bit guiltily, but it was mostly masked by his anger.
Arafel blinked, looking from one to the other. She knew the Sohmas had a .. touchy past. But this.. "Kyou..." She looked over his cheek worridly.. but something told her that wasn't what he was upset about. She carefully put her arm on each boys shoulder, "Yuki.. Go to your room. I'll be up in a moment to talk with you."
Yuki blinked, nodding and slipping away to trod up to his room, guilt settling in the pit of his stomach at what he had done. A new feeling of nausiousness for himself came as the anger faded away.
Arafel watched him go before smiling warmly to the cat. "You okay..?" Yuki would be after... Afterall, he was apparenly in the wrong here.
Kyou stayed sitting on the floor and he dared to rub his cheek. He looked up at Arafel trying to scowl but he couldn't so he gave her a soft smile.
"Yeah I'm okay, I guess.." he muttered quietly. "Why do I have to keep what I am a secret?"
Arafel smile grew when he returned hers, sitting herself down to pull him into her lap. Mindful of the fact any hug-like contact would poof him. And the fact her stomach was ..larger than normal. (preggy belly could poof him. XD)
She gave a thoughtful look to the ceiling, before looking back to him. "Because.. People get scared of those who are different." she let a hand ruffle the oarnge hair "And... Some of those people... Misunderstand things. And take out their hate for the different on those who like the different." She frowned a bit, hoping that had made sense.
"When I was little me and my brother were cast out of our village, because we were different. After we lived on our own for quite awhile... One day, a family came along and said they would adopt my brother into their family. But... Not me. And because of me he never went. Because he refused they hurt him..." she smiled dispite the story. "I still feel bad." She paused a moment, eyes looking a bit sad.
"I think... Yuki doesn't want anyone to get hurt because of your differences." a nod was given to the statement as she thought somethign over. "But... What he doesn't realize, is that my brother was much happier staying with me... even though he was hurt." She looked to the boy, reading over his expression before saying anything more. Kyou looked down at his feet, thinking. "So...do you think I can show her again, Colette?" he asked trying not to get his hopes up. After all he had been so happy when she knew. She could actually hug him. Now he would be awkward around her, afraid of her hugging him or touching him incase he transformed. "But I really don't want to hurt her, shes my bestest friend in the whole..." he said sadly looking up at Arafel. She smiled at him... Almost in a proud way. She petted his hair a moment, before shrugging. "Well... What if she was hurt? Do you think you could help her or protect her?" she questioned curiously, her questions moreso tryign to lead him to his own answere.
Kyou thought for a second. Arafel reminded him of Raving, the same kind of motherly figure that he never had before he came here. He stayed looking at his feet. "I wish I could be sure I would be able to" he said softly, almost weakly. "But...I'd try my best. I'd try will all my might but I'd be so...so afraid that I'd fail. That I wouldn't be able to help her." he continued softly, continuing to look down and rubbing his finger on the floor. She smiled, nodding "Its good to know your limits...Thats the first step to being strong. So... If you want my opinion.. I think you can do anythign you set your mind to." she nodded firmly, carefull moving him off her lap and pushing herself to a stand.
"Ms. Arafel?" Kyou asked quietly. "Why did Yuki hit me do you think?" he asked in the same quiet unsure voice. His cheek was still bright red from where he had been him. "I wish I was better at helping people, maybe then people might stop leaving me"
Arafel frowned a bit.. she wasn't all too sure. It had just seemed so out of character. "I.. well.. my guess is that Yuki is scared of being alone too, but unlike you.. he doesn't beleive he can protect the people around him." she nodded, that must be it. Too bad Yuki was so locked up.. or she'd know more. She worried about him, he was far too mature for his age...
Kyou looked up, thinking. He looked back down at his feet. All his happiness was gone now and he would almost feel sorry for him. But then Kyou remembered that it was Yukis fault that they didn't remember, that it was his fault that Kyou was nolonger going to be happy. "I can't protect the people around me either..." Kyou said softly. "Thats why they keep abandoning me"
She thought a moment "You know.. Theres a difference in people leaving you, and what happend to Colette. She would never have erased you knowingly." THe thought of colettes memories being erased irked her a bit.. but she knew Hatori, and she knew Yuki... so she couldn't be mad at them. She knew they had their reasons.
The woman ran a hand through her hair looking ot the side "People you should protect will never abandon you. even when you can't protect them. You're a smart boy... I'm sure you can figure out what you should do..." She gave him a smile "And.. don't worry. There is no right or wrong answere, its what you do with teeh problems that brings that makes the difference." with that she turned and headed towards the stairs to go speak with yuki. "Colettes in the other room, she's been waiting for you to get here. " she called over her sholder as she dissapered into the hall upstairs.
"Okay then, Thank you very much Ms. Arafel" Kyou said smiling slightly and getting up. He started walking into the next room, his small feet making a soft padding sound as he walked. His ears twitched as his tail did, nervous. He hadn't talked to Colette in a while, not since he had run away. He pondered what Arafel said, desciding not to tell her his secret again for a while anyway. "Hello Colette" he said softly, smiling warmly at the sight of the blond girl.
Colette looked up from her crayons and paper. Eyes shimmering as her huge smile came on once again. It was kinda wierd.. she'd only met him once and for a few breif moments. (atleast in her mind) But she liked seeing him just as much as Spiro, or Avery, or Lloyd. She quickly moved to a stand, hurrying over to greet him. "Hello!"
"Hiya!" Kyou said smiling. "What are you drawing?" he asked kindly looking over at her drawing. He was glad Colette remembered him but was going to be the old Kyou again, he knew it. The scared cat who was afraid of people ever touching him. He almost winced when she came up close to him. What if she hugged him? What would he do then? How would he explain?
"An adventure." she smiled, holding out the less-than-a masterpeice. "See... Theres spiro and me and Avery. Avery was gonna fight the dragon, but then we saw the dragon just had a owie. And I kissed it and made it all better..." she smiled "Like mom does... Spiro doesn't beleive in it...." she sighed a bit buefore shrugging "But he's still there!"
"Oh wow! Thanks really really good!" he smiled. He did mean it, though he felt a little left out that he wasn't in it. But he had been away for a very long time. He was surpriced that she even remembered him at all in fact. "You're a really good artist. Mind if I join you?" he asked sitting down beside her.
"hehe!" she giggled, covering her mouth before lookign back to her things. "Of course not!" she fell back into a sit, flinchgin a bit as she connected with the tile and giving a tiny 'oof!' But the momentary pain was forgotten as she passed him paper and crayons, smiling brightly. Kyou sat down beside her, picking out an orange crayon from the pile. "Um...okay so what will I draw?" he asked her smiling. He wondered if she really did remember everything other then what he could turn into. It seemed to be one of those things that just couldn't be true. I mean how could you erase a part of someones memory but not all of it? It confused him.
"Uhm..." she blinked, giving a thoughtful frown. "Draw a kitty!" she finally piped, giggling happilly. "I'm going ot draw an angel." She nodded, reaching for the blue crayon.
Somewhere, deep down, her memories were still there.. They'd just been shoved aside.
Kyou turned and looked at her for a second. Maybe she did still remember....or it was more likely to just be a coincidence. How could she remember after her memories were erased? It wouldn't make sence...plus it would be too good for Kyou for something like that to happen. Good things rarely did, untill he came to this place. It seemed to he his sanctuary...a place where his soul could heal. So Kyou gave her a half smile, which was still the best smile he could muster and nodded. "A kitty it is then" he said taking the orange crayon and starting to draw.
((I'm not sure if this is done or not but I said I'd quote it))
