I have a gas stove, which I love, but I always worry about leaving it on and burning down my house or something.

i have glas top stove -bought it 2 years ago and i do love it. but i do also cook on a gas stove at work. i love that too and i think gas is much more enery efficient, however i do worry bout fires etc. so i guess since i have a new electric one-i'll keep it for awhile. Personally-if ur a good cook i dont care if its a campfire, it will all come out well. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh campfire cooking anyone??? domokun

XD I like campfire cooking.
I have a gas, and I was raised on gas, so I despise electric.

I cannot cook well on an electric stove. I like fire and seeing the fire helps me to know how hot it actually is.

i hate my stove, because i had to make a dessert for a ton of people, and when i was about to take it out, the piece of crap blew up. i mean it really blew up. i stood there, watching the sparks catch things on fire.i guess it was just one of those days. eventually, it went out, and i found out later that the element had finally kicked out. stare it was a REALLY long day. stare

I have an electric 4 burners with double oven stove that is 32 years old.
Lets say all that works on this monstrosity is the smaller top oven. the rest is trash. Waiting for reconstruction to start on this house to get a new one.
Until then, I use a toaster oven, an electric skillet, the microwave and a 1 burner hot plate to cook on.
Actually the only complaint I have using these items is the hot plate takes forever to heat water to boil pasta and that I cant have a big pot on the hot plate. razz

I have a gas stove myself. It takes about fifteen minutes to heat up, and about a half-hour to cool off. xd If it doesn't work, I have a smaller, portable oven that I bake in. That takes about five minutes to heat up, but it's really small.

That sucks D: Gas is better, so when the electricity goes out, it still works :3

I just purchased an electric stovetop- it's actually quite nice. 4 burners, a seperate burner just for gently heating leftovers, and a casserole dish option that combines 2 burners. And it looks cool in my kitchen. whee
