I haven't wanted to see a movie this badly since Snakes on a Plane came out.
I know I've said in the opast that I go out of my way to avoid monetarily supporting remakers, for example NEVER seeing a remake in the theaters, but this one looks awesome.
Anyone else planning to see it?

yeah I want to see it, I haven't seen the original though...I heard it's really good but I've been putting off seeing it.

I've never seen the original, though I do plan to pick it up on DVD. As for this film, DreadCentral.com seems to be giving it a nice bashing, but then again I'm figuring their expectations were too high. This isn't the next great horror film, just the next in a long line of mediocre ones that are decent for the moment for lack of anything else available. The female cast alone should make it worth watching. smile

oh GOD No!
It was bad enough when they exploited this idiot for a teen sex comedy, it was pathetic to see her ice skate, and now we've got her in a HORROR movie, with a GUN, in a REMAKE! What the ******** next? A remake of The Hitcher with character additions that were never intended? *retch*

Black Christmas wasnt that good of a movie when it came to the original which means if I didnt like it back then for the same reasons I wont like it now.
Though I wont pass up a chance to see it if someone I know rents it and such.

I've seen it already, I went on Christmas. LOL. But I liked it. It was alright in the Horror Sense. But that's just me, I don't always find Horror movies scary. But for a Horror, I liked it. That's just my opinion though.

OK so, I saw the original and regardless of what most people seem to think on here, I thought it was excellent. It wasnt super scary or gory or anything but the suspense of who the killer was and what the hell was wrong with him was really creepy. The ending was really good, but kind of frustrating after everything that happened, I won't go into detail incase some people still want to see it. I would've liked to know the history of the killer but I think that would've taken away from the eeriness of the movie. It kind of gives you the feeling of an urban legend that may or may not have actually happened and that it could happen to you (I won't be joining any sororities anytime soon xd ). I'm going to see the new one on friday, hopefully I'll be able to write another good comment. It will be really interesting to see how they modernize it, if they do, they may decide to keep the 70's hippy feel.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. Id have to say the thing I liked the least about it was how weak the gore was. It was just blood spatter and was kinda boring.
The original was MUCH much better. But not bad.

I haven't seen the original, partially due to the fact that I don't think I've ever seen on the shelf at my local video stores. (I'll rant about this some other time.)
But this looks good and I want to see it.
