So, I've been really wanting to play some DnD lately, so I was thinking that maybe we could try to start up a game again. If we did the actual playing in the thread as opposed to on a messenger program, we wouldn't have to all be on at the same time. It might make the game move a lot slower, it might actually be able to keep going. I just thought I'd put that idea out there.

I think it'd be a bit hard to run a DnD game on this forum (or online in general) because you have to trust people to not lie about their dice rolls, but running a general RP with other rules is definitely doable.

Actually, one of the few advantages with the thread-DnD idea is that you can directly present your rolls.

Hey, I might actually be able to get in on this one now that I have a functioning computer.

Fuzzy Necromancer Actually, one of the few advantages with the thread-DnD idea is that you can directly present your rolls. But how do you know that people aren't lying about their rolls? I'm sorry if I'm being a dumbass, I'm just not familiar with this concept.

You can't lie on a thread. It's because gaia has a roll-dice option. It's under "post action". See?

I would like to play...as always. But I only have 2 nights a week off...Thurs and friday. And the other nights I'm not free until like...4 am. Yes....I work third shift.

I wish I had more free time. I wouldn't mind DMing something once in a while. And I simply can't play PbP (Play by post) or PbM (Play by mail). But my old gaming group started to play again, so I can get some playing going once in a while at home. (Note to self: No more watching Disney's Hercules right before writing a story.)

It's kind of funny how you guys got interested 3 months after I posted the idea. But yeah, if people actually want to play I would love to get something organized. I just want to warn whoever DMs that there's some custom content that I'd like to request be included, although it would be their decision whether or not to actually include it.

BUMP
So... If anybody's still checking the forum, I'd still love to get a game together.

I am SO down for this.
(I hope you guys are talking about 3.5 and not 4.0, right? I'm not out if we're doing 4.0, but I definitely don't prefer it.)

Well, if we can get a DM then I'm game. That's generally the hardest part, though.
