He stretched and yawned. Where was he now? It seemed whenever he awoke, he just walked and walked until he came upon a place to rest. Or until he came across another, someone else's company was greatly enjoyed with Ekage. He didn't like being alone much. He was a gentle and kind natured lion though he was a rogue. He did not follow the traits of the more dangerous rogues he had heard stories of from his family. No, those stories were gone now, along with him.
He was older now, no longer a cub. He had acted like a cub for so long, being his parents youngest out of the family. He was babied, but now, now he was a lion. He needed to find his own home since they had been taken somewhere. He closed his eyes, strange scent upon his nose. He heard something...strange, "What're you telling me?" he spoke aloud, something was here. He padded forward, something big was ahead.

On the beach, Kilua was resting haphazardly again. She’d neglected to soak her foot this time- instead wrapping it with some beached seaweed and letting the burning sensation bubble away until the swelling too faded. She was glad though- her leg seemed almost normal now, and she chalked it completely up to this wonderful place. It made her sigh, inhaling the thick salt and brine. So different from the place Mother and her brothers used to call home! Ciyari...Kayin? What had ever happened to them? She wondered sometimes if when she felt strong enough she’d look for them. But Kilua was slowly realizing that this was the end of the line for her. She would go no further from this shore and from this pride, unless they sent her away.
It wasn’t a terrible sentence, really.
The sound of some gulls brought her attention to the rocks behind her- and with it, the shape of another lion moving amongst them. She shifted and furrowed her brow, cautiously observing the moving male with a still glance. It seemed she wasn’t the only traveler to these places.
“Hello there,” Kilua smiled, and shifted her tail. He said something to himself, and she blinked hesitantly. “Pardon, sir?”

So strange, strange birds overhead. Strange plants upon teh ground, rather strange smell, but it wasn't that bad. It did make him wriggle his nose to get used to it a couple times, but it got better after a few moments. So me grand blue thing was before him now. He stepped over some green slimy stuff that sticked to his paw for a moment. He wiggled his foot until it came loose and landed with other things.
Strange strange place.
The earth was unstable, it shifted beneath his paws so easily, but then a voice broke him from looking around. A female all alone, was she calling to him? Is this why he had come here, did she call him? He smiled and approached her slowly, he didn't want to scare her at all,
"Hello miss, and please, pardon me for not paying attention, I am Ekage..." he bowed and raised his brow to smile at her warmly. "Tell me miss, what is this place?"

The grey hued lion shifted, her eyes flecking about as if to confirm her surroundings. “Well, sir- this is the sea. You’re almost upon the Bahari’moto tribe that lives here- but, it’s the sea no less.” She explained dutifully, and curled the end of her tail. “My name is Kilua.” Despite her articulation and careful look, she seemed hesitant to see a male lion. The second rogue she had run into since being in this place- and she was not sure quite how she felt. She was never sure how she felt around men. He seemed to appear good natured though, so she tried to take it at ease. He spoke politely, and for some reason she found herself remembering Hodari.
“Are you heading some place, Ekage?”

"The sea?" Ekage turned his eyes to the water, and took a few steps forward towards it, seeming to be lost in the sounds and smell of it. "I've never been to the sea...until now...its so...beautiful..." he closed his eyes and wondered if his family had ever seen the sea.
His mother would have believed it to be lovely.
He turned his gaze back to her and smiled softly, she seemed...strange, not in a weird way, just perhaps that his presence might be bothering her. "I am in a sense...I have no home really, trying to find a place, I do hope my intrusion here hasn't caused you any trouble miss Kilua."

Kilua shook her head slowly with a chuckle. “Such words. It causes me no trouble.” She lightly bounced her injured leg to call attention to it. “Only this...And, then, it heals slowly. I do not mind speaking.” The lioness moved closer to the male, the end of her tail precariously swaying with interest. “Ah...a home. I spent a long time without one.” She paused, considering. "In fact- I don't suppose I've ever really had one. We've been tied to a bit of an endless exodus." Her voice vibrated with a faint chuckle.
"I'm afraid it's not my place to offer you stay, but you should rest a while. We're not quite on pride lands yet."

Ekage took a few steps closer to her, tilted his head and peered at her leg. It was hurt? So sad. "I hope it does not bother you too greatly..." he hoped it would get better as well. "I had one once, don't know where my family is now but perhaps...I should start on my own for a bit now..." he wasn't teh cub he used to be, so why shouldn't he start something for himself?
Though he missed his family greatly.
"I understand Kilua," he said with a nod, a smile, and a flick of his tail. "Perhaps may I just sit with you for a while?" he'd rather enjoy company then be alone.

Kilua chuckled. “Oh, it didn’t really bother me. I didn’t even know what one was for a long while. Always traveling...it was good too, I think. Nothing wrong with a little road, but I’ve been a bit grounded since.” She stretched herself out and laid in the sand. “It’s a good place to rest. You're more then welcome to it.”
She lifted her head and leaned to the side, watching him with a pair of dark blue eyes. "Where was your home?"

Ekage smiled, was thankful he could just sit for a while, he could rest up this way, and it was nice to be with company, yes, very nice. He laid in the sand as well, an usual feelings, having the easily moved grains be pushing against his white pelt. But it was a good feeling too, the sand was rather warm. "My home?" Ekage said, his brown eyes then traveled out to where he had come from, "Out there, we stayed together for a long while, but everyone started to leave...go places, I got lost along the way searching for them," he left out that there was a possibility that they were dead. There were several stampedes that day he remembered.
"It was nice...while it lasted."

“What happened to it?” Kilua quirked innocently. The concept of a home was so foreign to her that it seemed impossible for one to ever leave. Wasn’t that what they did? Stayed firm? When everything else in the world crumbled, there would always be home? How could something that fell be a home? Her ears twitched and she craned her neck, waiting for a reply.
Had that been what happened to her home, she wondered? Or rather- her mother’s? Perhaps that was what had sent them into a lonely exodus... the mist blue female shifted her shoulders, and considered this quietly to herself.

"We were all together, in one place, others would gather in the same areas sometimes, but my family, and others, they started to disappear...just, seem like they vanished. Then we began looking for them, and got separated even more, until everyone broke off, and here I am..." he said as he flicked his tail, "I can't find them, but I know they will always be with me..."
He didn't even know if they were alive anymore...which saddened him.
"Nothing stays the same though I suppose, everything can change," Ekage said with a nod and a smile. This talking helped ease a bit of welling stress in him, it made him happy to just sit, talk and relax.
