Jasper hunched his shoulders, black and white tail flicking patently back and forth as his silver eyes carefully studied the inside of a small hole that sat dark and quiet under a tree. "come now Egas," the Fox said in his deer smooth voice, a cocky falsely reassuring smirk spreading along his muzzle. "you should know me better by now. why would I harm an Old thing like you?"
there was a guff snort, and some dirt flew out of the hole. Jasper jerked his head to the side to avoid it. "I aint fallin' fer dat ya hear you lousy Fox. I didn't get dis old by trusted yer kind." the older gruff voice barked from inside the hole.
"oh now now Egas" Jasper said coolly, shaking his head in pity

Inhaling deeply the calming scent of summer pine, Venetia's eyes fluttered open as she strolled along the forest path. Normally, it was nearly impossible for her to stay still for long...never having spent a day in the sun laying there. No, she would much rather walk along the boundaries of the Firebringer territory admiring her surroundings and enjoying the warm season. Feeling troubled by her upcoming decision, the hind was well aware that not being in a herd when winter approached was a foolish decision indeed. Yet....where did she belong? Wandering far off lands like her mother had done, or settling into the herd for a typical hind life of belonging to a stag, raising a family and remaining her days worrying about rank and other females competing in harems? Sighing lightly, she tilted her ivory head to the sky. Was there no easy way to life a satisfying life?
Abruptly torn from her thoughts, she head some yips and barks coming from not too far away...curiously her body turned in her stroll to investigate. Silently standing at the edge of the small forest opening, her ruby orbs observed a fox with his attention locked on a hole under the tree's trunk...obviously something was under there as dirt flew out of the hole which the fox quickly avoided. The odd barking continued as she could only fathom what he was barking into the hole...perhaps he was talking in some strange language? Or....he could have just been making sounds to draw whatever was in the hole out.

"Ia said I ain't comein' out! now SHOO" the voice from the hole barked again.
"very well old thing" Jasper sighed. shakeing his head and getting to his feet? "you sure?" he asked once more before he left. his answer came in the form of a face full of dirt. blinking his eyes to try and get the sand from them he scowled and turned around . he barely got two steps away from the Rabbits den before he caught sight of something very very displeasing. hackles raised and lips instantly curled as he growled threatening at the White Dow standing watching him.

Perking her large ears up, her eyes drifted to the hole where she heard an angry echoing squeak emitted. It seemed the fox had given up, and went to move before his eyes turned to her, immediately changing in attitude. With hackles raised and a snarl growling out of his sharp teeth, Venetia took a small step back in shock more then fear. She had never seen a fox before....never having seen any of these so called predators her parents spoke of. However, from description she knew the characteristics of then...wolves were large and bulkier, with wider muzzles and a more wide face. Foxes had really bushy tails, with thin faces and a streamline body to aid in being sneaky.
However, as the shock faded, she took a timid step forewards as if she wished to take a glimpse at what he had been so involved with in the hole. Craning her head high, she tilted her head to try and see into the hole from her distance - to no avail. Looking back to the fox, she cocked her head to the side lightly...wondering if he would attack her.

Jesper only increased the viscous noises he was make as the Hind advanced toward him. "back of you filth" he was barely about to mumble through his growls. licking his nose threateningly. he desided to show that he ment buisness. though he knew very well how dangerous Deer where. he was confadent in his own speed to aviod getting stepped on. lashing forward a bit. not coming close to her but attacking the air as she came, then backed up glaring at her.

Frowning ever so lightly, Venetia did not appreciate the hostility that this fox was giving to her. She did not plan to bother him, nor was she here to steal his prey...she didn't even eat other creatures! Using her front hooves to stop against the ground, as he lashed forewards. Crying out in anger, she took another jumping stomp before vaulting her body into the air over the fox and landed beside the tree trunk. Snorting, she kept her gaze on the sly creature, shaking her head slightly.

Darting to the side as she jumped over him, Jasper Zipped though the bushes, back out and onto the spot she had been standing in, teeth no longer bared, but eyes still wide and angry.
there was more angry chatter from inside the hole, and the head of an old rabbit poked out. chattering away at the Fox that was looking annoyed back at the hole dweller. the Rabbit then turned to look at the white Hind, chattering in the same manner then vanishing in the hole.
