Ah yeah sorry I posted that halfway through watching the Vid... I dunno I think I wouldn't be convinced by something like that end product, its OBVIOUS that its clipped to make it sound that bad you know? I mean if it were only one kid who's speech they had cut up then it would be more convincing and more likely, I get the message its trying to convey but its not doing a good job

That's the point though... If you click the other link (the video is video 10) the point of the video/satire is to show that the media can and many times does distort the truth and other information to the public.
Also... was the sound working on the first link?

THat disturbed me, yet I already knew things like that happened. I don't trust the media much because of things like that. Honestly, I know what the point of that video was, and it sickens me to know that's what the media does.

Yeah the sound was fine on the first link I just had to turn it all the way up sweatdrop
I realize how the media sometimes distorts the truth, don't get me wrong its not that I don't but that first link didn't really do a good job of portraying that in my eyes. It took parts from a bunch of different kids and chopped it up into an actual "speech" If regular media tried to do that I'd probably just stare and wonder what those kids actually WERE talking about.

Mhm... I understand what you mean now. If the same kid said it... then yes it would be so much more disturbing. It's still disturbing though isn't it?
How about this question: Is it right to use these kids in the video? Of course, they've all gotten consent and have been informed what this video will be used for. But is it still right to have kids do this video?

I guess its disturbing... I don't trust much that I hear anyway so I'm not too surprised by this like I said.
As for if its right, no its not but thats how they get the message across even more powerfully, by using kids

Yeah... the kids... poor kids... it made the message stronger (I mean... who wants to hear kids say that!?) but even if they were aware...
Edit: Hmmm... nobody else wants to discuss? I realize I don't make good threads often but... sweatdrop

I think it was fine to use the kids. They gave consent, and I assume that their parents gave consent. I think that they (the children and the parents) wanted for the message to be stronger.

This is exactly why I refuse to believe everything I am told by the media.

I've already got my convictions against the media. Sensationalism is so last year, post-sensationalism is where it's at.
I dislike the media because there was once a time in which a President could tell top reporting networks, "Here's exactly who I'm going to attack, when I'm going to do it, and why... and don't any of you tell anybody until after I do it."
Of course, nowadays, if a President tells the media that, nobody's gonna be quiet. And if he doesn't tell the media, then all of a sudden he's keeping secrets.
