He had gone back to the two-legger's camp after the snowfall to make sure that everything was alright. He wasn't one to be tamed, of course... But she was such a tiny two-legger and, sometimes, it didn't seem as if she could do anything on her own.

When he found her camp empty at such an early hour he snorted, a white cloud of steam streaming from his nostrils. Something wasn't right with that... She was always there early. Always. It was why he often came in the wee hours for a snack... And how she managed to groom him while he napped from time to time.

He lowered his head, snuffling at the ground for a moment before snorting again. He was not a wolf... Definately not good at any of that tracking stuff that he'd seen those sort of creatures doing... He couldn't catch the scent of a two-legger anywhere but he could catch the sent of a certain green mare.... Wasn't there another two-legger around the lake somewhere?

He trotted along the lake's shore, trying to recall if he'd ever seen anything out of place before as he did so. He almost missed the dying embers of a fire as his hoof nearly tromped on it. He snorted once more, 'pawing' his hoof against the ground as he sniffed at the ashes. There was something almost familiar here... Almost.

He began to nose around; big, blue muzzle getting into just about everything that it could. He was curious and, the more he snuffled, the more something began to click. His two-legger had been here... Maybe she was still here somewhere... Maybe she was in danger!

His snuffles became more determined as he made his way around the camp, finally coming up to the teepee that had been tied shut against the elements. He touched the flap with his nose, nickering softly before nudging it a bit harder. Open... He was a big, strong horse. Why couldn't he get a stupid teepee flap to open?

Usually he woke earily in the morning to attend to things but somehow knowing that he would end up with part of the deer kill and having to convince his guest not to freeze left him sleeping longer.

As it was when the horse came snuffling at his teepee he was just returning from a walk in dreams. He absently heard the noise but it did not register as anything. Wolves did not come this close to his camp so it must have just been his imagination.

The fire between them had kept her from shifting too close to the brave in her sleep and she had been grateful for that... As well as grateful for the blankets he had given her to keep warm and the warmth of the baskets beside her. It was the first time that she had been able to truly sleep since the warmth of summer had given way to cooler nights... She was safe... And warm... And well fed.

When snuffling did nothing he snorted loudly, pressing his hoof against the teepee flap. He knew she was in there... He could smell her this time... A strange smell that was something like fresh snow and spring flowers mixed together.

Whoever this other two-legger was simply had to be keeping her captive. No one kept his women tethered down... No one! He snorted again as he moved around the teepee, nudging at the side closest to where Tsisqua would have been lying with his head.

That woke him up. Grunting slightly as he shifted away from whatever was nosing at his teepee he sat up and looked at the shadowy figure outside. So it was a horse.

Getting up he walked over and untied the flaps keeping the wind out and tied one back so he could step outside. Was this horse curious? Or was he looking for something?

His eyes narrowed as he tried to stare down the two-legger that emerged from the teepee... The two-legger that was not his two-legger. Alright, what'd you do wit'er? He snorted, trying to make this simple creature with two legs understand him as he began sniffing around him; nudging every exposed part of the brave's body with his nose before attempting to push him aside to see exactly what he was keeping in his teepee? Where's mah two-legger?

The fuss outside and the strange horse-like noises caught her attention. Her brow furrowed as she sat up, pulling the wolf-skin blanket around her before pushing herself to her feet so that she could peek out of the teepee. "Tsisqua? What is going on?"

He kept the dark blue Soquili out of his home just bearly. he did not want the stallion stepping on the baskets by accident or stepping on his home either.

"It seems your friend has come for a visit." He rested a hand gently on the stallions nose to try to turn him from the teepee.

He snorted directly at Tsisqua's hand as the male version of a two-legger touched his nose. He would have nipped but he knew that two-legger skin was much different than Soquili skin and he didn't want to have to hurt him unless he needed to... And he would if he'd done anything to his two-legger.

Once he saw her step out of the teepee he immediately stepped between them; nudging her with his hindquarters so that she stumbled back while he continued to glare at the male-creature.

"Gata'utana, stop this." She swatted at his backside before she tried to push him away from her. "You are behaving as a donkey would. Tsisqua is a friend."

He didn't understand her words completely... He only knew that 'gata-whatever' was something that she only said to him... Which probably meant she wasn't bright enough to figure out that his name was Remy. It didn't matter, in her case, if she wasn't that bright though... She was a free spirit, much like he and his petite chere were... And he'd keep her safe from this other two-legger if he had to.

"Tsisqua... Do you have any apples? Maybe that will make him cease this foolishness." She shook her head, trying again to make the stallion back away.

"I do .. inside there is a covered basket with them" He kept them around for the green mare who appeared often. He watched the blue stallion and tried to figure out how to make him behave.

"I do not think he is fond of me"

She huffed as she stomped around to the front of the Soquili, gently grasping his head in her hands. "Tsisqua is a friend. He has been very kind to me. You shame me, Gata'utana. You must behave. If you do so, Tsisqua will be your friend as well." She nodded, letting her frustrated tones turn into something softer as she gently stroked his nose.

He knew that tone... It was not a good tone; whether used by two-legger females or females of his own kind. He nickered softly before lowering his head, looking up to his two-legger with big, bright eye. I was only trying to look out for you...

That was strange, he'd never seen one of the horses be protective of a human that was not their 'master'. Looking at the stallion he nodded. "I was doing nothing more than making sure she did not freeze over the night"

He snorted once more, letting his tail flicker this way and that against his flanks as his eyes danced back and forth between the two-leggers. He nudged his head against the female two-legger's hands before pulling back so that he could stare at the male again. He glared at him long and hard before finally coming to the conclusion that, maybe, he wouldn't be all that bad. I'ma keep mah eye on you... You bettah not do nothin' to mah two-leg'd chere, ya hear?

There was so much noise going on outside of the basket... So much noise and it had all started with the sounds of song coming from the warmth that had been beside her basket that night. She nosed the lid of the basket up, suprised to finally find herself able to do so. She wanted to know the noises... To know the sources of song and warmth... To know many things.

Her pale muzzle pushed the lid up higher, a strange sound of her own passing through her mouth as she tried to immitate the noises she'd heard outside. The lid was still too big... She couldn't... Quite... Move... It.

He smiled at Remy and tried to look as innocent as he could. It seemed that the stallion was protective of Ayatas. Strange as it was he supposed that with the strange ways the Soquili could look that wouldn't be all that strange.

After a moment of that he heard a strange noise from his Teepee. It hadn't been her voice but ..... had the baskets spoken?

She heard her sister make noise and nickered herself. Why was she making noise? Was something interesting happening? Nosing the lid of her basket she got it open enough that she could look out but could not lift it completely off.

His nose scrunched as he pulled his head back further at the sound of the strange, but familiar, noise. Alright, two-legger. What else you keepin' captive in there? He nosed past both his pretty and the brave in order to stick his head into the teepee to see what the commotion was.

... He snorted as fiery eyes caught sight of baskets... And tiny noses sticking out of them. He turned, glaring at Ayatas and Tsisqua. These bettah not be yours... You stay away from him. He bad news... Givin' you baskets. See what happens when I let you out of my sight?

"Crazy horse." She shook her head as she tried to shoo him away once more. "Leave Tsisqua's teepee alone. If you knock it over I will be very displeased with you and so will he. He will have to come stay in my teepee then."

He took a step back as he was shoo'd away, still visibly curious about the baskets. There were little soquili in there and he wanted explainations.

There were noises again... Pretty Voice and Strange Horse. She whickered softly, whining as she tried to stand on wobbly legs. Maybe if her head wasn't strong enough to push the lid off the rest of her body would be. She just wanted out. OUT.

He walked around Remy and looked in the teepee. "I think he startled the little ones." He could see the lids shifting as the foals in them tried to struggle their way out.

There were three out there. One that sounded like them and one sounded pretty and one sounded strong. She wanted out to see what was out there and what was happening.

She made her way into the teepee, stooping down before the baskets. "It is alright, little ones. Do not let Gata'utana frighten you. He is full of smoke." She nodded slowly as she reached out to carefully lift the yellow lid of the first basket.

Her nostrils flared at the soft scent of the Pretty Voice as it neared them. Pretty Voice was also Pretty Scent. She shifted her head in the basket, pale blue eyes peering out. There... Her sister was being let out... Why wasn't she? A-li-s-de-lu-di.
