I can't sing solo, I tense up. The only time I've ever sang solo is with my rock band, and thats not proper singing.
Plus half the time I scream into the mic, instead of singing, and then I have the widespread punky-screamo voice. With my band, that is. So yeah... that's not choir-quality singing.

But when I'm singing in the group, if they were singing quietly under me, I could sing the solo no problem, so everyone could hear. With nothing... well... X_X I tense.

Solos terrify me.

After my solo at our Christmas concert, when I got back to the risers, Marshal (the guy who stands next to me and a really good friend of mine) had to help hold me up for the next two songs. I was shaking so bad I was sure my legs were going to collapse out from under me.

I'm trying to get myself over it though, thus why I sing solos on occasion. I'm just... not very good at it.

I'm actually the exact opposite, heh. I'm fine talking in front of large groups, and I've been acting since I was in second grade. Being up in front of people isn't a problem. For some reason though, singing in front of people scares the living daylights out of me. It didn't used to, I had a lot of solos when I was younger, and it wasn't until about my Sophomore year of high school that this fear developed. No idea where it came from, it was just suddenly there.
