His head hung low, his maw dripping with a splatter of blood. His recent kill had left its mark on him if only for the little while. Though, the body was still delicious as the next. He was a predator, he had to eat, and predators ate prey. It was how things worked. It was natural. His blood colored eyes glanced around the Pride Lands. His belly was full and his mind was set. Today he was gonna have to find his son.
His legs carried him as the path was longed, however, strange things started to run through his mind. It had been almost months since he had seen his son. He was an adult now.
Did he have a family? Was he happy? Did he remember his family of the Muroder Pack? Was he pregnant? ...wait, what?
He paused as lifted his muzzle. Something gave off a strange odor and Ashki sought it out. Whomever it may be, may know something about the wolf.

Amaterasu thought it had to be any day now... Her belly was so swollen... She waddled across the lands, still determined to explore the place so she'd know some good places to take her two pups. She panted in the hot sun as she padded along, taking in the beautiful waves of grass. As long as she would be here, she hoped the sight would never get old to her. She simply loved the feeling the beauty of the land instilled in her.
Her thoughts were interupted by a scent that made her drool. Blood. Food. She had been living primarily on mice and whatever Kaede caught for her, which was all small food. Just little snacks. The smell wasn't strong but it was enough to draw her attention in the direction of its source, where she saw the last thing she wanted near a kill. Another hunter. She had to approach. Maybe it was a friendly lion, or another wolf. She headed in the direction slowly, planning an escape if it was hostile.

Ashki pressed through the tall grass. The scent, he knew it all two well since he had smelt it for the past many moons. It was the scent of a pregnant female. Females often gave off an odor when they were ready to bear cubs. When they were close to birthing them, then the odor is a bit stronger. In his line of work, he smelt that a lot and knew it very....very well.
Coming out the grass he came face to face with another maned wolf, obviously female and pregnant. He smirked and let a growl form in his throat. By the looks and smell of it, it was not too long now. Hmm...perhaps this was one of the females he had been with. No, she did not look familiar.
"Bearing cubs? Where is the father of the cubs you bear, did he abandon you?"
He said with a sneer.
"How shameful that the father left the family."
He shook his head and gave a slight smirk. A feelings that was close to his own, well the theme was. Family.

Amaterasu's face contorted to a look of anger at the stranger's question. Not at him, but at the father. "Yes. That low down-dirty rotten pig left me right after he got me pregnant," Amaterasu snarled, looking off to the side. "I told the jerk I wanted a family, and he promised me he'd stay around... Then I woke up one morning and he was gone," Amaterasu said, her anger simmering. "But I did get what I wanted, to an extent. I've got the cubs." Ammy said, anger gone at the thought of her vision with her two pups.
Her mind immediately went back to the food. "By the way, do you happen to have a kill with you that you'd be willing to share?" Ammy asked timidly, dropping her ears a bit.

Ashki smirked. Food, he had some actually. He had carried it a bit and dropped it a ways back. It was small, but still of use. He shrugged and disappeared into the grass. Moments later he had returned with a calf of what looked to be a gazelle or maybe an antelope. The blood was still on his maw a bit when he placed it down.
"A mother needs to eat to feed the young. Be weary as you are alone in this family and will need to fend for them yourself. That male was wrong as was I the many times I've mated. None of it was for love or the want for a family but for the pleasure and profit." He sighed. "Now that I look back to it, I see how you must feel toward him. I have wronged many as it seems. Dislike me was you wish, but remember that you should not get stressed as it strains the cubs you carry."
He lied down and watched her. He reminded him of his old mate in some ways, but she was still not her. As duty of an alpha, he had to keep the female company until she did not want it anymore.
"The name is Ashkikatazwa, Ashki if you please. What is your name, female?"

"I'm Amaterasu, Ammy for short, if you wish," Ammy said. She gave the wolf a weird look. He was no different from her "mate"... Except that he had felt bad for what he'd done. Besides, she couldn't stay mad at him long... This was the first real food she'd had since her belly had impeded her hunting.
She ravenously began feeding, not caring how sloppy her face got. She didn't really dislike Ashki from the little she knew of him... He realized he was wrong in the past, and that was better than not caring at all. "I've never seen you around here. Are you a wanderer?" Ammy asked, trying to learn a bit more about the male.

"I've been in these lands for many months, mating with females distracted me for my original purpose of coming to these lands in the first place. I guess you could say pleasure blinded me. To answer your question, yes, I am a wander. My pack has dispersed further than I could oversee so now I must seek them out."
He replied as he remained tall. His tail flagged and his head high with ears perked; signaled to the female his rank. He was an alpha, ex-alpha, but alpha nevertheless. He watched over the pregnant female and was gonna keep watch over her until she did not want his company no more, as was the ways of a pack.
"Tell me about this male, perhaps I will encounter this b*****d during my travels and make him beg you for forgiveness. Pups should not be raised without their father, at the very least a fatherly figure. I assume you are seeking one?"
His voice was deep and strong, at the same time commanded such strength and demanded respect. Only those of his own species did he act in such away, and only those he kept close did he actually care for and the only ones that could wound him the deepest and so much worse.
"Amaterasu, Do you believe that if the father returned that you'd welcome him back or would you rather leave him behind in your memory and seek another?"

His pack... Amaterasu thought to herself. She was certain now that he was an alpha of his pack, whatever became of them. He was still an alpha.
She chuckled at his remark of making the father beg for forgiveness as she laid down as well, carefully and slowly. She had eaten all of the meat, and was quite content. She pondered his question for a moment, then responded, "I think I'd rather leave him behind. I only knew him for a while, and he turned out to be a backstabber anyway. It'd be best to leave him behind," She answered. "I do miss him... but I guess anyone can say words covered with sugar. It had been enough to fool me into giving him what he wanted," Ammy said with a touch of bitterness. "I was so naive," she chuckled at herself, shaking her head gently. "I would definetly never take him back," Amaterasu said, making eye contact with Ashki.

Ashki watched her with blood red eyes, ones of unforgivable sins and those of justly punishment. He was a sinner, a demon, a male. Ashki rose to his feet and cautiously moved toward her. Females, especially mothers and pregnant ones, were very dangerous than their male counterparts when threatened. His movements were strong and bold not fearing her at all. Once by her side, he laid down beside her.
"You are right, you've made a wise choice and gave me less work. As much as I would like to beat the life out of that male, I've done the same and surely those females' mates would come for me. However, I would green them with open paws. I've sinned, I know that, I am a sinner in ways unimaginable to a normal mind. However, this male that took advantage of you seems worse for he does not consider the consequence. The females that have came to me knew it and I gave it to them. So it would not entirely be my fault, but that is something aside."
He scoffed and kept his attention opened to everything as he listened onto everything around them.
"Amaterasu, you may rest if you require it but know when you wake, I must leave again to find someone.....By chance do you know any wolf my the name Mizoga or Usufii'moyo?"

Amaterasu let her ears lower a bit as the male approached her, but they raised again when he laid down. Ammy listened to Ashki's words, and nodded in agreement. She personally thought they didn't have the right to come chasing after him if they knew he'd leave them. It was their own fault then. But her mate... He had made her believe he'd stick around and raise the family. Thinking of the scoundrel just worked her up, so she wiped him from her mind.
"I don't think I really need to rest... I'm refreshed from that food. Thank you very much, I needed it," Ammy said, but she continued on excitedly, "I have met a maned wolf named Usu! Grey, right? With some scars?" Amaterasu asked, trying to remember if he said he was going anywhere... "I don't think he mentioned where he was headed though. I do know he was on the move," Amaterasu told Ashki, hoping she could help him.

Ashki perked his ears and looked over to her. She knew Usufii? Grey sounded like him, but scars? What had that little runt been getting into? Had he been picking fights? Maybe he was following his pawprints and being a tough male. Or maybe he just got picked on and bullied. Regardless, he was alive.
"That is him! It has to be, not many that I know of would go by such a unique name. So you've seen him, he is alive and still out there. I must keep searching for him. I apologize, but I must leave. Just remember this, Amaterasu, you have a family now, all yours to love and cherish. Don't take it for granted as one day they will grow up and they will go their separate ways but you will remember that they are yours and you raised them. Just...keep it while it lasts and watch them grow....something I had lost the chance of doing. Make sure that the runt of the litter is raised right 'cause you know he'd be better than the rest."
He smirked and snapped playfully at her ear.
"Take care, mother-too-be. May our paths meet again, I hope to see a happier female than I see before me now. Good-bye, Amaterasu."
Without another glance he sprinted off. It was only when he was a good run away that he forgot where she had seen him....Crap...

"Wait!" Ammy called to Ashki, but it was too late. He was fast, she was surprised. She didn't know anything could move that fast!
She did hope their paths met again, she could tell he was a very wise wolf, who always knew what to do. She stared off in the direction he had gone for a while, chewing over his advise, remembering it... Hoping that if she should ever forget, she could summon it in a vision, for those were words of experience. "I will be happier next time we meet," Ammy said to him quietly, despite the fact he was far out of earshot. She understood the need he had to find something. Usu himself had renewed the feeling in Ammy. She turned and headed home, with a bone from his kill.
