Crunch...Crunch....Crunch.....Snap....Snap....Snap...

Where in the Elephant Graveyard did one not hear these noises? Nowhere. Every step upon these barren lands would it come out. The crunching of the dirt under the paws of the traveler, the rattling of the bones as they fell on each other, the mournful cries of the bones when the wind blow. To Shira, it was all but music to her. This was her home now and she had grown to love it. Now that there is lions here in the Maziko Pride, it was a threat to the lands. Nationalism one would think. Their lands, no trespassers. The tawny hyena had made many more rounds than her usual patrol. Her mind was set on the intruders and nothing else.

Anything that touched that border was gonna be attacked, regardless of species...even her own. Hyenas belonged in packs, it gave safety in numbers and it made things so much easier. The downside was that they were like slaves to the Alpha. Mafa may be the alpha and her words were "kind", Shira was still hesitant of her stand in her thoughts. Was Mafa to be trusted or be hated with the rest? Yakuti....was deterring on that very thin line now...

She was thinking about him again.

Suddenly, the eerie laughter of the cloudy Jisu rang out, echoing loudly against the rotting skeletons of the once-regal pachyderms. Wild golden eyes watched Shira, amused by her loud entrance (although -his- was louder!) and troubled expression. It was like watching a gazelle stomp on lions' tails!

With light jumps and dodges of the bones, the hyena made his way down to the female counterpart, smiling in a chivalrous manner. He bowed a bit. Why is she here? he wondered, before looking up. "How do you do, miss? M'name's Jisu." he greeted, eyes examining her. She didn't look a thing like a hyena was supposed to; her fur was too light, and her mane reminded him of those awful Pridelanders. All blonde and fluffy. Although, her eyes.... were rather pleasant to look at. Like 2 puddles of water amidst a desert.

Shira instantly growled, going to the offensive. Then again she would have if a rattle of bones fell or something. Anything that startled here would make her react like so, even if it didn't startle her. However, here there was an intruder, a stranger, right before her eyes. His patterns were like those of those long necked pre but with a much darker pelt. Who was he? What was he doing here in the Elephant Graveyard, hyena as he may be, but he was not part of the pack tio her knowledge. His face was not seen upon the many that were there. Who was he and what did he want.

"Manners get you nowhere, male. As for my name, Tashira'Kikituo. Treat me with respect and use my name, my birth name and you might deserve your name spoken in return. Tell me, male, what brought you here and what is it that you want?"

Sure, she was not the best welcome wagon here in the graveyard, that was Yakuti's job. By far, as she knew, he was the nicest and kindest hyena here unless it came down to doing his job and attacking lions. She however, was mean and quite cruel. She hated males, the sterotypical power hungry, lusting ones. If they were females and not Wild Dogs, she could tolerate them, otherwise they are either ignored or attacked. This male hyena was a stranger and happened to run into her during a very frustrating time for her and on patrol too. How unfortunate.

"Answer me before you lose that ability."

The smile on Jisu's lovely face widened, causing him to chuckle a bit. "Being rude gets you nowhere, miss. And as for my presence, I'm sure you've heard of a hyena pack residing here? Well, I must say, I was shocked to hear about this, but then again, I was only a juvie." He gave another light, yet errie cackle.

What he was doing was making small-talk; he knew this hyena was bigger than him and could easily bite his head off. Oooh, yes, he'd had a few run-ins with female hyenas, leaving him crippled at times. "I'm interested in joining this pack, that is, if they'd let in a male." He emphasized on the 'male' part, rolling his eyes, before they rested on Tashira. "So hows about it, Tashi? Shall you let me join your ever-important pack, or shall we stand here and let me gaze at your illustrious coat?" He smirked playfully, eyes now half-way open.

...Was that four strikes against him just then or was it six? Already this male was on her bad side and that usually ended badly for anyone even female too. When Taashira was mad it was clearly known to stay away from her when given the chance. With a forced exhale, she looked back at him.

"I know of it for I am part of it. The graveyard pack is under Mafa's rule, a female and there is no alpha male just so you know. However, there are males there and they are..." she paused and rolled her eyes. "...welcomed."

She turned her head back for a second to the point where this male could not see her. She gave a gagging expression for saying those words together. Never again....This was not her job, she guard. But then again, so was Yakuti and he had recruited her. Turning back she eyed him over.

"Follow, male. And if you want me to call you by name, just show some decent respect. Not every female accepts flatter and compliments."

"With someone like you, surely you cannot expect to aid us during our raid against the intruders in our lands. However, I am not suppose to judge as that is Mafa's job. Keep your maw shut and show her respect or I'll snape it off though either of us can do it."

She smirked and walked on into the center of the Elephant Graveyard.

"If I am to call you by your name by force, I suppose you'll have to call me my name by force, too. For there is no greater force than love." He smiled innocently, before trotting after Taashira.

As the male hyena looked at the gloomy, death-filled surroundings, it caused him to open his mouth again. "You know, m'dear... you shouldn't be in this kind of area. Death simply doesn't do you any justice. Perhaps if you were to go off and live in the Southlands? You'd blend right in." He laughed, eyes flashing mischievously. One day he'd be killed for that sense of gayity and chivalry.

Yet he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing toward her; yes, it was a small feeling that might tingle him, but it could grow. If only she'd be a tad nicer. Although, what could one expect from a female hyena? They were taught to be spiteful and cruel, unless they were pups.

"I would not be forced to say any name. I hardly regard Mafa as alpha as I just call her Mafa, her birth name. I do shorten names, but that is of my own. And as for love....shut up."

She growled as she kept on moving ahead. She did not want to look at him, he was almost like the exact opposite of how males are. Sure, she hated the dominate, power-hungry, lustful males, the kind and chival ones are just plain annoying.

"Hold your tongue, male. I am not pretty, or at least I do not see myself as. I am a hyena, I belong here with my kind." she thought for a moment. Was he trying to hit on her? Where was his mind? Piss off...guess it was to turn the subject in another direction. "You know, you should not be here either. Surely someone like you could find such a better place and a better female. But if you so desire me you'll have to contend with the big, blue monster that is my mate."

She smirked and laughed to herself on the inside. That was entirely sarcastic. She would have killed him if he kept on talking the way he was. But if he wanted to come onto her, he'd have to contend with Yakuti whom was now training to be strong for her.

Males....

"Just so you know, I may be with you when you meet Mafa. It is up to you if you want me there or just leave alone with the leader of the pack. Oh, and try make moves on her...she'll snap your head off."

Okay, she was enjoying the time she got to torment and play with his mind. Though Mafa could do that if she wanted to. Hey, she'd do it herself if it got on her nerves.
