Oh dear, oh dear. A tan pelted lioness was walking in small circles, looking aorund. SHe was out in the open, the tall green grass blades touching her sides. She was thin, hadn't hunted in a while. Due to the fact she wasn't sure how to really.

Now she was so far from teh place she had known for a short time. She was older, though still a cub inside. She was never told what was wrong or right, never got the chance to. She was alone and afraid, not sure where to go. She couldn't hide anywhere but the grass. And that wouldn't do.

"Where...where do I go now...oh...I'm so confused..." Kat curled up in a ball, closed her eyes. Tried to imagine her sister laying next to her like she did so long ago, the voices of her mother and father had long faded. She wanted to be home, havea home. She didn't like being alone like this.

User Image Sumilyth heard something muttering under it's breath, waking him from a pleasant nap under the shade of a lone tree. He yawned a large cat-like one before gazing about for the source of the mumbling. She nearly blended in just as well as he did with the grass and he had a perfect view of her too without her notice.

He admired the way her form moved with her pacing, the sun shining on her fur coat. The brown dorsal stripe caught his attention. He was too far away to see her eyes, but so far, he was enjoying what he was seeing. And any female is what he loved watching the most.

He moved from where he sat, placing his white and tan paws firmly on the ground that lead him to this new beauty. He sat down just a few feet from her pacing and just watched. The grass was matted down from her steps and he could help but laugh softly to himself.
"For one as beautiful as yourself, you shouldn't let a frown of worry crease that lovely face of yours."

Kat wasn't paying attention, didn't see him come closer, then when she heard his voice she squeaked and jumped up in the air. When her paws touched the ground again she crouched down so much her belly was touching the earth. She was trying to blend in and sink away into nothingness, she wasn't sure if he was friend or foe.

Was he...complimenting her?

She tilted her head, stayed low, but spoke softly, "W-what do you want...please don't hurt me..." she had heard stories of rogue lions that were mean and hurt those they came across. She wasn't sure if he was one like that as well, so she stayed low, and tried to be still.

He curled his tail around himself, tapping the fluffy copper brown tip on the ground in thought as he looked her over. He did not understand why she was so frightened, but he would stay still until she was at ease again. "Lovely, I would have pounced on you first and never spoke if I was going to hurt you. Now unwind that spring you have set in yourself and relax. I won't lay a claw or tooth on you."

He held up one paw as if he was a boyscout. His golden eyes were full of humor at this situation. He slowly put it back down and stayed seated. "Now back to my question. Why so worried? And another question, why so alone?" He tilted his head to one side as if trying to figure it out for himself.

She watched him closely. He didn't seem like he would hurt her. Oh but what if it was a trick! She flicked her tail to the side, sat up slowly, but stayed low slightly. Just watching him. He was nice...perhaps she was quite wrong about him afterall.

"I-I'm sorry...just...so nervous around others...I've been alone for a while...I don't..have anyone else anymore..." she looked away to the side and thought of her family. Her heart ached, she missed them so much. She missed her sister, she wished she was still here.

"My names Katana'Kitsune...or K-Kat for short...who're you?"

He smiled brightly, still trying to sooth the female's nerves. "I call myself Sumilyth. You sound just as alone as I do, but you aren't alone for now. I am keeping you company. But you seem to be in trouble. I am your humble servant and shall assist you. All you need do is ask."

"But but..." she sank lower to the ground. Why was he being so nice? Had he lost his family too? Or perhaps he had just gone off on his own. "I just...don't know where to go anymore..." she said softly, eyes peering to the side, her ears perked up somewhat as she looked back at him,a slight smile upon her maw, "C-can I call you Sumi for short?"

"If you find that to be more suitable to your tongue, then Sumi I shall be." He swept a paw before him and towards his heart in a humble dip of his head. His golden eyes had a certain spark to them that seemed cheerful and loving. He had a very catty-smile on his lips when he spoke, "If you are in need of a tour guide, then I would be happy to show you around as I rediscover the lands for myself. Or was there something more?"

"Perhaps...." she said softly, trying to get the rest of her sentence out without making herself seem like a fool, "Perhaps just...just a walk?" she was wary of him still, though he seemed kind enough. But she wanted to be sure. Wanted to be very sure that he was indeed nice and well mannered and natured.

He raised a brow and then stood from where he had sat. A simple request, though he would wait on her paw-and-paw, anything to get a little bit of that fine lioness tail. "Just a walk? Very well then. We shall walk together and get to know one another. You won't mind if I stay close to you, will you? It has been awhile since I've had company and I'm sure you could enjoy it as well. And then it will be less likely for us to be overheard."

She watched him with wary eyes, she wasn't sure to expect from another out here. SO strange, but good to have come across someone like him , rather than another who might try to hurt her. "S-sure...I'm sorry that...I'm nervous....its just....b-been so long..." so long since she had been in the company of another, so close to her. It wasn't that bad though, perhaps as they walked, they would find some nice really cold water. She liked real cold water then luke warm water.

"Are you wandering out here too...Sumi?"

Sumilyth chuckled deeply and started wandering off in some random direction. He wasn't laughing at her nervousness. No, he was laughing at her last question. "Lovely, I am always wandering. I do not know where home is and I doubt home would be happy to see me. I can't even remember much of what my life was like before the trip down river. But tell me, why are you out here alone? Don't you have family?"

Kat listened to him talk. A trip down the river? Well, was that a good or bad thing? Better not ask though, would be strange to ask a strange question. "My family?" she said in a question, her voice had gotten softer. Everyone seemed interested in where her family was. "There...gone, the plague, they took them from me but..." she cast her eyes to the side, "I'm going to try to live my life best I can...to live it for them..."

He tilted his head to the side at the mention of the plague. He could barely recall memories of that occuring where he had come from, but the images of his past faded away from him like water in the cup of your hand. He wasn't sure if he had imaged it or if it was real and something his mind still could draw on after that fall from the waterfall.

Sumilyth flashed her another charming smile, in hopes that it would sooth her some.
"A very admirable position to stand on. Just make sure you leave some room for yourself. Don't become something your parents were trying to be. They would have wanted you to just live for yourself."

Kat sighed and nodded, "I know I just...I want to become something that they would be proud of...that my sister would've liked to be...I would be happy, if they were happy smiling down upon me..." She stopped and leaned her head forward and closed her eyes, she felt an ache in her body, "I miss them so much..." She didn't mean to trouble Sumi with her past, but it was so hard for her to deal with day after day, knowing she would never wake up to see them ever again.
