The pale female with green markings made her way, slowly, across the lands of the oasis. The three v marks ached a bit as did her growing stomach. Her tail flicking behind her she realized that this was the first time in a while that she had taken a walk in the morning, every other time had been at night, when the moon shone.

Each step left a paw print in the sand but was covered as her flicking tail passed over it. Her violet colored eyes glistened slightly as she looked up into the sky before focusing on what was infront of her

The terrain was vaguely familiar to the male was he padded onward; not really heading anywhere, but then again, he wasn't coming from anywhere either. Nowhere to go to, nowhere to come from... Ushaufu was confused. Or rather, he wasn't confused anymore, of instead was trying to stomach what he'd learnt over the time he'd been wandering aimlessly. He'd left Varg behind.. he'd left everyone behind; he needed to think, and when deception went on a thinking trip, it was known to take a while. In fact, it'd taken so long that the male had barely noticed the fact he'd grown. Now, this wasn't a singularly strange event for most, however, the fact the lanky god had remained a cub for oh-so-long before ever hitting his growth spurt and the fact Truth had pondered that perhaps her brother's growth was linked to the heart, changed the perspective of things.

Alas, Ushaufu had barely noticed he'd grown; his mane had never grown to cover his neck however, remaining as long, wide strip of dark green hair that travelled the back of his neck and down along his back. It was strange; he was an adult, indeed, and he looked like one, larger than he'd been before, however, the lack of a mane made him resemble more of an overgrown mountain lion or puma, than a real lion.

His wings remain visible upon his back as he treded upon the dry soil, his tongue coming out momentarily to lick his maw before he lifted his red hued eyes; the place was familiar indeed, and he really didn't know why. Then again, he really didn't care either; he was still too busy thinking. He thought about his mother, his father, whomever they were. He thought about his sister, Truth, and his step brother, Denial... he also thought about the dieing forests he'd left behind; those trees he'd come to think of as home. However, he thought about Kizuka above all; the feelings were contradictory, some good, some bad and most in between, confused.

Thus so the god barely even noticed it when he padded right into man's oasis; a territory he'd long ago visited, way before she showed up. Way before he'd begun to grow, but mentally and physically.

It wasn't till he practically hit himself against the wall of the temple that Ushaufu finally paused his thoughts and turned to look up and around, finding himself in the middle of the oasis; a place that suddenly clicked his mind and drew out memories of a young wannabe male-seer cub with strange markings, "Damn it..." the word was hissed as the male furrowed his brow somewhat, taking in a deep breath in order to release it as a sigh, and he only thought that crossed his mind then was that 'home' was a mere flight away from here, and that 'she', Kizuka, would be there. Part of him hoped she was, while part of him hoped she wasn't; that she'd gone away, far away where he couldn't find her, and far away from that dieing place where they had hardly been able to hunt and eat.

Tell truth, the god hadn't been eating very well, even now; he barely ate, merely the necessary, and he didn't hunt, rather; he'd just eat off taken down corpses. His mind just wasn't into it; it'd been lost for a while now, and though he no longer lived in denial, he lived... somewhere else. Hissing again, Ushaufu turned around, planning on heading out of the oasis, and on a different direction, opposite from mist weaver territory, however, the pale form of another caught his attention, his eyes narrowing at the lioness as she padded nearer.

That white pelt, that green marking.. those eyes.

He knew this one.

He remembered her, however, his mind was keen on remembering a happy, placid, young cub, and what his eyes were seeing was far from the mental image; this lioness had grown, and she was heavy with cubs. He could tell. How he could tell, he wasn't entirely sure, however, it didn't seem to matter; he seemed to grasp the opportunity to escape his own mind for a while and instead spread his wings, flapping them a few times before landing in front of the pale lioness, looking much like death personified for a moment. The bones within the large black wings, creaked and clashed awkwardly, creating a horrible sound as he stared down at her; he wasn't much bigger than she was, but still large enough to loom over her, his head tilted to one side, "My, my, what has life done to you, little white, lost cub? How is it you've ended up in such a place?" his words were slightly harsh, dripping sarcasm and perhaps holding a hint of a mocking edge to them as he arched a brow, "Still lost and all alone?"

Light wing blew against the form of the female in the opposite direction than the one she was heading in. Stopping only for a brief moment Malika'eusi closed her eyes and let the cool air wrap around her before opening them and proceeding with her walk. The naive lioness had not yet noticed the god not too far from her.

However when the god moved toward her and then landed on her, she couldn't help but let out a startled cry as she moved backwards. Registering that there was a god infront of her she looked at him closely. Tilting her head she could not place why he looked so familiar to her.

"W-who are you? You look so familiar do I know you?" Malika managed out, stuttering only once, having gained some control over it for the most part. "I'm not lost, nor am I alone, I live here....Why do you ask?" The lioness then arched a brow at him remained standing, extremely confused but refusing to let the other know how confused she really was.

"Little lost cub in the desert one day," his voice was still almost acidic, as if the god were venting his whole frustration upon the smaller female, "Whom found a green hued cub that day and followed him to find a snake; little lost white cub, whom remains lost till this very day..." his lips raised slightly into a silent snarl as he tilted his head, looking down at her, and though he tried to muster disdain, the god soon enough found he simply could not. Instead he settled for glaring at her through his red eyes, narrowing them in turn, "Little lost cub, came upon an oasis, ran by a large one; a tyrant; a place full of lies that they weave endlessly, and that deceived little cub wanders still, though it's a different desert; that of her mind."

At this point, the god smirked, almost as if pleased with the idea; deception was his reign after all, and though he did take pleasure from his own words, a pang of pain, understanding, flashed through the male's eyes, the smirk slowly fading into that same silent snarl. There had been a time he'd have played with her; he'd have lied to her and he'd have taken extreme pleasure from it, however, for some odd reason yet beyond him him (or perhaps not so much beyond as ... him simply not wanting to acknowledge it), Ushaufu could not smile, "You don't remember me, do you?" the acid and the cryptic were gone, replaced by a hoarse sound that rumbled up his throat, "I'd have expected you to have remembered that day, but then again, I never wondered what had become of you; it'd probably have been better if you have remain alone and lost in that desert," a snort was issued a this point, and the male finally took a step back from her, sitting away from her as he glanced around the oasis.

The place had not changed much, and he doubted that he whom ruled it had changed either. The thought that he'd heard rumours of War having taken up this small territory as his flashed through his mind, however, Deception idly flicked it away; he'd be long gone soon enough. War would not mind so long he didn't tamper with his toys, and tell truth, Ushaufu was simply not in the mood to really play as he'd discovered seconds earlier anyhow.

What a waste.

Looking back at her, the god flicked an ear her way, frowning, a hint of concern over his features before it washed away, "Home you say; this is home to you?" for some odd reason the god grimaced; he'd heard rumours of what had gone on here, of the king that ruled this place, and personally though unsure if what he'd heard was right or wrong, the idea of calling such a place 'home' was foul in his mind, "Whatever suits you," a pause followed as he lowered his gaze to her stomach, "And your blood, of course; I've not got a home. I did once though. And it was nothing like this; one thing they did have in common though..." as he talked, his red eyes narrowed, his wings unconsciously unfolding, spreading before her, "It stunk of death... however so, for obvious different reasons."

By now, he wasn't truly sure if she even knew what he was implying; could someone live here and still remain naive enough to be confused? Because it WAS confusion what he read upon her features; he'd become used to confusion and found that after experimenting it upon his skin for so long, it was easy to pin point on others.

The lioness's mind race trying to place that day so long ago in the desert, she remembered the snake as it came by often to see her, though she let it live in the jungle since she found the desert to be let comfortable for it. Finally her mind clicked and brought up the green cub. Eyes wide she took a step back to look at him better. "Ushaufu?" She whispered quiter than her normal, soft voice. He looked so very different than she remembered him, did he have wings back then? She couldn't remember the event had happened so long ago it was a miracle that she had remembered his name.

Tilting her head once more she didn't understand his words very well, Tyrant? Lies, still lost? Could he be talking about Nyekundu? The truth of the matter was that Malika had no idea how cruel Nyek really was, she had not seen that side of him, ever. She had heard some talk of it but she had not payed much attention to their words. It seemed that everyone knew of the tyranny that Nyek ran except for the pale lioness. This made her wonder why Angamika, the fake seer, had not told her about Nyek being a tyrant.

Were they all trying to hide something from her, something she shouldn't know. Malika then began to doubt the ones she had considered friends, but who was she to trust, Usu whom she had only seen a little until now, or those that she had spent being around since she was a juve. Her mind raced trying to figure things out.

"This is my home, with out it I would still be wandering, I would still be alone......" Malika whispered her words softly looking down at the ground as she spoke. "No matter where you go or where you run to the place you have called home will always be a home to you even if you leave it for eventually you may return there since there is something or someone waiting for you that you have never realized." Malika told the other thinking of the strange marked male that she had grown to adore, despite not seeing him for long periods of time, he would be the reason she returned if she ever left the boundaries of the oasis for long periods of time.

A sneer was the mere answer she got from the god, whom turned his blood red gaze away from, his ears flattening back. He seemed to be looking away, into the distance, at something only he could see, and though he did not answer inmediately, and seemed to have brushed the pale lioness away from all mind or thought, her words were being pondered, "Sometimes it's better to be alone," his gaze finaly rested upon her, his smirk a cruel one which seemed to ring with a hidden messague, "At times, being alone keeps us from being within the company of those that wish to use us, or harm us," finaly padding towards her, he loomed over her form, looking down at her now, almost threatening, even though his body language seemed to indicate this was not true, "Poor, poor little lost cub..."

The words were acidic, but Ushaufu had never been eloquent when feelings were at stake; this one lithe lioness had been the first to talk to him, even on equal basis, and had accepted him the way he was. He was lost now, true, but she was further lost than he'd ever been, and that one thought seemed to bother. It was a notion he was trying to deny, but experience of months previous to this one day had already taught him what 'caring' felt like, and even if the feeling was much softer for this one than it was for Kizuka and her daughter, it was still there, somewhat.

He could feel it, and it bothered him gravely.

There was a pause then, almost significant as an idea occured to him, and his eyes narrowed, "Whom is the father?" his paw reached out and tapped her side ever so slightly, almost as if silently trying to hint that he knew; oh how he knew. Her scent told him so, and even such a thing seemed to hurt, for unknown reasons; they were not reasons to do with this pale one, however, but rather, reasons that made a certain pale and brown lioness' face flash through his mind's eyes. He could not refrain the silent snarl that swept against his form, "I wonder..." he murmured, finaly pulling away from her, "If this little lost cub found her way to love, or to Deception," something told him it was the later, and again the pang of worry crept up his spine.

There was no way to deny it was there; that pang of care, of worry. He wished he could keep this mortal safe too, but that was something he could not acomplish; he was not the god of protection. It was so ironic he could not help but smirk, more at himself, than at her.

Being alone was a good thing?

Malika didn't really understand what he meant by that. The young lioness loved being around others and hated being by herself for long periods of time. Lately it had not been too much of a problems, since she met with the princess almost everyday. Then he spoke again confusing her a bit more then her thoughts flashed to Nyekundu....

Was he just using me?

....I know he didn't love me but....

Doubt began to swell in her mind about her king, she had done what she had to help the pride, but did the salmon tinted male really even care what happened to her anyway? Mentally the pale lioness shook her head, she couldn't doubt him now.

When Ushaufu's body loomed over her, Malika only looked up with her violet eyes, seemingly searching for an answer in his eyes. Her mind was trying to search deep inside of her to find the answer, but it was not comming like she hoped it would, instead she got glimpse of her memory, when she had first met him.

"Ah the father?" The female replied slightly startled by the god's question. "The father is...." Malika hesistated slightly before finishing. "lord Nyekundu." Malika knew there would be some that did not care for her king and hated him with the utmost passion but she felt she could trust the male before her, he did help her that day when they first met.

Closing her violet eyes the lioness listened to his words as he spoke. Love or Deceit? "He did not love me nor did I love him." Perhaps that answered his question? Regardless Malika did not believe it to be deceit but...then again...

No. She couldn't let it worry her now.

The confusion and doubt that clouded her eyes, even if momentarily before she shoved it away, time and time again, was not missed by the god, whom merely arched a brow at first. It was hard to trick a trickster... to deceive The Deceiver, and thus her meek words, and the way she seemed to be fighting with herself was enough of an indication for him to know that she was fighting an internal battle.

He kept silent as she seemed quell the storm within her, if only minimally, however, as she spoke the father's name, the large green lion looked away, ears flattening, "Wonder where the hell my sister is, now that I really need her," the words were said nonchalantly, almost as if Ushaufu were thinking out loud, his gaze finally fixing itself upon her, eyes narrowing, "She's Truth, you know," he left it at that for a few moments, letting his words sink into her mind; he figured such words were enough of an insinuation for her to understand what he meant. Being a tricksters, and one whom lived off of lies, it was hard to try and trap him within someone else's web. In fact, he was more prone to trapping himself in his own web of lies, but alas, that was nor here nor there; fact was, that one like Nyekundu had never been the type to be able to fool the lord of lies himself.

"He did not love me nor did I love him."

Of course, the pale lioness before him was a different story, "I see," he drawled, "Poor little ones; born within a world that'll show them no love; they'll have no family, for their father will not love them, and their mother will be far too busy mourning her past, present and future, I'd wager..." it was not a premonition, by all means, but rather, merely what he thought of the situation. His words had become less and less acidic as time had passed, and by now the god was not even bothering to glare at Malika; it was odd for him to feel pity, or even care for others, but he was tired of trying to hide it, and thus he bothered not doing so - it was plain for her to see upon his features by now.

Letting out a sigh, he closed his own blood red eyes, frowning, deep in though for a moment, "Whatever made you think that was a smart move? Rearing up cubs is no easy business even with a mate," eyes opened then, the red glowing though he was not angry, "It's twice as difficult to do so when there is no mate, and thrice as difficult if you notice there is no hope for those cubs within these lands..." he looked about them, "It's an Oasis, within a desert; a place where it scarcely rains. Think about it Malika," the words were directed at her, indeed, but they tugged at him too, and his mind flew to where he knew a certain female must still be. Would she ever have... even thought about cubs?

Surely not.

Of course not...

And yet the god's ears drooped at the notion, his gaze slowly fixing itself on Malika's "What ever did he tell you anyhow?" he was no longer bothering with the looming, but rather, sitting beside her, almost as if he'd known her all his life. Then again, she was one of few he'd ever stopped to talk to, the others being those he had come to think of as Family, "It was your duty? To a pride that doesn't want or need you? To a lord that doesn't treat you as a mate? What..." a pause before he let out a sigh, frowning at her, "If I ever take a mate... if I ever have the guts to voice my feelings, I will be faithful and loyal to her, forever, as long as I live. There will be no other, and no one to ever try and tell me about duties, or about false love..."

The green male's words confused Malika, her brow furrowing as she listened to what he had to say. Ushaufu brought up his sister, truth. Malika couldn't understand why though. Her head was spinning as she tried to decode the words that he was speaking to her. The male before her was opening her eyes to the truth no matter how much she wanted to ignore it, everything the others had said had always been true, she knew that, but when she first came to the oasis she felt that she had finally found some place that she was happy with. A place that would be her home.

Things had gone well for her since she had first arrived meeting Angamika, the male that made her so happy but then he had left her, disappeared...did that mean that Nyek was never going to return? If that happened then...

No.

She couldn't think of that now. "I know....I shouldn't have done it, especially since there was no love between us but....I just don't know." She wasn't entirely sure why she had done what she had. "He did not force himself upon me..." After that her voice choked off and the green marked lioness was unable to continue for the moment.

As she listened to his words she thought about things, about her choices. "I may regret this, I may not but what has been done is done, there is no changing that. The only thing that I can do is care for the children that will be born into this world and should I find someone who truely cares for me and does not mind the fact I have children with someone other than them...well...." She wasn't sure how to phrase her thoughts correctly. She changed the subject slightly "The female that you have your heart set upon will accept you if you let her know. There is no point in hiding feelings from the one that you truely care about, it will only end in ruin if you do." Again her thoughts flickered to the seer of the pride
PostPosted: Sun Aug 12, 2007 3:52 pm

Of course he didn't force himself upon her, Ushaufu had to refrain himself from sneering in disdain, not at her, but rather at the memory of the king; what need had he to force himself upon her? She'd been deceived and willing, after all. There was no need at all. It was easier to take that what was willingly shoved in front of you.

There was no way for Deception to explain his thoughts to the pale lioness beside him, and thus, instead, he let her think for a while, remaining silent and within his own thoughts. No matter how hard he tried however, they kept on flying back towards the dead, doomed land of the mistweavers, where the one he'd come to truthfully care about lived. Or rather, had lived. He wasn't all too sure she still lived there, "Let me put it this way, girl," he turned his head towards her, his red eyes narrowing, "If I told you to have my children, just because I am a god, and my blood needs to be released upon this world; that it is your duty to me, as a mortal, to have my cubs, would you do it? I am, after all, a God. I am above the lord of this oasis. My word is law," it wasn't, really.

Not really; a god's word was not law. After all, mortals were given the gift of choice, however, it was the only way he could put it so that she would understand that nor was Ushaufu's word law, nor was Nyekundu's word anything other than complete and utter bullshit.

Ushaufu knew bullshit when he saw it; after all, he wasn't deception for nothing, "Would you do it?" he repeated, a growl rumbling within his chest, "Just because I told you so?" he awaited her answer watching her through hooded eyes; he did not tear his gaze from her, but rather remain silent, patient. As she spoke again however, the god recoiled, almost as if physically struck; it was almost comical, his ears flattening, his gaze diverting away from her, "It's a bit more difficult than that, really; my story is not as simple as that. Other factors come to play in it, however her answer will not be yes. I'm sure of it; that aside, even if it were a yes, it would not make her happy," a pause, "My situation aside, answer my question. Would you?" his words came in a snarl suddenly and he threw himself forward, forcing the bulk of his body over her, looming over her.

He remain unmoving, looming over her, teeth bared, "Would you? Even if I were to tell you it's your duty, knowing that I do not love you, and you love someone else? Would you do it, knowing you're betraying the feelings to keep for that others, whomever, and where ever he may be?" the idea of it angered him somewhat, however, the god wasn't angry at Malika; he merely wished to push his point into her mind. There were no riddles there, and no words meant to cause confusion; he was baring the truth behind the deception. Something he had not done for anyone other than Kizuka.

Idly he wondered if he'd gone insane. Perhaps he had, "Would you, Malika?" his words were repeated again, this time softly breathed, a whisper as he remain over her form, looking down into her eyes.

The lioness's ears flattened against her head when he started to speak rather harshly to her. She took a step backward, away from him. She swallowed dryly when he kept pushing her for answer. She took another step backwards and fumbled falling onto her rear.

"I..I..." Malika stammered trying to form sentence, trying to say even a full word. The pressure that Usuhaufu was putting upon her to answer was making things difficult for the pale lioness to answer. She flinched when he moved closer and she looked up at his looming form. "N...no..."

She finally managed to spit out rather shakily. "No...but...it's different." She said softly. "Y...you m-may not believe me...but it is..." She told him looking away. She couldn't stand to stare at those red eyes. They bothered her.

She then changed the subject slightly, knowing that it would go back to the previous subject quickly. "Never count yourself out."She told him glancing back once before looking away again. "You'll never know until you take a chance. You should quickly....before you lose your chance." She told him in a sad tone. Malika hadn't told the one she loved that she did and she lost him, she didn't know where he was or what had happened to him, he had just vanished. "You'll never know until you try..." She repeated softly.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 13, 2007 10:33 am

A sneer marred his maw at that point, almost disgusted, "You are avoiding the subject at hand; you're not answering my question," he turned away from her then stepping out from over her, giving her vital space once more as he looked over his shoulder, "Think about it, girl, it's no different, that I asked you than what you claimed; it bares no difference, and until you learn to accept, dare I say it," he rolled his eyes, wincing for a moment, "The bloody truth, you're going to be miserable all your life, do you understand?"

Padding in a straight line, he turned right, and then turned left, walking restlessly the same few paces, back and forth, the mane that ran over his shoulders and back, bristled before he turned to face her. There was a pause, and suddenly, the god sat down, pondering. It took him only a few seconds before he chuckled under his breath, then his head was tossed back, and laughter rung throughout the Oasis, "You're in Denial!!" the idea was so amusing that it brought a smirk to his maw, "You're in god damned denial, girl. This isn't even my realm any more; you were deceived and you are in complete denial about it," he knew what he was talking about too; oh yes.

He'd spent the past few months in denial himself, not for the same reasons, but still. He recognised the hints, "Let me tell you this, Malika; what you did was wrong, but it was not your fault. You were fooled," he waved a paw dismissingly at this point, "Fool you once, shame on me, fool you twice, shame on you; it's the way you're going about accepting this that is worse. Accept things for what they are. Unless you wish you live in my realm for ever; deception is no place for you, girl," the last words were whispered at her, his teeth baring as he stood again.

If there was something he'd gotten out of this small meeting however, it was the courage he'd needed to take a step in the right direction again, "I will not be like you, girl. I will chose the right path, for once," he sneered at her then, looking over his shoulder as he began to walk away, "Think about it, and think about those cubs you will give birth to; will you stay with them? Will you be able to look at them and not go mad?" Ushaufu then turned away from her and padded into the darkness, calling after her, "You shan't, unless you accept the past for what it is, and those around you for what they are."

A pang of pain hit him as he walked away from the pale lioness, however, there was nothing more the god could offer her whilst she denied the truth with all her soul. Maybe his siblings would find her, and talk to her, or maybe they wouldn't. Either way, he had things to do, "Take care..." those last words were not shouted at her, but rather, whispered into the breeze before he spread his wings and plunged up into the darkened sky.

Malika was rendered speechless by his words and actions. She didn't know what to say in reply to him. All the pale lioness could do was watch him. Watch him walk away in what seemed to be disgust, at least to her. She swallowed dryly and blinked twice when he whispered at her.

'Take Care'

Did he mean that?

And why did he care so much about her? She didn't even really know him. She only remember bits and pieces of her time spent in the jungle where she must have met him...And no one else seemed to care about her enough to shove their opinion upon her.

It slightly hurt to recall the words he yelled at her and how viciously he tried to shove his words and opinion on her. He must have had a reason. Must have.

Shaking her head she turned and walked away slowly, her head spinning from everything. She was just so confused now.
