It was a cool day, the sun being warm enough that the weather was chilly, but not cold. Warm enough that Haki lay in the sun, dozing without skin cancer worries underneath a large white umbrella embedded deeply into the grass. She was like that, sometimes. Sleeping in knowledge with the full, secure knowledge that no one would bother her.

Because one day she planned to rule the world, of course.

With a blanket spread across the grass and only the mild noises from the outside world to disturb her sleep, Haki was blissfully happy. This was life. Sleeping underneath the shade of an umbrella and dreaming about a world where everyone would call her your majesty.

Yeah. That was the life.

Elisa frowned slightly when Ivan ushered the toddler outside. Who did this icky buffoon think he was? First, he decided to board with she and her new mommy, but now he was giving her orders? The nerve. Wait until Evie finds out this. She won't be too happy that Ivan made her go outside unaccompanied. Yes...Tonight was going to be fun. Elisa could barely contain her excitement.

It was nice day though just not as fun as it usually was. The times Evie would take Elisa for a walk would be accompanied with rants and raves from the two elder persons, seeing as Ivan was a lost puppy and followed his twin and Elisa around everywhere. It was pretty sad but fun too since Elisa planned to wrap him around her little finger.

Toddling about the compound, Elisa found herself coming across a rather lovely girl about her age lazing about. Since Evie stressed that making friends is always a good thing, Elisa toddled herself over and carefully plopped herself down so not to mess up her dress.

"Helwo!" Elisa chirped happily. If was making a friend, she was glad she was pretty.

Haki looked over, startled. Look, she had never seen this one around before! A purple wolf girl yes, and Gavin. But anyone else her age? Hmmm... did her advisor count? Ismet didn't. No. He knew too much to be considered 'her age'.

"Hi." she stared, curious. She had such pretty hair, and her eyes too! Petting her own skirt out of caution, she nodded her head. "I Haki."

Well. That was a start. Blatantly staring and waiting for an introduction too, (where had she come from? Were there more like her? And look... Haki had a feeling she was a 'girl'. Whatever that really was) she inched closer, trying not to look too suspicious.

ANOTHER SMALL ONE!

Michael had insisted she take a walk when she started feeling light-headed from the paint fumes in her child's room. He had forced her out the door, then gone back to getting everything set up. So now she was wandering the grounds with a giddy smile on her face.

Things were going well! No drama, no nothing. Just happiness.

...

But wait!

She spotted a little umbrella and two little figures. Inching closer, she recognized Haki. But who was the other girl?

And where were the other guardians?

Maternal instinct taking over, she headed over, trying to look unconcerned, even though she was deeply worried. Marc leaving his little girl alone?

"Why, hello there, Haki!" she chimed in, probably interrupting the conversation. "What are you and your friend doing outside all alone?"

Pointing at herself with a pudgy index finger, Elisa was about to introduce herself when someone else rudely interrupted. The woman they were interrupted by looked to be around the age of her own caretaker. Old. Maybe she too was a mommy to someone like her, but that didn't matter. She was interrupting the fun with Haki.

Staring straight up at the Natalie, Elisa's face showed exactly how she was feeling. A pout plastered on her face, the small girl crossed her arms and turned her gaze over to Haki. Maybe she felt the same?

Though Haki has know this woman since the woman knew Haki’s name...Maybe she was Haki's mommy? Still...it was very rude to interrupt.

Distracted, Haki looked over and beamed. The woman who had made her the fanciful queen of hearts costume! Oh, and the rootbeer addiction too. Turning to Elisa with a slight tilt of her head, she paused. Friend?

Well. Haki LIKED pretty people. And this girl seemed useful. It wasn't every day she meant young ones. "Friend?" she queried, waiting for an answer. Although it would help if she knew the 'friends' name.

"Friend, Na'lie. Na'lie, friend!" proud that the introductions was doing smoothly, she inched closer to the redhead. Uh huh. Natalie wasn't winning this one over so quickly! Haki had to make her mark _first_. Before anyone else with costume designing rootbeer float making skills could have a try.

Yep.

As to what they were doing alone... she paused. "Playing?"

Natalie was taken aback by the pout, and she tugged on the curl anxiously. But then Haki started talking, so she focused on the little blonde girl. Smile and nod, smile and nod.

Friend was such a good name, wasn't it?

"But by yourself? Where's your dad?" She sat down on the grass next to their blanket, then waved to the redhead.

"I'm Natalie. What's your name, Miss Haki's friend?"

The attention turned back on her, Elisa pointed at herself and exclaimed rather loudly, "Elisa!" It was almost like she thought the two were deaf or something since her voice could be heard ringing throughout the compound. That or she just liked the sound of her voice and wanted to be heard. Though, the latter was more likely seeing as Elisa normally wouldn't shut up at home. Perhaps that's why Ivan decided that Elisa should take herself out on a walk.

What a responsible uncle...

Turning to face Haki, a grin spread across her face. "Haki, play!" Elisa chimed happily, inching closer to the blond as well. This Natalie won't play with Haki before her!

Haki let out a little squeal of happiness. This girl was colorful and a girl and she wanted to play too! Unused to situations like this (but deciding that it was the second best thing in the entire world), she petted Elisa's hair.

Elisa was a nice name. It was easy to remember. And it didn't clash with Haki's.

Yes, she wanted to play! But with what?

"Play what, 'lisa?" she queried.

Natalie watched the two girls awkwardly, without a word. She shouldn't interrupt their bonding, she knew, but she also shouldn't leave them alone. If she'd had Marc's number, maybe she would have called him. As it was...

Ring... ring...

"Michael? I ran into two of the girls... going to watch them for a bit. I'll be back later."

Click. There, business taken care of.

Settling back on the grass, she watched the two girls.

Hearing an odd ringing noise, Elisa gazed up at Natalie to see her talking on a device that she usually saw Evie angrily yelling into. Most of the time it was with Grand Mama who wanted to discuss the "Ivan situation". Evie wanted Ivan out of her house, but Grand Mama thought it would be best if he was in a "stable environment", which would cause more arguing. Elisa would scold Ivan for being a bad boy the whole time this conversation occurred.

Though, this "tellyphone" was funny. How many people were really in them? Seriously. There were so many different voices in it. How did they get in there? Stuffed in, but Elisa couldn’t help but wonder how they got Grand Mama in the tellyphone. She was really fat...

Regardless, Elisa turned her attention back at her playmate. "We pway...tellyphone?" She asked in regards to Haki's inquiry.

Play tellyphone? How did you go about doing that? Scratching her head as she wondered if it was like playing Hero, she looked over at Natalie. Daddy had one of those too... and he seemed to like it well enough. Maybe it was something only grown ups were allowed to play with.

Huh. That wasn't fair.

"Na'lie?" the woman had one. And they didn't. Hence, they had to ask her.

"Borrow tellyphone?"

Natalie was shaking her head while Elisa suggested the game, thinking something along the lines of Oh no, what have I done...

The only difference when Haki asked her for her phone was to voice it out loud.

Looking down at the phone, she bit her lip, then turned it off. Sneakily, she took out the battery and set it on the ground beside her, then handed the dead phone to Haki. There. No random dialing on her watch! Besides, she really didn't need her minutes going down the drain.

Clapping her hands happily, Elisa was ecstatic. Now she and Haki had a tellyphone of their very own! How exciting. Now perhaps she could find out how they got those people in there...but how would they go about doing that?

"Haki," the toddler started as she inched closer, "Elisa see tellyphone too?" She craned her neck slightly to observe the telephone, scrutinizing its every angle.

There had to a way grown ups got people in there...

Haki offered it to Elisa, holding it out so that the buttons faced the other girl. It was a strange thing... she wasn't quite sure how it worked, but she was sure it worked the same way as the magical TV and videos. Mmmm. Videos. Like, the disney ones with princesses and castles.

"Here."

She knew that you could talk to people. She'd done it herself! Marc would dial and she'd wish happy birthday, or something. But she wasn't QUITE sure how to get it to work in the first place.

Maybe this Elisa knew the secret of phonage?
