Gluttony looked to the stars with a sadness gleaming in his bright red eyes. The sliver of a moon did little to shine a light across the landscape. "This is like us," Gluttony snorted towards the small figure that was approaching his grassy hilltop, "We are the darkness, without light. We are cold darkness, are we not?"

The calf approached the small knoll where the gluttinous one stood, finding himself not wanting to be alone right now. Not tonight, when the darkness crept into his heart so, made his soul weep. Only another of his kind could hope to understand. He nodded towards the stag, hearing his words. "Darkness? Perhaps. I had thought of darkness before. But no, we are not darkness, we have transcended even that, into depths of consciencesness that no mortal could grasp into words. For in order for darkness, there must be a light for which to compare. For us, that light does not exist, our life, the candle, was snuffed out. Our existence is empty, blackness, a void from whence we cannot escape. Pitiful, is it not?"
With that he also gave a glance into the sky, the shimmer of the faint starlight burning his eyes. He looked downward once again. Something so beautiful...should not be gazed upon by a creature such as himself. He snorted softly, the crisp air seemed to send a chill through him. Though he knew that oculd not be. He had ceased feeling long ago.

Gluttony could not help himself but to laugh. "That is true. No matter how much we wish, we will never join the herd of the Firebringer again, nor can we join Herne's herd up with the stars," the stag replied. His stomach growled loudly in the chrisp night. "We are parasites to this earth. You cause others to want what another has just by staring deep into their eyes, the true window of one's soul. And I, I snuff the life out of others with the snap of my always hungry jaws. Are those what I think they are?" Gluttony moved towards the calf and licked one of Envy's cheeks tasting the tears of blood the had begun to form.

Envy jerked his head away in disgust as the other deer licked the blood from his cheeks. "Indeed they are but the blood is my own, not available for consumption I'll have you know." He relaxed a little once his head was out of direct line to Gluttony's jaws. "But it is true. I have wondered once, if there were some way I could live again? Or...no...not live again, for that perhaps would be asking to much. Even just to die would be a relief. When I see all of them out there, happily playing amongst themselves, and then I look at is, unholy, sulking about in the foulest places of the earth. It makes me feel sick. There is a feeling, something which I cannot name that grows inside of me. Though it is a part of me always, I am still concious for the most part. However I fear that it may one day consume me, as the feeling has done to Wrath." He snorted softly, looking out into the barren landscape in which they made their home. "And yet," he said, turning back to Gluttony. "I do not think I fear it. It may indeed come as something of a relief in the end...a release from this thoughtless suffering.

Gluttony moved away. "I just wish there could be peace for us. I stalk the Firebringer herd and memories stirr withen me. They hurt worse than the sharp pain of hunger," Gluttony sighed bowing his head. He laid in the grass staring back at the sky. "How I wish it would rain."
