What is a Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo?

Goodfellow's tree kangaroo, a marsupial which weighs about 7 kg (about 15 lb), is found in mountainous rain forests. It shelters in small groups in trees during the day and spends much of its life there, but it also frequently descends to the ground. Its diet consists mainly of leaves and fruit, obtained either in trees or on the ground.

In 1983 Goodfellow's tree kangaroo occurred in central and eastern New Guinea. By 1987 it was reportedly still widespread, but it was apparently increasingly coming under pressure from hunting in the Central Highlands of New Guinea, and had declined markedly in many areas. In 1992 it was reported to occur from the border of central Irian Jaya (Indonesia) and Papua New Guinea through central and eastern Papua New Guinea.

The main threat to Goodfellow's tree kangaroo is due to overhunting.

[x] Goodfellow's tree kangaroo appears to be extremely vulnerable to overhunting - it seems to be quickly extirpated from areas where there has been chronic hunting, even by remarkably small human populations.

[x] It is very agile in trees and often travels rapidly from tree to tree, leaping as much as 9 m (30') downward to an adjoining tree.

Weight:
An adult female weighed 7.7 kg (17 lb) and an adult male weighed 6.7 kg (14.7 lb).

Habitat:
Tree kangaroos dwell mainly in mountainous rain forests up to 3000 m (9800').

Goodfellow's tree kangaroo occurs in the New Guinea Lowland Forests Global 200 Ecoregion. (Olson & Dinerstein 1998, Olson & Dinerstein 1999)

Approximately 32 days.

Birth Season:
Goodfellow's tree kangaroo probably has no well-defined breeding season.

Birth Rate:
Usually 1 young is born at a time.

Maximum Age:
14 years, in captivity.

Diet:
Leaves and fruit.

Social Organization:
They shelter in small groups in trees during the day.

Name: Freize. Plain and simple.

DOB: October 31, year unknown

Race: Weremutt (A mixture of basically every species)

Likes: Pocky, eating, sleeping, lounging, reading, being lazy, being alone, Arafel, his family and pets, children, being understood, helping out, being passive.

Dislikes: Violence, chaos, death, pain, feeling threatened... A lot more stuff.

Personality: Calm, polite, gentle, warm, has a cursing problem, introverted, quiet, intellectual, wise, compassionate, sympathetic, cuddly towards Arafel and his children/pets, cheerful with kids.

Bio: He was born literally hundreds of years ago- and just the simple act of being born was a sin then. His mother was a human from a rich family and his father a mutt, and it was considered wrong for them to be together. After four years both of them were killed, and the young boy was sent to live with his Grandmother. All other beings kept their distance from him- not only was he of 'dirty blood', but his father's side of the family held a great curse that very little is known about (the mark on his arm is proof of the magic that is today keeping the curse from plaguing him.) Because of that, he was always considered dangerous, and often had to dodge many attacks from thousands of people who didn't even know him. He was mistreated and forced into something one might today consider slave labor by his Grandmother. When he was in his early teens, some sort of unknown event happened and the entire village was left destroyed and all citizens- including his Grandmother- were found dead later by passerbys. Freize was the only one left alive, and he fled.

The majority of his life since then is unknown to all but him- with the exception of the time where he met his significant other, Arafel. Both were outcasts and constantly threatened- Arafel because she was a halfbreed- and the normally hated girl found herself accepted by the naturally gentle and easy-going Freize after a fishing incident, and the two rarely were seen apart since. There are some signs that he once worked for Gambino's family when Gambino was still just a child.

Teagan's his buddy. He adores and looks up to the older boy, and believes he can always rely on him for fun and games. He was the first Eden that Eva met. They both love dried mango, too.

Eva really likes Karoko, although she doesn't like coloring. She was really nice, and clapped when he showed her how well he could climb and jump. He didn't get a lot of time with her, though, and hopes they can play again.

Eva loves playing with Belinda, because she has lots of energy- not as much as him, but lots! They played at the park together, and she said he was a good jumper. She's a little rough, but Eva doesn't mind. She's still fun.

Eva only got to see her for a little bit, but she seemed really neat and was very friendly. He loves her flutterboo, too, and hopes to see more of her later. She seems kinda fun!

Eva literally owes this octopus lad his life. He fell into a pool in the aquarium and couldn't swim, so Sylvest came to the rescue. He likes Sylvest.

Eva really likes Tyyne, because she's nice to him and really gentle. He doesn't know too much about her, but he likes her nonetheless, especially after she went to eat with him and Teagan.
