~ someone with permission from us
~ dropping off a gift (in which case it should only be one post)

2. Please do not ask to buy our child.
S/he is not for sale. Go stalk the GMFC thread.

3. Please do not ask to buy or have first dibs on our child's offspring.
a) We have no idea when s/he'll grow up, or b) if s/he'll be successful in courting a mate. Besides, we're not about to be bought off. We don't know what we'll be doing with any possible future offspring. We'll decide if and when it happens.

4. Please do not ask us if/when babies are available.
We have no clue. Go stalk the GMFC thread.

5. Please do not continually PM us about any of the above, or playdates, etc.
Our inboxes are rather full from other things. If you really want to ask about visiting, etc. please try and catch us in the GMFC thread before PMing me.

Name: True name long since forgotten, goes by Naita.

Age: Exact age unknown. Roughly early-mid twenties.

Sex: Female

Birthdate: Once more, lost.

Marital status: Engaged.

Loves: Sable, vodka, BBQ sauce, her Feli squad, small shiny things, the open sea, lychees.

Hates: Confinement, loss of freedom, deep fried seafood of any kind.

Fears: Sock puppets.

Peronality: Hehe, coming soon.

History: Naita, as she is now known, grew up with her mother and three brothers in the Catalan village, Marseilles, southern France. Early in her life she developed a keen interest in the sea, and expressed a wish to sail. Obviously, it was not the done thing for women to become sailors, and so at the age of twelve, the cheeky child stowed away on the next ship to leave port, a tiny vessel named the "Ailing Albatross." And the name was the least of it's problems.

Having dressed herself in her youngest brother's clothing, Naita pleaded for a job once found. In return for bread and water, she promised she would be a cabin boy, and hoped to learn the trade.
The captain, a rather frugal old boy, agreed to this, and such a career on the high seas seemed imminent! And perhaps that career would have been successful, had Naita an ounce of talent for sailing, but alas, she was hopeless. She did, however, show a great knack for sewing the sails, and this kept her fed and housed.

One fine day, whilst sailing in territories unknown, (though territories unknown to Naita were generally anything more than a metre from her person) the cabin "boy" came by rather a bad accident. Namely, she stood in the way of the mast, and received her reward full to the back of the head.
As you can imagine, the skull of a human versus the mast of a ship is a rather easy battle to predict the outcome of, and the girl hit the water with an almighty splash.
She washed up, some time later, cold and bedraggled, on the shore of Port Gino. There she spent several hours comatose on the sand.
Incidently, the crew of the Ailing Albatross henceforth went bankrupt due to the cost of a new mainsail.

As the hours ticked by, the usual parade of people made their way by the passed out teen, a few stopping to gawk, one over-zealous young child poking her with a stick, and none helping.
At length, a pale woman in a red velveteen gown drew to a halt, eyeing the damp figure with a mixture of curiosity and dread.
Shaking the girl by her shoulders, the well dressed young lady called out to her a few times, recognising by the rise and fall of the chest that the child before her was in fact alive.
"My dear, are you alright?" she called, as the fluttering eyelashes and muffled groans announced her patient's success in being brought round.

"Where am I?" came the voice of the lost little sailor, quickly followed by, "Who the hell are you?"
To this exceedingly tactful greeting, the lady simply smiled politely and nodded. "I am Lady Naita Siri, and yourself?"
Quickly realising she had no answer for this, the sailor's silence spoke for her loss of memory, and with a sympathetic nature, Lady Siri had little choice but to take the girl in.

Before long, the girl's talent for sewing was noted, and she was hired as a dressmaker for the household, with a decent wage, free food, and board. All in all, it was a good life, until her craving for something unknown led her to count her wages, and venture into the world. This was not to say that she was ungrateful, however. Spending a portion of her savings on a brilliant red swathe of silk, the former sailor created one last, magnificent gown for the lady of the house before resigning.
As a final mark of respect, she took on the name Naita, that any success she may achieve should always be connected to her kind rescuer.

Many adventures marked her departure from Port Gino, and amongst her travels were the countries of England, where the Larrenby's intruded upon her notice (quite literally, Lydia walked in on her in the bathroom), France (though not, alas, to Marseilles, where her true identity could have been restored), where it is thought her fear of sock puppets was cultivated, and Australia. After wandering over many a continent, she longed for the comforts of a home of her own, and settled upon Gaia, as close to Port Gino as possible.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Name: Divinity Saturne Millner, goes by DS..

Age: Seems to be about 19.

Sex: Female

Birthdate: February 29th.

Marital status: Single.

Loves: Cooking, tea, flowers, reading, family, taking care of people, most things oriental.

Hates: Abandonment, loud noises, papercuts, deep water, neon pink, most kinds of magic.

Fears: Alcohol and Pirates of Penzance.

Peronality: DS is, simply put, a nut. She spends half her time in the kitchen, making all sorts of baked goods, and the other half spazzing over anything that happens. She's usually pretty calm, however that's a front, and inside she's a bundle of nerves just waiting to explode. Somehow she manages to keep her houses (yes, she has a few) in order, and does the same with her wards, though the effort is exhausting. Still, she's usually cheery, at least on the outside.

History: DS was the middle child of a fisherman and a daughter of a merchant. Her father was once noble, yet he was shunned by his people for marrying a commoner, and took to the seas. They lived peacefully and had three children, two boys and a girl, who they raised on their small fishing ship, the True Treasure, named in honor of their love for eachother. Although they rarely had much money, food was abundant (fish), and no one would harm them. The three children, Letiniya, Devika, and Silian, all got along splendidly and were sweet, intelligent, and hard working kids. In short, they were a picture-perfect family.

That is, until they were attacked by a group of savage and extremely drunk pirates who took the name of their ship a little too literally. In their stupor they captured and killed both the children's father, and the youngest son. The women they had planned on keeping, but out of love for her daughters, their mother threw them into the lifeboat. She was slain in the process, but the two girls escaped.

Their mother had no family, and most of their father's family turned their backs on the girls, blaming them for both their father's disappearance from their world, and his death. But his sister Mischa took them in, as the only living memory of her dead brother. Even though she had three children of her own, she opened both her home and her heart to them, and to hopefully free them from their sorrow, renamed them. The elder was named Litany, for her gift of gab, and the younger Divinity, for her silent devotion to her studies.

Litany, Divinity, Raven, Glen, and Selance. The three children of the enchantress Mischa, and the two children of the deceased summoner Galen, of the branch Saturne family. Each with their own power hiding within them. All the best of friends. But fate would intervene yet again, and this time, no one would be left unmarked by its cruelty.

The date was June 22nd, six years to the day the crew of the True Treasure met its demise. Mischa was watching the children play, and her heart filled with pride. Selance, the oldest at eighteen, had already mastered advanced sorcery, and had the attention of every girl in the town to boot. Glen and Raven, both fifteen, were the tops of their respective classes (boy's and girl's class of the local school), and together were nearly a match for Selance. And her nieces were just as marvelous. Litany, also fifteen, was a flourishing singer and brilliant debater. Divinity was only twelve, and had yet to make a name for herself, but her sweetness was what kept the family going.

Mischa Millner admired her children, and left.

Several hours later, her world fell apart.

It is still uncertain what happened. Perhaps the children attempted something beyond their ability. Perhaps an experiment Mischa had going spun out of control. All that is known is that when the lady of the house returned that evening, all she could see was loss.

A decade. A body. A will. A chunk of soul. A life. Gone.

Even though Litany's body was never found, she was given a funeral along with Selance, her coffin empty save for a single rose placed inside by her sister. Glen attended, pushed in a wheelchair by his now twenty-five year old sister, his eyes once admired blue eyes now horrifically vacant. Divinity attended as well, with a fancy black hat placed atop her new furry ears. Mischa took the children to the funeral, and eyes dry, took them home.

Two hours later, she was dead in her bathtub, a letter opener that had been a Mother's Day gift from her children plunged in her throat.

Divinity, Raven, and Glen were homeless. It was thought no one would take them in, not with their supposed curse. But that was all that Olivia Saturne needed to hear. Supposedly one of the grand matriarchal figures of the family, she took them all in, and vowed to use her skills to aid her new wards.

Yet after four years of failure, Divinity was discouraged. Her eccentric aunt had labored for years fruitlessly. Raven was beginning to despair, and let a hatred for her once beloved cousin fester. She blamed the younger girl for the death of her brother and mother, the incapacitation of her twin, and the loss of ten years of her own life, which was looking all the more meaningless. While she seemed unmarked by the incident. This hatred boiled within the now-woman, and one summer day, she finally took action, requesting that Divinity leave. If not, Raven warned, she would never have another chance to leave the house again.

Divinity sensed the vengeance in her cousin's eyes and fled, to another house of her aunt's, where she lived peacefully for a year. But she was discovered there as well. It was then that she moved to Gaia, finally able to sustain herself at the age of eighteen.

Her early life on Gaia is still a mystery, even to her. All she can remember is that she was forced to work at a bar to make wages. After a few months she moved, then moved again. That would be the last time, as she finally had what she wanted- a child. Family that couldn't leave or betray her. Family that she would die to protect. And most importantly, family that was not of her blood.

Her family has grown, but her feelings are still the same. But now that one of her blood is to be born, she must face the demons of her past...

DS has broken off communication with most of her biological family, save for an aunt and two cousins. The rest she hasn't seen in years, for one reason or another, and for the most part doesn't care to.

Aunt Olivia is something of a mythical figure in the Saturne household. She hasn't been seen yet, but she has written to DS regarding strange goings-on. Supposedly she is the one who set DS up with her houses (the one now in Port Gino and Vi'domi), as well as her bookstore. A sorceress, she is extremely powerful, but also very absent-minded, not the best combination. She tends to dote over her family, including DS, but their relationship is distant at best.

DS hasn't seen Raven or Glen in years, but they have both come up in conversation recently, and have been mentioned in letters between DS and Olivia. They are both her cousins, whom she lived with when she was younger. Their relationship has been strained for several years, so they tend to keep their distance.

User Image
Kiyu has been with DS for years, ever since she was a child, and acts mostly as an aid. She manages most things at DS's other house, Vi'domi, which houses stray creatures she picks up during her travels (and some her aunt finds as well). She is usually at Vi'domi, but travels to DS's other home on Gaia whenever she needs some extra help. These two seem quite close.

User Image
Lionel Christian Elijah Henry Anders Winchester, Earl of Keburry, found himself mysteriously in DS's bed on Christmas Day. He seems to have come from the past, baffled by everything from television to toilets. Almost a child himself (and certainly as spoiled as one in many ways), he needs nearly as much looking after as any of DS's wards, though she hopes this will change once he catches up on some history. She's locked him in the attic for now. Lionel's speech, actions, and writings will be in
dark blue.

User Image
Eriol is the oldest of DS's wards, physically at least, and in spite of her not wanting to play favorites, the one she is closest to. He loves adventure, and while he is content to read about it, would much prefer living his own. Whenever he can he heads out to the Gaia Jedi Academy to watch the Jedi train, but is usually roped into babysitting duty. Though he doesn't always act it, he likes most of his family, even if he thinks it's too big and sometimes gets lonely. Eriol's speech, actions, and writing will be in
green.

User Image
Yeine technically isn't a ward, more like a boarder; she is staying with the Saturne family while training at the Gaia Jedi Academy. She is intensely shy and usually keeps to herself when at home, though she is somewhat more social with fellow apprentices. She hates being touched by others and will lash out at any who approach uninvitied, but other than that it is difficult to get the gentle Cathar angry. Still, her gentleness hides a quick mind and an agile body, both of which are being trained so that she may become one of the galaxy's finest. Yeine will be using
magenta.

User Image
Karan is one of the newer additions the the household, and currently the youngest. He showed up on the doorstep one day, and having no other ideas, took the boy in. He is usually fairly nice, social, and cheery, but can change moods at the drop of a hat. He also seems to be nocturnal, much to DS's despair. Not much else is known about him, or the moon and sun emblems he bears. Karan's actions, etc will be in
gray.

User Image
Xue came to DS's house under nearly as strange circumstances as Karan. However, instea of her adopting him, he adopted her, and wouldn't let her leave without him. Xue is a Porcelain, a race of beings who, while similar to humans, are smaller, built differently, and speak mostly through mindspeech, a fluid, empathic form of communication. Nearly always happy, he adores the company of others and will try to recruit anyone and everyone into a game. Xue will be using
light green.

User Image
Ying came from a stone DS picked up during one of her more recent travels and sent home to her godson Eriol. One of the Jumi, a race born from mysterious cores which reside in their chests until death and are key to preserving their life, Ying is a little skittish around unknowns. Rather than hide however, this courageous girl will look strangers in the eye and not back down. Thus, she is usually a good judge of character, and likes nothing more than helping others when she can. Ying speaks and writes in
dark pink.

User Image
Melete is an exchange student from Neilan, a planet whose race is similar to humans, but highly empathic. Sent to Gaia against her wishes by her older brother, Mel is highly distrustful of most people she meets, and tends to avoid anything Gaian whenever possible. Melete's writings will be in
orange red.

User Image
A strange eggu began hanging around the house, and was taken in by some of DS's older wards, now being hidden in the attic. It's very energetic, hates being alone, and is rumored to contain a mytical creature called a Tsubasa inside. The kids dubbed it Quyen after doing some research. Qu uses
periwinkle.

User Image
Linnea is DS's oldest ward in terms of age, and another terribly shy one. Her fins make her very self-conscious, and they will start to tremble if she is feeling emotionally charged. She prefers staying in her room with her dolls to playing with other children. Born of a mysterious flower, she has an unusual connection with water that unsettles everyone, especially herself. Her speech and actions are in
blue.

Right, New Years, so I was round at the club, waiting for Sable and our usual celebratory... celebration. Yes.
Anyway, got stuck into the vodka and limes early, as usual, and did a few rounds of shots with Riife. Surprisingly good guy to party with, that boy. Anyway, so I'm starting to feel nicely toasted when I spot this piece down the bar. Had a tail, so, rightly, I'm intrigued.
Now, when I say she was a fox, I'm talking literally here. Ears to match the tail, nice and fuzzy.

OK, so we're chatting, and drinking, and drinking, and drinking, and she starts going on about a headache, or back pains, or an ingrown toenail or something. I wasn't really listening, some guy in a nurse' costume had started dancing on the bar, and I was trying to figure out where his underpants had gone. (Funny story, turns out it was a friend of Riife's, and that his wife had stolen them in an attempt to stop him drinking. Hadn't worked.)
So I says, "I think I know where you can get some aspirin," I says, thinking about this place down the road that has all sorts of gizmos, don't know why I thought they had pills. Oh well.

I also wanted to head there because I've always wondered what agar jelly would taste like. Bla bla bla scientific uses, it SAYS jelly!
Me and Divvy, the fox, headed out, and she starts talking about all sorts of random crap. Kids, and musicals that are "evil," lordy, I've never heard anyone talk that much! Doesn't know how to hold her liquor, that chick.
OK, we got there, and she was complaining that it wasn't open, so we pulled a Romeo and headed up the drainpipe.
Wait... was it Romeo that shimmied up the drainpipe, waffling about sunshine? Ah well.

Divvy breaks this window open, and we climbed in, and started looking around. She was whining on about pills, or lack thereof, and meanwhile there was no agar jelly. What kind of place was this? I found millions of these sample pottles in some freezer, but no jelly! Shocking.
Well, we might not have found what we wanted, but there were some damned cool gizmos that looked to be pretty cool, so we set about playing with 'em. I seem to remember Divvy talking about pricking her finger, and doing ungodly things with a test tube, but it's all pretty hazy.
I do remember her saying that one machine made her dizzy to watch it, but she keep staring at it. And she kept going on about wanting to try something. Did I mention that this girl is nuts while drunk?

She kept swigging this cheap wine, and I didn't want to be rude, so I had a fair bit, too, you know, manners and all that. More haziness, vague recollections of breaking some vials, and messing with some machine that kept bouncing up and down and filling things. Fun places, science labs!

We were messing with some more vials, uses them as drinking glasses, when the sound of someone about got us both pretty flustered. We had to run around picking up our clothes (when did I buy a pink bra?) and finding some place to hide. She opened up this cupboard door, and started scooting in, telling me to follow. Now, it was packed in there, lemme tell you. Absolutely bloody compactor sized. But it did have a faint smell of something I used to drink, back in the day.

Obviously something set us off, because the next thing I knew birds were singing, the floor was cold, we were out, and these dudes in white coats were eyeballing us like white mice.
Divvy starts shooting off random crap, and these guys are cool as cabbage, firing off these come backs. One of 'em looked quite fun, should've grabbed his number. Anyway, she grabs me and runs, didn't even give me time to give the lab guy a quick line or two.
She gave me her number, mumbled something about clothes, and was off like a shot.

I've spent worse evenings.

New Year's is supposed to be fun, right? Someone had better remind fate of that.

Someone had sent Yeine a New Year's gift of some wine, and apple cider. I figured I'd let her try the wine, so I could steal the cider to take with me to Devil's Heaven. Honestly, I don't know why I decided to go to that place. I hadn't been there in more than a year, and there are few memories of my time there that I like. Maybe I was feeling nostalgic since the year was ending. Whatever. I went.

Thing is, the nutcase who sent Yeine the drinks labeled the the same. So I grabbed the wrong bottle. Got to DH, sat down at the bar, and started to get myself drunk.

What? Don't tell me you could tell the difference between wine and cider on New Year's surrounded by drunken idiots. Just try it. And stop laughing!

Anyway, I ended up one barstool down from this lady, Nai. So we got to talking. And I got a splitting headache. Course, I didn't connect it with the drinks. I thought it was the noise or something. But she said something about a lab, and... petroleum jelly? I guessed she meant a pharmacy. And I figured I could use some aspirin for my headache. So we left.

It's one of the first lessons we learn as kids- don't talk to strangers. And I know, I should've known better, considering what Devil's Heaven is like. The name alone should have tipped me off. But I figured no harm could come from one night. And Nai seemed like a decent drunk, instead of someone who... gah. Not gonna finish that thought. Moving on...

The place was closed. But Nai said that they kept things upstairs. So we went upstairs. Via the drainpipe.

Note to self- Next time I plan on shimmying up a pipe, I need to leave my sandals on the ground. Climbing in geta = HARD.

But yeah. Nai broke a window, and we were in. I was kinda surprised that they didn't have an alarm, but I guessed it wasn't a big corporation or anything. I mean, what kind of nutcases would leave their windows unalarmed? Then again, what kind of nutcase would climb a drainpipe and smash a window? I guess that should've tipped me off, but no.

We didn't find jelly OR aspirin, but we did find some other stuff, which we started futzing with. A bit. I passed out at one point, probably from all the alcohol. I'm surprised I actually woke up, but I did. Nai was still awake, and she had found some weird gadgets. Some kind of scientific stuff. I know one of them made me bleed, and it prickled my skin. And another one had something that looked like a mini blender. And... well, yeah. It was all kind of creepy, but she insisted she wanted to try something.

I still had the bottle with me, and kept on drinking from it. Drunk people don't feel like they're drunk. At least, I don't. I dunno. Maybe I got over the drunk when I was passed out. But I wet my whistle (and my mouth and throat, and Nai's too). And we fiddled with the fun stuff some more.

Until we heard footsteps in the hallway. Grabbed the clothes (when did those come off) and managed to squeeze ourselves into a cabinet uner the sink. Considering there were pipes and drain cleaner and stuff inder there too, it was pretty cramped. I don't know if it was from lack of oxygen, or too much to drink, or one of those weird science thingies, but we both pretty much passed out.

Woke up in the morning. We had both tumbled out of the cabinet and onto the floor, which gave me enough of a jolt to wake me (if it hadn't, I probably would've slept for days). So I guess it happened for the best.

I could've lived without the dozen or so scientist staring at us though.

Whatever. I told them that their pharmacy was terrible; it wasn't open late and it didn't even carry aspirin. They told me it wasn't a pharmacy, but a genetics lab. I told them it should still have something for headaches. Then grabbed Nai's arm and raced downstairs, gave her a card, told her to send me any clothing bills, and managed to catch a cab home. Which I passed out in. Woke up a week later in bed.

Someone help me. @_@
