ekirei: Thank you! CG used to be my worst thing, and then I started to practice more with color pastels for traditional pieces, and got better. I guess it was all a matter of understanding the colors and how they work together.
Dr. Valentine
In the first and third ones, their mouths are odd, I think there is something strange about the corners, like the lips don't relate properly.
I think that in the second one her right eye is farther from the bridge of her nose than her left is? There is something about the placement or angle of those eyes that seems off-putting to me.
I do agree that you have some definate skills with color though, all of these images are pleasantly vibrant.
*nods* I quite agree with you on the lips thing. Those were the two I painted without references, so it makes sense that those would be the two with the odd lips. I suppose it's cause I didn't study mouths enough before. I'll be sure to fix that in my future stuff.
And about the eyes for the second one: that's the main thing that was bugging me. It was cause I drew the references down so quickly that I didn't notice it until after I did most of the details of the picture. I should have probably taken a break after doing the basic sketch first ^^;;
Thanks for the awesome critique! I love picking out my color schemes, so I'm happy to hear that they are "pleasing".
Thank you!
