Rumor

Ok, a while back I heard that you could recieve a Celebi from Prof. Oak on LG/FR by beating all the elite four but lose to the champion. After you lost you were suppose to go to prof. oak and he would give you a bunch of easy pokemon to beat. When you were done you were suppose to get a celebi from him.

Well I had my cousin try the cheat code out and it didn't work. If any of you heard that and were planning to give it a try, don't. Its been proven false.

Tip

Here is the Glitch to catch Mew in R/B/Y

For those of you who know about the Mew cheat code on the red/blue/yellow versions. I have the fastest way I know of doing it for you.

1. If you have pokemon you would like to keep on the game you are going to have to trade them over to another game (red/blue/yellow/silver/gold/crystal)then restart it (I'm sure most of you have done this)

2. After restarting the game, try and catch at least 5 or 6 pokemon you don't mind trading, and trade back your good pokemon on your old game. Try and trade over pokemon that know HM moves like cut, fly, flash, ect. (note: remember that without certain badges your high-leveled pokemon will have a hard time obeying you)

3. Go through the game normally, defeat the first three gym leaders (if you want to get through it fast, try and avoid trainer battles)

4. As soon as you get the 3rd gym badge and you are able to fly you need to find your way to lavender town. You can go from there with the rest of the cheat code.

all-in-all this tip narrows your time down to about 2hours. (I caught my mew in 2hours and 2mins using this method)if you have a faster way of getting mew, please post it.

I saw on a website that catching Chimecho would be easiest by using the sweet scent from a Tropius on the peak of Mt. Pyre. I have tried this tip and it didn't work with me. I found Chimecho just walking around. It may work for you but it's not a "have-to" to find Chimecho.

Here is a good tip from your friendly neighbor Shin Duelist Paris

Tired of leaving the Safari Zone empty handed or without the Pokemon you wanted? Well here is what you gotta do to solve that.

First go to the Safari Zone and go to the area where the Pokemon you eant is most likely to appear, but instead of walking around in the grassy patches press softly the control pad in any direction except the one youre facing making your character to just change the direction it is facing, this way pokemon will come to you but your "steps" (The steps you have to walk around in the Safari Zone) Wont be depleted so all you have to worry about is not to run out of Safari Balls

Trick

This is a glitch to get as many nuggets as you want in FR/FG, also it works for R/B/Y.

Well anywho, on route 24 above Cerulean City there are 5 trainers that make up the nugget bridge. Once you beat them, do not talk to the 6th guy who will give you the nugget, instead go back to Cerulean City put all you pokemon in a box get a weak pokemon like Magicarp or low-level pidgey. Also, if you have a half-decent ammount of money go buy lots of super potions or pokeballs. Once you have done this go talk the 6th trainer who gives you a nugget. He turns out to be a rocket and will fight you to get you to join them, well if you followed my advice you should get your butt kicked by him and lose half your money, which doesn't matter if you used it all rofl . So once you wake up go back and talk to him again and he will give you another nugget, and kick your butt once more. You can do this as many times as you want I myself did it 20 times for a nice $100,000 rofl

Here is a rumor I heard awhile back.

In R/B version, beat the Elite Four 100x. Then you will be allowed to walk inside the Hall of Fame. I actually tried it, and what a fool I was.

I remember this one glitch that said you could go to Glitchy City...and it worked! It was really strange, the buildings were all funny shaped and you could walk through walls, but it was use-at-your-own-risk...

Glitchy... City? sweatdrop

And, to Seth: I myself heard that you had to beat the Elite Four 30 times before you would be allowed to walk in the Hall of Fame, where people would trade you "Pokegods" for common Pokemon. This was in RBY.

Other RBY rumors are as follows...

1) You can own a Mewthree (like Mewtwo... except three...); all you have to do is use a Water Stone on a Mewtwo 100 times. On the 100th use, Mewtwo will evolve into Mewthree.
-This is very very false. stare

2) You can own a Flareth. To do so, talk to the thirsty little girl on the Celadon Dept. Store Roof, and give her the 3 drinks she desired. Then, use a Fire Stone on a Flareon that you have with you, 1,000 times. On the 1,000th use, Flareon will evolve into Flareth.
-Also a lie... stressed

3) You can own a Pikablu. Obtain all badges, and legally catch all 150 (NOT 151) Pokemon, and LEGALLY train 17 of them up to level 100. Go to Pewter City, and talk to the man in the Science Museum who gives you the Old Amber. Then, leave the building and fly to Celadon City; go into the Celadon Game Corner reward shop, and talk to a vendor. Leave there and fly to Fuschia City to enter the Safari Zone. Catch one Taurus (spelling?) and leave. Fly back to the reward shop and talk to the same vendor you talked to before; you will then receive a level 100 Pikablu. (There's a little more to this than what is mentioned, but I forgot it. sweatdrop )
-This is so false it isn't even funny. There is no Pokemon named "Pikablu." The closest thing to that is Marill, which won't make its game debut until GSC.

I also heard that if you beated the Elite Four 12 times on LG/FR you'd be able to catch a mew in Victory Road. I'm not entirely sure if this is true or not.

Trick

Everyone knows what a pain it is the find/catch the Legendary Beasts, well here is a fast way to find them in LG/FR.

Go buy 20ish Repels of any kind, withdraw any pokemon lv 49 or less and make it your first pokemon, then go to the route 11 gate house (east of vermilion). Once inside the Gate house save the game. After you have saved use a Repel and go outside and make about 20 steps in the grass. If it does not show up in 20 step go back into the gatehouse and back outside and try again untill it shows up or you run out of repels.

So far I got this to work with Raikou and I'm about to try it with Entei. If you want to know how to catch them.....ask someone else I used a spare master ball rofl

I used the cloning trick (has to do with the computer's storage system, trading link, another pokemon game with only 6 weak pokemon, I'm not good at explaining it, and yes it works in all of them if you try it right) And I got over 60+ master balls, it was a good time for me, caught all the rare pokemon without a fight

I found an interesting glitch in Crystal today, concerning the color clothing that your trainer wears. This only works for Crystal, so don't try it with any other games that allow you to pick your gender!!!!!one!!oneone!!!!eightysevenpointfive [/newbling talk]

Blue boy, red girl
In Crystal you can choose to be a boy or a girl. The girl wears blue and the boy wears red. With these simple cheats you can be the wrong color. Note that step 1 is optional, but if you opt not to do it, you will lose any and all Pokemon and items you have.

1) Link your game to Pokemon Stadium 2 and transfer all your Pokemon and items.
2) Start a new game as the opposite gender to who you want to be.
3) As soon as you have control of the game, press start and select save.
4) When it says DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER, turn off the power.
5) Start another game as the gender you want to have.
6) You are different colored.
