( This RP is for Deshi and Icelus only. DO NOT POST if you are not one of those two. ) Mother, your child dreams of death -- and your child dreams of life.
*He walked hand in hand with Deshi, keeping up with her, trying to wrap her up in comfort so she wouldn't fear so. He leaned in close, making himself visible as they left behind the world of the waking -- his bare feet were as silent as cats' paws on the bare flagstones as the scene cleared.
Before them, and all around them, were small houses and shops, a rather quaint, lovely little village. But the shutters were all locked, the doors all barred*
Your child dreams of a time in which he made his people afraid to sleep...

*She looked around, face stained with tears. She had no idea what was going on but she leaned in closer to the only one around for comfort. She didn't know who Icelus was, but she was certain he was someone she could trust. Like the man in the dream she once had. While all was fire and chaos, she recieved comfort from one man... one man... with white hair... Could he be the man from her dream?*
Why? His past... Oh God... What's wrong with him?

Your son... can only be who he is, Mother.
*One gentle arm slid around the frightened girl, his tail switching back and forth behind them as he led her toward the hill, and the flights of stairs.
At the top of the hill was visible a temple with cream-white walls and a roof tiled with purple -- and the stone urns that littered the path were lit, blazing and roaring.
Tiny drops of blood littered the stairs.*
Your son is afraid, Mother. Your son needs you, even in his dreams -- he is fragile. Chaos is a finer line to walk than Order -- things must be perfectly imperfect, and in this there is flaw. How can anything be both perfect and imperfect at one moment? Even in Chaos, there must be order... and in Order, there must be chaos, perfectly aligned... your son, in his past life, thought like looking into mirrors... seeing himself reflected a thousand, thousand times...
Your son was mad, Mother... and did terrible, terrible things...
*A shriek, high and mad and frightened, split the quiet night*

*Deshi had been listening to the words spoken to her, even if it didn't seem like it. Her eyes were darting around frantically like a frightened animal. He says all this, but where was Kemis? Was he ok? He needed her... But where was he?
The scream broke her thoughts and for a moment it was all that existed. Her mind strained against the chaos in her head to figure out if it was from Kemis but in the end the answer was no. It was not her child's scream.
Terrible things....
Kemis couldn't possibly...
She broke away from Icelus and raced to the front of the temple as fast as her legs could carry her.
She froze at the door.
She could plainly hear the sound of her heart breaking and each delicate shard making contact with the stone floor as she collapsed to her knees*

*The scent of blood and fire was thick in the air in the temple -- hot and acrid. The whitewashed walls were splattered with blood and incense oil, and the floor was wet with it, though the soft sounds of someone singing could be heard, a soft singsong in words that would be indecipherable to anyone hearing it. Someone in the holiest place of the temple was breathing hard and fast, desperate, panting and weeping and begging -- and there, frozen like a statue, watching with blank eyes with his cut wrist dripping blood, was the Kemis-that-is, observing...
Another form of him moved around a bound form, adjusting the ties, a ceremonial knife in one hand wet with blood as he sang softly. His soft violet hair was long, silky, fine -- it strayed over his face and his lean, exposed upper body. The Kemis-priest was elegant, sleek, even beautiful...
If it weren't for the thick scarlet war-paint of blood smearing his ivory skin, soaking his arms and his stark-white robes. His tail dripped with it, and he was smiling, his empty violet eyes looking strangely broken as he bent to cut another ceremonial sigil into living flesh, drawing another broken sobbing cry.
And still, shaking, the Kemis of the future does not move, watching as his mad, broken past self goes on with his ritualistic work*
*Quite suddenly he was there, kneeling beside Deshi*
Mother, your son needs you to be strong. Go to him.

*Deshi stayed still for some time, eyes wide and locked on the scene before her. She barely registered anything else, especially her sobbing son. As the knife came down for another cut she buried her face in her hands, wetting them with her tears. She sobbed into them before the sound of her son's sobbing finally reached her. Her eyes opened in her hands and she looked up. Her face was puffy and red from sorrow, her hair was messy as always, her body was trembling, but she began to get up.
She used Icelus as support and eventually made it to her feet, however shakey they were. She took a few slow and shuffled steps, trying hard to shield her eyes from the scene. She winced at every cry of pain and thought the force of his cries were enough to sweep her feet out from under her. But as the scene went on, her pace quickened.
She not only needed to comfort her son, she needed comfort as well. The need for security, the need to bring security to him, was was drove her forward. Each step was driven by the hope that she could finally be of service to her highly rejecting and independant son.
What they needed now, was each other.
She crashed to her knees again, this time beside him. They were becoming bruised from all this crashing. Her arms reached around him and pulled the wimpering teen into her arms. Although he was now her age, he was more like a child now than he ever was.
Her child.
And she rocked him, sobbing, and shooshing him. This was all she could think to do.
Slowly she patted his back and turned his face away from the horror*
Do do, My Baby...
*She sang as she rocked him gently in her arms*

*He could not move, could not think -- his empty broken eyes fastened on the Kemis-that-was, the sleek body and the lifeless eyes and the way the beautiful mouth curved as he sang. Barely feeling the arms around him, he whimpered and sobbed softly.
It was the sounds of the crying that made him hear her -- his delicate ears perked a bit, and as he was turned away from the mesmerizingly awful sight, he leaned his head against Deshi, listening to the teary singing, hearing it like a thread of quiet amidst all of the pain and hurt and... chaos.
This was mother, was shelter, was familiar... a faint, rusty purr rumbled in his throat, tiny and thready and uncertain, but enough -- just barely breaking him from the shell of his pain.
My child... my children...
*This time it was his turn to lament as he moved deeper into the sanctuary, staying the hand with the knife. The confused priest looked up, not seeing the saddened deity as Icelus' fingers brushed the violet silk of his hair from his eyes, pressed cold kisses to his cheeks and forehead*
My broken, chaotic child...

*She couldn't help but feel joy as Kemis came to her for comfort for the first time. She sniffled and hugged him tighter and she shielded his eyes while her own followed Icelus and then turned away as he neared Kemis. She was becoming ill at the sight and smell of blood and was becoming and unhealthy shade of white. The fingers that held Kemis were becoming colder and weaker but her hold on him did not cease. Her singing grew shakier but she did not stop.
Her tears fell into his soft purple hair*
Do do, My Baby....

Kemis's purple eyes closed, and he relaxed, the tension in his body melting away as he lay simply in his mother's arms, listening to her gentle, feeble singing, feeling her tears in his hair. Was she crying... for him? Why would she cry for him? Stupid girl... And there was the guilt. He'd gone and made her upset again... he was upsettingly good at that...
"Mother...?"
In your future... you will have someone to love you as I cannot, my chaotic child...
*His arms wrapped around the broken priest's waist, as the mourning god pressed a kiss to the nape of his neck. The Kemis-that-was yawned once, and then melted into a small heap, sleeping on the blood-soaked ground as if it were a fine feather bed.
While the priest slept, the deity carefully unbound the human, cradling the exhausted, bloodied man in his arms. He held the large creature as if he were a baby*
Poor human... I am so very, very sorry... It is the very least I can do to give you a second chance...
*As the human gibbered and wept in the god's arms, the wounds began to heal slowly. Icelus wept over the terrified human, his tears shining blue as small moons, wetly spattering the broken body -- where the tears fell, healing spread out from there rapidly.

*Deshi loosened her grip on Kemis to look into his eyes. Her smile was one of relief and love. Her eyes were shining with happiness and from the glittering tears still lingering in them*
Mom..... I'm... I'm so sorry... *He sobbed* I'm so sorry!
*She buried his face back into her chest and hugged him again, becoming progressively calmer as well*
Shhh.... That's not you.... that's not who you are... not anymore.... you're my boy... And no matter how cruel you act, aloof you pretend to be, you will always be such... It's ok... I'm here... I'll always be here...
I love you.
*he couldn't speak for sobbing, but not of sorrow this time, but for relief... just as she was. His arms slowly wrapped around hers and he comforted her back as best he could, the blood still on his wrist soaking her shirt but she made no move to remove it*

*The blood-soaked temple faded around them, but both of them were still as solid as before, as was Icelus, once he'd set the human free. The world wavered, and then all trace of chaos and carnage was gone.
The dark, defiled temple was replaced with one clean, sweetly scented, and comfortable. The floor beneath them was padded with woven mats, and the night air was scented with jasmine from a garden outside the windows.
Icelus seemed to have dissolved, but as he spoke, the words were faint, barely present*
Mother, you have saved your child this night... you may rest.. for now.

*Deshi was very relieved at the scenary change and the sick feeling was leaving her. She sighed weakly as the color began to flow back into her skin*
Kemis.... We should go back now... You're still bleeding.

I will let you return now, Mother and child.
*Soft blue light began to suffuse the temple, bleeding out into the air, shining mildly with vivid brightness. The scenery began to fade, sense by sense*
The time of your child is coming, Mother... be prepared.
*With that, the two would find themselves returned to their bodies, with the bridge of light between them shattered*
