It had been a few hours, the sun well over its peak and drifting back down towards its set. Outside of the graveyard, where the large cliffs protected and broke away from the soutlands, a figure lied motionless against one large stone. His larger body was set a deep red, and from the distance once would assume his pelt had merged with the rock he was settled upon. However, that was no fur, that was a pool of dried blood, the sticky film having come from the large wounds from his eye, shoulder and other various scratches.

The lion seemed to not even be breathing, and his neck was tilted at an odd angle. It was not as if he were sleeping, but instead it was clear he had fallen from the misty cliffs above, their peak unknown from clouds they drifted through. And as the day moved on, the figure shifted every so oftin, and grows moved from his soar maw. He was waking, and it would be no good, for unconcious he only shivered in pain every so oftin, but if he awoke, there would be no slumber that would break the pain of his wounds. It would be hell all over again.

Motobi'ata had been a dire curious thing lately, and accidently wandered past the Firekin border. She had walked for what seemed like hours, until the sun had begun to hide itself. Her sense of direction wasn't all too accurate, and in no time it let her to the border of another pride.

As she padded about over the dunes, she spotted a motionless figure, silently awaiting a visitor to say hello, or that was the thought in her mind. Sprung with happiness, she lept down to the corpse, and then stood beside it. She looked down at its face, somewhat recognizing the colours and markings in an instant. Shocked, she came closer, and began licking the male's face, in an attempt to get a reaction out of him. She was strange, alright, but she couldn't think of any other way to grab his attention.

His mind was a blank slate, as flat and still as the rock he had fallen upon. Slowly, however, the pain dissapated from the numb state and moved back towards the force it once was, and thus caused the adolescent to shift and try to find the perfect spot to stop that pain. As he moved slightly, his mind registered a sound, and slowly black ears perked as much as they could, until her tongue found his face.

All at once, his blood red eyes snapped open, and he sprung on his paws. As if he had never stood on them before, he skidded a bit with claws extended before backing away and towards the edge of the cliffs, where his back found the stone and he gaped at the female.

It was only a moment where he could stare at her in surprise before his eyes clenched closed and his forearm gave away. Falling to his belly, his mind spun as his arms and eye throbed and a groan left his maw. Moto was forgotten for the moment as he shook his head back and forth, trying to find a way to get rid of the pain, unknowing that his neck was the cause of the headache, the fall causing a bruise and fracture. The fracture was small, but anytime he stood for awhile, the pain would come.

The young lioness backed up as the blood covered male flung up to his feet. Her ears lowered, as she looked away, scared. She figured that the male would give in and accept her help, but this one was different. Did he actually want to 'fight' with her? She shrugged, and then came closer as he struggled back to a fall.

She spoke softly, as she looked more carefully at the red male. "Are you ... alright? ... " She blushed lightly, looking away. "I didn't mean to scare you, but you looked a little hurt. I ... just wanted to help." She closed her eyes in sadness as Motobi'ata just simply came closer, to comfort him. She only wanted to assist the injured lion, since she somewhat thought she knew him from somewhere.

Her white paws padded closer and closer to the black and red male as she stood beside him once more. "... whats your name? I feel like I know you from somewhere."

As she moved closer, his eyes snapped up once again and he stopped shaking his head, pushing with his good forearm back dispite how his body moved no further. To compensate, he just lowered his head and set his jaw, as if he were about to spring away and find a safehaven where no one could find him. But once again, as she spoke, his raven black ears perked and he looked to the side, blood soaked mane sticking to his face as he thought over her questions, her words.

At first, it was as if he couldn't even comprehend.

Than, they clicked, and he remembered how to speak, if only in a rasp. His voice was earie, a croak and a ghost of something that once was. He shivered slightly when he tried to make a statement, and faltered and stumbled over most of his words.

"I...I...don't know...don't know who I am..." Letting out a shaky breath at that, his eyes closed as another wave of pain came on, and he set his gaze firmly on his paws once more.

Motobi'ata simply stood by his side, refusing to leave him. She was confused by his motives, though. Why was he so ... strange? Why was he covered in blood? She smiled, and then sat beside him.

"You need to be cleansed. I can help you. I can clean the blood from your fur, and help you out until your healed once again." She was like the complete opposite of a Firekin. Instead of leaving the poor male to die, she was willing to risk her own life out in the middle of nowhere to help some stranger out.

She twitched her head when he finally spoke. His voice was so harsh, and cut up, it sounded horrific compared to the soothing voice of the lioness. "Well, then, If you don't know who you are -- i'll help you with that, too. I'd love to know more about you, and to help you regain your thought. Looks like you took a nice big bump to forget who you are." She just never shutup. She lioness was all talk, and not enough action, for the time atleast.

He just watched as she settled beside him, confusion lacing the debths of his eyes as she smiled soon after. Narrowing his eyes in thought while she spoke of cleaning him, he started to look at her like she was the crazy one, moreso becuase he had no idea what she was talking about, and no idea the sorce of his pain was the blood or the throbing that was in his eye and legs. It was at that moment he looked to his right forearm and let out a soft hiss, eyes tracing over the deep marks that were inflamed and bleeding again from his sudden movements.

Looking back to her as she answered his short sentence, he suddenly got a violent glint in his eye and let out a short hiss towards her with his next scratchy sentence, "How can you get to know me, when I dont even know who I am..." He said the sentence with a frustrated drawl, unable to speak very loudly or quickly, "...a foolish..." He looked away in the distance as he sought for the word, "...goal...trying to find a forgotten past..." Already, the pain and frustration was getting to him, and soon enough his vision was filled with unshed tears.

Motobi'ata shrugged as he questioned her motives. "Well, I don't ... really know. But, you looked like you needed some help." The adolescent smiled more, and then placed a paw on his own. "Don't worry, I won't be going anywhere. I want to make sure you get through this fine."

"Nothing is foolish. Everything has an answer, my friend." She nodded, a grin on her maw. "Anyways, I suppose giving you my name might help a bit out. My name is Motobi'ata, and i'm from the Motoujamii."

He bowed his head shamefully at her words, clearly they warmed his heart and humbled his soul. As she said her name, he glanced at her and nodded, slowly speaking out in a soft drawl seeing as they were so close.

"Motobi'ata...what does it mean?" It was soft, and clearly a small effort at trying to get a conversation in. His words were coming out easier, and after a second he added on, "And what are the Motoujamii?"

Blinking his blood red eyes in a confused manor, it was hard to connect the male with the pride he questioned, and even to consider his old persona before the fall. Naraka had changed, and if it was for the better, it had yet to be determined, though the male made no questioning to what he did not know. Instead, he paitently waited, his eyes prodding for her to continue and help explain the world to his seemingly infant mind.

The female smiled as he questioned her. "Motobi'ata means Fire in the Desert. My father named me, my dad is amazing." Her eyes lit up as she looked towards the pride. "Motoujamii is the pride I live in, the Firekin as we are often referred to. We're the desert-living lions. The strong-willed warriors of the barren land."

She puffed out her chest to show strength, but there was nothing to show. She was a weakling, compared to the other lions. She was just too soft on the inside. That was the ill fate of the runt of the litter. It always was.

His maw slipped into a soft, boyish smile at her name, and the care she had for her father. When her eyes lit up, his seemed to as well, getting caught up in everything and listening to the respect she had for her pride as well, until she spoke of how they were warriors.

"Warriors...what does that mean...that they fight?" He asked childishly, his head lowering as he peered towards her, and his smile returned at the puffing of her chest. Slowly, he was forgetting his pain as he got caught up in her discription, images being creating in his curious mind.

"Unfortunately, yes, i'm afraid. Although, I don't fight. I like keeping my distance from the more hot-blooded Firekin of the Motoujamii." She smiled, as she watched Naraka stare off to ponder on what she stated.

"I don't really ... like what they do. Neither does my father, so I usually stick around him and my mother. They're probably the kindest Firekin in the whole pride."

"I wouldn't want to fight either, I'm sure of that much," He confided softly, his smile growing moreso into a full bloom as he boyishly diverted his gaze away from her own, "I think it makes more sense that it takes more strength to be passive than to jump into fights..." Trailing off, he seemed unsure of himself at that and simply moaned a bit while shifting in agitation.

Whining under his breath, his ruby eyes teared a bit before he took a deep inhale and let it lose in a huff.

"You are kind like your parents, I'm sure." He murmered, trying to distract himself.

"Yeah, I usually wander from the pride often. I don't like what they do very much." Motobi'ata smiled, looking away from Naraka. "Yeah, I think i'm the closest to my parents, that my other siblings. I'm like a replica of my father ... only, he keeps telling me I look like my grandmother."

She looked at him once more, and came over to him. "So, why are you out here, anyways? You know, if you'd like, you could come back to the pride and stay in my parent's den. They wouldn't mind. They could use the extra company." She held out a paw, questioning him.

He stilled a moment at her request, and just blinked before shifting and cringing slightly. His right side had gone numb and suddenly the pain flared off again.

"I don't know how far I can make it in this condition, Moto..." He said with a distracted look, trying not to appear weak before his newfound friend, "But-" He continued on softly, "I would very much like to stay with someone I know...you are the first person I've met...to my knowledge. It would make me feel better than just wandering without a clue..."
