Ingredients

For the brownies:
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules or crystals
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 bag of Betty Crocker double chocolate chunk cookie mix
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 egg

For the frosting:
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules or crystals
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Baking time!

1. Heat your oven to 350 F. Spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
2. In large bowl, dissolve 1 teaspoon instant coffee in 2 tablespoons hot water. Add remaining brownie ingredients; stir until a soft dough forms. Spread mixture in the pan.
3. Bake 15 minutes & cool completely.
4. In large bowl, dissolve 2 teaspoons instant coffee in 1/4 cup hot water. Add remaining Frosting ingredients; stir until smooth. Spread over bars. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until set.
5. Cut into brownies & enjoy!

YUMMY! Cinnamon...ooooh sounds luscious. I like brownies that actually taste like chocolate. I like my coffee strong, so perhaps I will try instant espresso powder. I will try the icing with Dutch processed cocoa too....ahh I am getting so many great ideas from this forum..... I heard of a great tip for getting brownies that will not be overcooked and will be really moist and chewy. While the brownies are baking, prepare an ice bath....a baking pan that is larger than the one you are using. Fill this larger pan with cold water and some ice cubes. WHen the brownies are finished, immediately place the brownies pan into the ice bath and let them rest until they are completely cooled. You could also stick the brownies straight to the freezer, but that just melted everything already inside like my precious ice cream. heheheh. Thanks for the recipe!

i love brownies. with anything in or on them. they are ultimate feel-happy food for a sad person. i would love to make them today, but i've got some chocolate to make me feel better. but for sure i'm going to make those soon!

Brownies are the best! And these ones sound yummy! Next time I make brownies--I'm trying out these!
