Sighing, the tidy and polished teacher looked out of the frosty window of the doctors office. Since when had winter come so soon? Lately things for Madeline had been going...down hill. Being called in for shots today hadn't exactly helped that. Usually, things always went bad.
Picking up the floder D-corp had given her, Madeline patiently awaited for the next child to walk through the door.

Taren was fixed in his usual spot behind his gaurdians leg, his pink nose sticking out fro behind it as well as one lens of his glasses, His guardian had said shots where to make him stronger ane protect him and that all that it would involve was a little p***k on his arm, but the way she had said it had somhow set him on edge, he might not know what it was exactly but he didn't trust it. He was strong enough he decided. "mum." He tugged on her pant leg. "Wanna go home. Strong enough and you protect me."
He agrueed.
Silen sighed, and it had been going well...sort of. "Sorry sweetie you need to have this done okay? I'll stay with you the whole time promise." Thinking that she would prefeer t if he didn't bolt at the first sign of needles she picked him up as she stepped through the door.

"Ah Miss..." Madeline's voice faltered as she failed to recall the last name of the parent infront of her. Oh my, she certainly was off beat lately....Shoving these thoughts out of her mind howver, Madeline corrected herself and moved on to shut the door behind the pair. "Lovely day isn't it? My name is Ms. Crossette, I'm filling in for the doctor today. "
"Let's see now, you must be Taren?" The teacher gave the frightened mole a warm smile, "Such a cute little guy you are...If you go have a seat on the table, I'll try to hurry up so you can get your treat and leave."
Did she mention lollipops were involved in this?--Maybe that's where she had been going wrong all this time.

"Miss Nicoles if you want to be formal." The mole's guardian voulnteered, "But I really prefeer Silen." This women seemed nice enough, a little to prim and proper looking for her tastes really but she trusted she'd be gentle with Taren.
Speaking of the mole boy he was still sitting in his guardian's arm's quite conten there, as usual having refused to wear normal clothing he wore one of his mothers othersized cotton shirts, his second bestes colour as he called it a deep blue. Small fur lined boots were on his feet as a small protection from walking in the chill weather. He liked the women already though, she looked friendly and she said he was cute, however what really perked him up was mention of a treat. Treat? Well that ccouldn't be bad, he even offerd the women a shy smile.
"Do I need to put him down somewhere then?" Silen asked as she looked down at Taren who had now grown confrotable enough to peer round the room inquiringly, nose twitching.

"Miss Nicoles..." Madeline smiled, still feeling awfully horrible for not bother to memorize the woman’s name before hand. At least she managed to get Taren's name, right?
Flustered, but not to be distracted from her work, Madeline finished getting things pre-paired and headed back to the examination table. "Yes, just place him right here." The woman said with out looking up from putting on a pair of white doctor's gloves.
"So Taren, how old are you?" Madeline asked, ready to distract her little patient from the first needle which moved into his arm as she rolled up his sleeve.

As his gaurdian did as requested and set him on the table he shiverd slightly and ooked up at the blonde women, flinching slightly as she approched. She looked nice but then again you could never be too carful.
Unfortunatly the women also choose the completly wrong question to ask since Taren still used his fingers to help him count and express numbers, causing him to look down and catch sight of the needle, long and pointed, deffinatly not a good compination, he watched it slide into his skin and all his fur bristled, his body tensed. "Don't like it, take it out." he cried distressed.
He would have wriggled and run away if she hadn't gotten ito ino his arms before he had a chance, now he was afraid to move at all.

"No, no sweetheart please don't--" but it was too late, the little boy had looked down and was now wriggling about on the table. Which, was quite possibly the worst thing he could do. Fretfully Madeline pulled out the shot, and pressed her hands to the little boy shoulder. "Ssh, shh, it's all right..."
"Please calm down little one," Madeline did her best to smile, but it was rather hard to with a hysterical child. This was possibly the part of the job she hated most...she didn't like making children cry. "Here--" Reaching into her pocket, Madeline pulled out a sucker. "Do you like sweet things?"

Taren looked up at the women as she took the needle out, he relaxed alittle but now the barrer had been broken and fat wet tears dropped from his eyes as he sniffled and tried to wriggle away from the women with the mean needles, he didn't like it one bit he looked over at his mother for help and reached out his arms howeve his ears sudely pricked and his turned back to the lady. 'sweet things?' yes he liked sweets alot.
His eyes looked at the sucker wearily but he made a renewed effort to stop the tears, rubbing large hands under his glasses and snifling a little mange for the most pat to calm down heheld out his hand to the treat. "yes..please." he said looking at her.

"One more, and you can go with the treat. I hope you should know you've been terribly good. Allright, big breath now, don't look--"
Quickly Madeline finished up the last bit of work, and slapped on a wonderful blue band-aid. "An that finishes it and for the brave patient you were," With a sweeter than candy smile, Madeline held out the sucker for Taren.
"You're free to go, " turning around to his mother the woman added, "But please remember to check for notices in the mail. Check ups, more shots...anything else that might arise."
"Have a good day now," The teacher waved as she ushered the too out of the room. Ouh, how she hated to hurry everything along.
