Miller had finally found him self a new 'home' away from his duplex, granted it wasn't really a home, he still slept at his duplex, he would often find him self wandering over to a rather large tree near the lakes. The branches were set up just right that he could sit and almost lay in one of the larger ones.
It was in this tree Miller would loose him self to his ipod and his constant wandering thoughts, thoughts often tied to the other changes he had been under going. It was slower, more subtle in a visual sense but he could feel something was wrong with his shoulders, like they were twisted or warped in some way during the change or in the days that followed. Today however he was more alert to his surroundings havening only arrived a short while ago, the boy had yet to fully relax and loose him self to his thoughts.

How long had it been since Gaius set foot anywhere near the jungle? The closest he’d come since the beach party had probably been riding in one of the lab jeeps, but he’d been out cold at the time.
He placed a hand against one of the rough tree trunks and shivered. Images of the wolf girl sprang too easily to mind. Howling, snarling, tearing into throats of Fiona and Ambrose…
Gaius gulped, swallowing his fear. Over half the island was jungle… he couldn’t live in the village for the rest of his… for however long he was there. He took one hesitant step, careful of where the sandal-clad foot landed, and then another and another. Soon he was making his way deeper, growing less and less careful of stepping on twigs, though he remained hunched, ears craning this way and that.
“A-At least Annie shouldn’t hunt this close to the village…” he tried to reassure himself, but his voice sounded small and weak in the relative quietness.

Slowly his thumb rotated around the ipod ring clicking away at his songs, finally having found a CD by Blue October the boy started to relax a bit, and he would have relaxed had it not been for a sound interupting his song. Sure most animals wandered the woods cracking a few twigs now and then, but something was different about this noise.
Sitting up and slowly getting in to a crouch with one hand holding a branch above him for support he started to scout the jungle around him. From where he sat what ever was out there hopefully wouldn't notice him first. The next thin to set him on alert was a voice, mumbling to it's self.
Mental islanders? He knew Kikue would sometimes slip and react more like the animal she was then a human, but did that mean some people were so lost they were a danger to others? Unlike Gaius Miller knew nothing of Annie really, he had been long gone during the attack.
He would wait, and hopefully the waiting wouldn't get him a lump on the head... or worse.

Gaius paused in his tracks, ears craning up. Had he heard something? A branch creak? No, just his imagination… Probably a bird or something…
“Hold it together, pal, you’re doing fine…”
He continued his trek, unaware of his watcher, until he was standing right beneath Miller’s tree. Leaning against it, he took a deep breath, needing a brief break. As active a person as he was, the adrenaline and the prey-animal instincts creeping into his mentality drained far more than a normal walk.

Miller leaned over closer now trying to get a better view of the figure moving around under what he had come to consider his own tree. He wasn't sure how to react and slowly he leaned closer risking that the figure would see him, a twig snapped and droped near Gaius.
Should Gaius look up all he would see is a hoodie wearing figure hunched over and watching him curiously.

The snap of the twig and flash of movement out of the corner of his eye brought a yelp edged with horse-shriek from the big guy, who jumped back against the tree, wings flaring and eyes and ears darting about fearfully. And then, out of the side of his vision, he caught a shadowy figure crouching in the tree above him. His mind could just envision the fangs gleaming in the shadowed form, bared at him.
"EYAAAAAAGH!" Gaius dropped to the ground, scrambling back and away from the tree. "P-PLEASE DON'T EAT ME!"

Miller said nothing, he did jump a bit however at the scream, carefully he started to make his way down the tree never letting his gaze away from the horse man, in a dark part of his mind he was glad that some one was afraid of HIM for once, though he wouldn't outright admit it his mind was enjoying the temporary rise in power in a place were he felt hopeless and useless.
Quiet suddenly he picked up speed moving down the tree before finally leaping out of it before even reaching the lower branches, the next thing Gaius would notice if he stopped panicking was that the boys feet looked more like a birds rather then that of something that would maul his face off.

Gaius' heart pounded as he watched fearfully, but what descended from the tree was no raging brown wolfess, but a baggy clothing-clad person of some sort. Even before he caught sight of the odd feet, Gaius' fear was replaced by confusion, and then by embarassment as it became apparent that whoever this person was, they hadn't intended to eviscerate him.
Still on the ground, Gaius' face flushed red and he lowered his eyes, regretting his outburst. "S-Sorry... I-I thought you were... Annie..."

Miller came up from his somewhat crouched spot on the ground looking at Gaius a bit more, up close his beak was much more apparent includeing the oddness that the lower part was still normal lip like flesh while his nose and upper lip was all beack.
"Dun knows any Aniiez..." he muttered quietly, "Whyz youuu under meh treee?" his voice had a distinct slurring to it, mostly because he wasn't used to having half a beak yet but for the most part he was understandable, least he hoped.

"I-I didn't know this was your tree..." Gaius said, getting to his knees. His eyes darted over the guy, taking in the odd details of his appearance and the reason for his odd speach. Huh, like Marshall then...
"And... You don't know about Annie? No wonder you're out here all alone. I mean, considering she could be anywhere, waiting to pounce..."

Miller shrugged, it wasn't really his but it sure felt like it after all the time he spent in it. "Et's not ma tree 'zactly, I justs go to its lots..." he tilted his head about the Annie girl.
"Iz been kicks cross room bah Kik-ku, wutsa wost den that?" he was completely unaware of just how bad it could be.

Gaius blinked. Was that... actual talk? Whatever the guy'd said, he'd missed half of it...
"Uh, well, I dunno about any kicking, but Annie was the one who killed Fiona months ago... and then she attacked at the beach party and nearly throated Ambrose too. I thought almost everyone knew about the feral, homicidal wolf girl that's living somewhere in the jungle!"

Miller frowned digging through his thoughts to find why Fiona sounded so familiuer to him, it was then the thought of the grave stone that came to mind. He frowned the best he could with his altered face.
"I wuz gone when shay attaked de beech party..." he frowned suddenly wanting to either be in his tree or in his duplex. Now he started to see why Kikue always locked her door the way she did.

"You were at the beach part?" Gaius raised an eyebrow. There'd been several there, but normally he was okay at remembering faces...
"Anyways, I... Well, I've been too scared to go into the jungle since that happened, but I figured I'd try to get over it, you know?" He shrugged, finally getting to his feet, and rubbed his neck.

Miller sighed, the guy didn't remember him? He only danced around the fire naked a few times. "Izu guy dared Annngel... angeliee..." he frowned, "girls gots nakkid didz dance cuz dared er too..."
He shrugged, "Treez iez safe?" wolfs can't climb really, but then, she wasn't a normal wolf, still it was better then the forest floor right now.
