Probation Begins January 24 2010

Kat was lying in bed, tossing and turning. When ever she got comfortable, her belly would go off in a secuence of kicking and punching- Argh! Finaly lying on her side at 7am in the morning, the babe stopped kicking... Blissful... She was just about to dose off when she heard a knock at the door. Cursing all the words under the sun for having the room next to the front door she struggled out of bed and donned her fluffy fleece coat and put on her cow shapped slippers and shuffled over to the door.

Achthonian peered at her through sleepy eyes, not more then slits, gave a mightly yawn and went back to sleep. Holding back the erge to talk unessasrily loud to keep the stupid wolf awake she pulled the door open just a smidgin. It was snowing. Oh god. She peered through the crack to see a mail man... "Oh." Taken back at seeing him this early she opened the door and all but dragged the man inside. "What are you doing dilivering mail in wether like this?" She demanded quietly.

"I-er... We.... Sorry Ma'am... But-." Kat cut him short, "Yeah, yeah I know the drill. But its awfully cold out there."
The mail man looked a little uneasy. Pregnant ladies were always over the top about anything. "You see... We got this letter- We was told it had to be delivered imediatly... And me with the wings had to-" His voice trailed off as he rummaged in his bag for it. "Here it is Ma'am." He pulled out a cilinder shapped tube. Kat pulled at her lip. She hadn't odered anything... Unless.. "Are you sure it's mine? What address was it suposed to go to?" He showed her the postage stamp... Yep definatly mine... She signed for it and forced him to wait for her to make a flask of hot chocolate before he could leave, mumbling the whole time about it being to cold for anything in this wether.

Finally he left Kat stood by the door turning the tube around in her hands. "Odd." She mumbled.
What's that? A tired voice sounded in her head. Used to it by now she simply shrugged. "No idea Ach."
Open it? Let us find out.
As Kat turned the tube upside down something inside made a 'Shhhllipp' as it moved... Curious she pulled the lid off and peered inside. "What the-" She tipped the tube upside down in her hand catching the pappya paper deftly. She had a few encounters with Egiptian things as she's traveled there once before... But... Why did someone send her this? Unrolling the pappya paper she placed the tube on the table and carfully between finger and thumb she held it up into the dim morning light. "Its got a melted candle and some gibberish... I've never been all that good with Egyiptian writing..." She got the feeling, she needed to find the writer of this letter... And find out what it was about. Placing the pappya back into the tube she put it on her desk in her room, and once more. Tried to sleep.

As the day drew on she didn't have time. Between settling the gouse for the new coming babe and the other two caotic boys. She was going to have to do it later. Tomorrow maybe? But alas. As the afternoon dragged on... Her waters broke... So maybe not for a few days yet. Damit.

It was 2am. Once more... The little Danny wouldn't let her sleep, his almost cries waking every living thing up in the house. Yet knowing the wrath they'd get for making any more noise, smartly stayed in bed or simply stayed silent.

Kat paced up and down the hallway, into the lounge room then around the kitchen and back to the hallway, doing a continuos circle with the little fluff ball rocking in her arms, his plaintinve "Snurrrrr Craaaaaaaa Mrrmphhh's" Equoing around the empty rooms following behind Kats tired yet amazingly gental lulaby.

"Baby of mine, Dont you cry. Baby of mine. Close your eyes. Place your head. close to my heart. never to part. Baby of mine." Her eyes drooping tired bags under them she wished him to sleep. Always at 2am. Why? She needed sleep! She didn't deserve this. It just wasn't fair! And always on que, Ach would apear and suddenly Danny would stop crying, as if it never happened, he'd fall fast asleep in Kats willing arms. Looked like Ach could speak to him to...

After lying Danny back in bed Kat couldn't sleep. Same rutien over and over. She'd go into the kitchen and take down that papya paper, turning it over in her hands, "Bizar, it's got me so curious, but- Its nothing but some silly papya paper..." And like always she'd replace it back on the shelf and make herself a hot coco then toddle to bed.

Somehow an anonymous tip came in. Though the argument had lasted a few days, Nara had finally convinced the two males that it was more than worth checking out. However, neither Dr. Smith, nor Iain had felt comfortable with the Relic leaving the Library so soon. In the end though, through much pleading and judicious use of guilt the woman bullied them into letting her go, though not without both men acoompanying her.

Finally Nara stood, supported by the ever hooded Iain, at the front door. Knocking loudly she waited, hands clenched.

Kat jumpped as someone knocked on her door. "What the-?" She stared at it for a moment then slowly staggered over to the door. She'd once again, been kept awake all night from her crying babe and was in no mood to be disterbed from her coffee.

She opened the door, she'd no idea who these people where, so tiredly asked "Can I help you?" She tried to obsorb what the lady and the hooded... Figure... infront of her looked like, but her mind was in no mood to work.

Though the woman resembed nothing more than some skin spread over a skeleton, her voice was clear and steady. "Hello, I'm Nara from the Royal Library of Alexandria. Have you come across any odd parchments lately?"

Kat blinked. She mumbled something like, argh big words, but she nodded, "My sister sent me a- Thingy, like a tube with papya paper inside?" Her mind woke up a little. She may have some rather good artefect. Maybe something these guys had been looking for for a while-Like an over due book from many years ago? "I can show you." She stepped aside from the door way to alow the two strangers into her home. "It doesnt have much interesting on it. Other then a candle by the looks of it." She started to wonder if it was going to be such great a find for these guys- She probably had a fake thing anyways.

"Ah," Nara responded, thinking for a moment. "Do you think we might take a look at it? You see, there was a library many years ago on a place called Earth. This Library was destroyed but lately it's been found that several scrolls survived, migrating to Gaia. We're actually from the Gaian branch and hunting down these scrolls is our job." The woman smiled at Kat.

Kat just blinked. "Umm. Never heard of a place called 'Earth'..." She gave them both a bizare look, she gave a shrug. Well if they can tell her what that scroll ment then fine. "Yeah, Um... This way." She led them both down the short coridor and into the dinning room, to which she picked up her coffee and continued into the kitchen trying to understand what the lady had just said, "Sorry to be rude- But... What may I call you by?" She said as she lifted down the parchment and the roll it had been inside. Placing it on the counter infront of them. She gave it an odd look as if to say I hope someone can explain all this.

The pair followed Kat through her house, Nara peering about curiously. Her partner on the other hand seemed far more focused on the task.

As the woman placed it on the counter Nara frowned, absently answering, "As I said, I'm Nara. This is my partner, ea Delano." Stufffing her hands in her pockets she peered at the paper. "Do you think we could move this to the table where there's better ambiant light?" It was an often used excuse and one that actually was plausible, so the utterance was given with the assurance of someone who believed what she was saying.

Kat blinked "Sorry, My little bundle of joy was crying all night long and I haven't slept a wink." She moved the parchment when asked, to the long dark brown table behind them where she placed it near enough under the lights. "Do you know what it is?" She asked hopefully. The hooded figure was starting to creep her out, because he never spoke, didn't show his face- And maybe these guys had read her mail an knew she'd want to know about this thing and were going to murder her and her child? Oh shut up! She finally told her imagination.

Nara and Mr. Mysterious moved around slowly, each moving to a spot equidistant from the scroll. Though it took some manuvering the two finally managed to complete the equilateral triangle.

As with every other unsealing, the precise moment they formed a triangle Nara's hands dissolved into mist. The green stuff wrapped around each person, connecting them. Those who were sensitive to it might have felt the fleeting presence of a divine power.

But it was just that, fleeting. A few heartbeats afterwards an soft sort of thump landed on the kitchen table. The mist gradually dissapated, taking a surprisingly long amount of time. When it did, a young boy sat on the table.




Nara wasn't so lucky this time. She had barely been cleared to be out of bed and the strain proved to be much greater than the other times she had unsealed children. Her knees gave out, and she plummetted to the floor, gasping for breath. With a wave of her hand she tried to indicate that she was allright.

Kat watched them as the moved about, she was to tired to think these inersent looking people could be murderers now anyways.. She was sure they were alright... "What the?!" She excalmed as the green mist covered her eyes- It seemed to come from no where! The back of her neck tingled, her cat and elven sences were hightly tunred to magic of all kinds, but this was different, it was- unplaceable, it was totally new to her. Then slowly the mist disapeard and there on her table, where that paper thing was... "OH my... God." She stared for a moment at the pale skinned boy, with bright white hair, his beautiful blue eyes...
Tobi giggled from the table his eyes catching Kats before he deverted them to the falling figure of Nara. His face scrunched up in confusement as he tried to figure what was going on around him.
Kat rushed to Nara's side ignoring the wave of her hand. She snagged a chair from the table and somehow tried to get her onto it, "Are you ok? Do you need some water?" She wasn't panicing, she was trained in some form of first aide... With four kids now she was glad. Before Nara could answer she'd bustled off to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. She must be dehidrated from something? Coming back she just placed it on the table within her reach if she needed it.


Through some miracle of hands and arms and stumbling Nara managed to end up on the chair. Several long tense moments passed before she had managed to catch a bit of her breath. The woman finally calmed down enough to speak. "I'm fine..."

Stepping up behind Nara, Mr. Mysterious placed gloved hands protectively on the relic's shoulders. Reaching up to pat them, Nara smiled at the boy. "Hello.." Having offered her greetings, the woman turned to Kat.

"I'm sorry to startle you. Many years ago, people began being sealed into scrolls. Though they were meant to unseal some time ago, an accident prevented it. Now, every time the Library finds a scroll.. We must unseal them." She paused looking at the woman for confirmation that she was following.

"He's bonded to you now. If you want... I can break that bond, painful as it may be. Or he may live with you.."Sour cream on salsa

Chicken chunks, stir fry with veggies Terryaki sauce- Ginger?



Kat blinked a little, confused, she gave a smile of reliefe as Nara seemed to be alright. Catching what she just said, "Sealed in a scroll?" Her brain seemed to be trying to work it out, "A child... Inside a scroll- Magic or... Is it like, there soul inside a scroll... Because that scroll wasn-" She cut herself off as he head regestered what Nara had also said, "Bonded? But- I..." She turned to look at the little boy who was now stuffing his socks into his mouth, "I'm sure I can handle another- I don't think Danni will mind that much having another brother..." Kat picked the boy up, "Tobi... And another boy.." She slowly sank into one of the chairs oposite Nara, and continued in a whisper, "I have four boys- I hope the next time something like you pops up its a girl." She giggled at herself.

Tobi smiled at Nara, she felt, good I guess, he could sence something he liked about that woman... As Kat picked him up he pulled the sock back out of his mouth. It didn't taste that good, and instead nuzzled into her arms and tried to fall asleep.

"Anyway," Kat said softly, "I think he want's to stay here."

Nara nodded, trying not to show her relief on her face. Thank god. "Ah.." For a moment Nara searched around in her pocket, fingers struggling with the objects stuffed in there. Eventually she pulled out a card and laid it on the table. "Here. This is our number. If you need anything.."

Standing up slowly, Nara smiled at Kat. "We'll take our leave now, let you and Tobi get aqquianted.."

Kat nodded and with Tobi in her arms she walked them to the door. "Umm.. I hope you feel better? And.. Umm.. Have a nice day?" She said politly nodding as they left.

She walk back to the table to sit and try make sence of what just happened... She somehow aquired andother child from a scroll? Should she send a thank-you note to her sister? Or hate mail? Or... What? Tobi absentmindly grabed out for Kat's necklace she wore which totally distracted her of her thoughts...
