So, I am a pretty lame fellow, and I still play neopets. On neopets, I am in a Queen guild, and one of the members posted about a Freddie Mercury movie and a new Queen album. Had anyone else heard this? Well, I hadn't. I am guessing it is with Paul Rodgers? Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I heard about the Freddie movie (Adrien Brody for John! >D), and I'm not too sure about the new Queen album. Personally? I'm waiting until the newsletter or official website says something about it 3nodding
So I'm not really holding my breath until then xd

Well, I can understand they want to make a movie about a famous musician. Like the one about Ray Charles? Or... that other one of that country singer xp
It's business, they need something that sells, and also something new from the Queen side other than just remixes or collabs of old albums and well-known songs that people get sick of easily.

I'm personally very excited about the new album, and I would really like to see the movie. Yesterday, my mom and I were talking about who should play whom, and we basically came down to this:
Brian May: Heath Ledger
Roger Taylor: Jude Law
Freddie Mercury: Ewan McGregor
John Deacon: James Franco
Mary Austin: ME! rofl
Obviously, we were just messing around. The only thing I'm worried about with the movie is that the writers might mess something up, even if it was something small, and then I wouldn't be able to enjoy the rest of the movie...

Okay, there's an article floating around, saying that they very well might cast Mr. Depp as Freddie Mercury. What do you guys (and girls) think of that?

I dunno I'd believe it when I see it.
Although, Depp has a lot on his plate now doesn't he? What with those pirate movies and such...
I just don't think I could imagine Depp as Freddie. rofl Maybe it's just me...

I don't mind Depp playing as Freddie. Well, 70's Freddie that is. He looked borderline-Freddie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he's a versatile actor, I'm sure he could pull it off xd

Wraane Okay, there's an article floating around, saying that they very well might cast Mr. Depp as Freddie Mercury. What do you guys (and girls) think of that? The article came from a tabloid-esque paper that jumped the gun on final casting decsions, so no worries... yet. wink Brian cleared everything up on his site saying that the role of Freddie was still open and up for grabs, though Depp might be in the runnings. Eww.
