Tail whip, that sounded like a fun one Orpheus thought to himself as he gathered a few things that would be needed for this class. He had gone out today to fetch some soccor balls with this class in mind. They were a good and tuff sort of ball that would take a lot of abuse and not break down since they were made for kicking around. So he had about five of them waiting in a circle, then across the room a ways was a goal also for soccor. The object of the class would be rather easy, to get teh tail whip down and well enough that it could be used to knock a ball across the room into the goal.
Now all there was to do was await Damaris.

Oh, boy! Oh, boy!, Damaris thought as her father dropped her off to the training class. I get to hit things! With my tail!! 8D If inner thoughts had emoticons, anyways. Most likely they did.
She'd never spoken to Orpheus, though she'd heard and seen other students speak of him. Most of them with a lot of excitement and praise, though she'd heard some of the horror stories. The one about the limbs flying off was entirely too amusing. Needless to say, she wasn't intimidated - at least, not yet.
Damaris practically galloped into the training room in a pair of skinny sweatpants and a tshirt. She didn't get to wear these kind of clothes to school and that just made her feel all the more excited.

Orpheus was bouncing on of the soccor balls on his head in an idle sort of way when his student arrived, he looked over her way then moved back some to instead catch the ball smiling, "Hell there, welcome to class." He said to her, setting the ball down back with the others to walk over to where she was, "Name is Orpheus Solon, call he Orpheus." He didn't really find himself a stickler for all the 'Mr. Solon' stuff, in fact he preferred casual. Made the class more comfortable.

"Hullo, Mr. Orpheus, sir," Damaris put down her jacket onto a heap on the floor.
There was a clipped "child's cellphone" on the zipper, her father decided it was time she got some means of letting him know when school was over since she seemed to be responsible enough (despite everything) to own it. It looked like a very large zipper charm in bright sky blue with large buttons. She turned the volume down before she went to greet Orpheus.
"What're we gonna do today, Mr. Orpheus, sir?" she said as she stood in front of him, shifting anxiously from one foot to the other. "What's all the soccer balls for?"

"Gonna be playing some soccar today only you won't be using your hands or feet." He said, "Instead you will be trying to make the goals using only your tail. You have a 'tail whip' ability that we are going to practice. Have you ever used your tail like that before?" Best to see if she had tried to use her tail for anything so far.

"Uuhhh..." she thought back on the last time her father even LET her use her tail to hit things with that didn't earn her a time out. "Oh, yeah! My cousin Taylor had a birthday party once and we gotta pinata that looked like a biiiig purple hippo. They blindfolded us while we tried to hit the pinata, but I broke the stick squashing a bug. So I used my tail instead!"
That distracted her momentarily. She missed the summer and recalled the rest of that day. She stood in the classroom with her eyes hazed over in her memory.

The redhaired teacher nodded, "Alright, thats great. Means that you have good control over your tail. This should be a piece of cake for you." He said, confident that the girl would get the idea down of what she was supposed to do. He moved his foot to tap a ball over to her, "Wanna give it a try?"

"Okay, Mr. Orpheus, sir," she nodded and took a stance almost like a baseball player would.
Grabbing the ball she looked at it and then looked at her tail. Tongue sticking out in concentration, she threw the ball straight up and watched as it came down. She turned quickly and missed it.
"Man!" she complained and picked it up again.

"Well you have good form which is a good start, just got to get the timing down." He said to her so that she wouldn't get frustrated over the miss. After all she seemed to have a good idea what she was doing.

Damaris was not only sticking her tongue out at this point, but squinting one eye with concentration. She instead started invisioning the soccer ball as a pinata...
...it turned into that stupid hot blue and neon pink donkey with the yellow tassle ears. She thought it had one leg shorter than the other three, which was okay since they were gonna beat the snot out of it with a broomstick wrapped in crepe paper, anyway but.
"I'm not killing THAT, it's gimpy!" Taylor said to S-D.
"It's NOT gimpy! You don't even know what gimpy means, you little snot, now HIT IT!"
"I'm not a snot, and it IS gimpy!" Taylor stamped her foot and snorted.
"Lemme kill it!!" Damaris grabbed the broomstick.
Moments later there were splinters and the tree managed to look taken aback that foreign wood had banged up against it. What was it Dadda said when she did that?
"For Chrissakes!!" she shouted for courage, dropped the ball and took a massive swing with her tail.
BANG!!

Orpheus watched the ball sail up, up, up, arching as it reached the highest point it would go and fell down, down, down, bounced once and landed in the goal. His eyes widened a little bit then he laughed, "Very nice." He said giving the girl a grin, "Very! Lets see if you can do that again?"

Damaris ran and picked the ball up with an enthusiastic nod. Still envisioning the soccer ball as a pinata as she went, she threw it up into the air again. She wondered if she could try putting a little show-off trick into it. Damaris bounced the ball back up with her head and gave a twirl to hit the ball with her tail again.
SMACK!!
"How's that, Mr. Orpheus, sir?" she said, having more fun trying to impress him than actually learn anything.

He gave a whistled, "That was great!" He said, impressed by the entire trick, and the fact that she had sunk another goal. He probably should pay more attention to that fact but... really come on. She seemed to be pretty good at soccor!

He moved over to where a few other soccor balls sat and gathered them up into his arms, moving off a ways away from the girl, "I am going to kick them to you, try to hit the first one back to me, then the second one to the goal, third to me, and the last one to the goal." This would work on both her timing and her aim.
